Kekashi leapt around in the water letting it cross over her wings. Her small body carried by ginormous wings along the mountain. She smiled now settling herself down on the far side of the spring. She knew where everything was now, every pebble every stone every crack. It was something she was just able to do. The female Keiyou knew tons of places, along with tons of species. She liked learning new things not to mention she was knowledgeable about really anything.
The mountains strutted high cold and windy at this time of summer. The spring though was a Crystal blue color with hot steam rising from the vapors. The ground just around it was rocky sort of like a cave and an arch hanging over the large spring. Kekashi yawned, getting a bit bored with herself. She started to wonder if she would ever see rivaxorus again.

Some would say that Apollo was lucky with his inability to hear the dizzying speech of Bezdomny, or Kelev as he had come to be revealed as. Still, the inclusion of Tiatsu seemed to have triggered multiple identity crises. First, there was Bezdomny who now was tottering around with half his head in his Kelev past and half his head in his Bezdomny present. It confused Apollo as much as it confused the old Sennyo. But, the deaf hybrid wasn’t here to get away from the confusion of his fatherlike figure, but instead, to test his independence.
The world was more dangerous to the deaf two year old hybrid than it was to a hearing wolf. He could not listen to the warnings in the wind, but compensated by being alert to sights and smells. Still, there was no substitute to lupine communication, especially when it seemed that he was the only wolf who had to read lips around here to get the full gist of what was going on.
He didn’t fly, but padded quietly ahead. He had no teacher in flight and no confidence to try it out himself. And for some reason, the thought of flying and having the ground a mile below him made him shudder. Perhaps he had had a traumatic experience as a pup; that was all he could muster in way of theory.
However, the summer air was warm on his wings and Apollo looked onward and noticed a speck shaped like a wolf ahead. He ran silently, his tongue lolling out of the side of his mouth. His nature made him easy to give trust. The two year old stopped dead in his tracks and then tilted his head. “Who ah you?” he said as he tried to form the words he could not hear. Bezdomny’s coaching had been surprisingly effective, but far from perfect.
Apollo looked over the female Keiyou. She was nothing more than a dirty loner. He would be the same, except he had his adoptive father and his brother taking care of each other in a small makeshift family group. He wasn’t in his prime condition, but looked like he could possibly belong to a pack, and, perhaps Bezdomny was two steps away from one. He seemed to be gathering wolves and friends like a moss collected stone.
She was a pretty little thing, this wolf. Perhaps he could convince her to come along with him and Bez and Tiatsu. The white wolf gave a smile to the Keiyou female, but remained silent. His blue eyes were locked onto her mouth, to read the words that would come--hopefully without too many mistakes.

Kekashi relaxed listening to her surroundings. She liked being a loner, but she would not mind being in a pack. It got lonely sometimes and with her leadership skills she would make a fine fighter. Kekashi heard a voice somewhat behind her somewhat in front of her but either way it was close. She could just make out the words, it almost sounded as if it was a pup but she knew it probably was not. She opened her eyes, it was a younger wolf then her though. Even though she was small besides her large wing span he did look like a pup with white fur. She blinked giving a jist of the situation as she got out of the pool of water shaking her wet fur and stretching her large 10 foot wings. She smiled knowing what the white wolf had said though. She wondered if he was death, after all she knew plenty of deaf wolves.
Sitting down she wanted to test it really. She opened her mouth without speaking she mouthed the words very bigger saying 'I am Kekashi and you?' she hoped that he could read those words. After all it was sort of clear of what she mouthed. She also wondered if he would notice she never really said anything. It was just a test though after all she was very curious. Not like she was Venal, she never made any deals with anyone. She smiled tilting her head in a friendly manner. She was kind for the most part, but a strong leader all the same.
Her parents had been killed by dragons, so she hated most dragons. She looked at Apollo noticing his wings, he must have been a hybrid. Hybrid's were interesting their parents from two different breeds. Kekashi thought it was wonderful to be two breeds at once. Yet, she could not see what two breeds he was.

Apollo wrinkled his snout at disgust as he wondered if his thick words really did make him sound like such an idiot to warrant such an exaggerated way of moving the mouth and such a demeaning show of false sympathy or pity or just whatever this female was doing. Had she no respect? He didn’t understand the mouth shape of ‘Kekashi,’ which he merely took as some unnamed adjective. Apollo was quite confused really. To her words, he tilted his head and then answered, “Smartest one here?” His words seemed to be plodding from his mouth rather than flowing easily as the Keiyou’s were. However, he was deaf to the way he sounded, deaf to the way she sounded, so in this silent world, what he had said was just fine.
And really, he could have been taken as a wolf with a severe impediment rather than a deaf one. Most deaf wolves didn’t get to speak at all. Much less communicate. Most didn’t get to live lives really. Most died. Apollo was one of the lucky few, but at this moment, he wondered how lucky he could be to have met this female.
He rolled his eyes at the ignorant, though well-meaning wolf, and said, in a way as blunt and offending as she had been to him, “You stupid?”

Kekashi flicked her ears. She hoped he did not mind her experimenting to know a bit more about him. It was just a thing that she did often. She stretching her wing at the sound of his voice. She never meant to be rude. She even gingerly said the words. She thought for a moment about what to say. Since, she would have to think this through a bit more then she thought. She refolded her large wings and walked up closer to him, then hearing the comment you stupid? Or course she was not stupid, she was actually pretty smart. She sat down and smiled at him, lowering her ears and tilting her face, she showed a sign of kindness. It meant she was no threat and she just wanted to spend time with him.
"No one here is stupid my friend. I was simply asking your name" She actually said this, this time. Hopeing it worked better then last time. She did not want to be rude, not to mention the fact that she never really liked being called stupid. It was a good thing she was not in a pack otherwise she would be called by names all the time.

Apollo grimaced at her reply, but his sour face didn’t last too long. He calmed himself with a sigh before relaxing his stance. Ignorant was what she was; a wolf should know basic etiquette. Especially an adult wolf. He would have expected such a reaction from a yearling. However, the treatment she gave him just by hearing his thick words made him reluctant to continue speaking. She had treated him like an idiot. Did he really sound that stupid?
Hesitantly, he replied, as clearly as he was able, which still sounded a bit garbled, “Apollo.” His ears flattened right afterward; he didn’t trust his own voice anymore. He had grown too comfortable with his little family unit. Kelev and Tiatsu treated him as a normal wolf who just happened to also be deaf. Perhaps it was his fault. He had grown too confident about the way he spoke. This wolf’s actions were really a wake-up call that he needed more work.
He kept his mouth shut and his silence was heavy with self-doubt. He couldn’t ask her anything, afraid to speak again. And he didn’t want to protest because he was afraid to speak. Apollo understood fully now the pain it was to be mute. To be granted the gift to speak with all wolves—not just with Bezdomny and his language of touch and gesture—and to have it snatched out of reach, it hurt. It really hurt.

KEkashi flicked her ears. She really was trying her best. Maybe it was because she was just so tired. After all all she was, was really curious. The young female spread out her wings in a stretch and sat down with a smile. She was just going to act normal no more experiments, it was just plain creepy that she did that. 'Apollo' was his name. Such a unique and pretty name it was. Unlike Kekashi that meant nothing and did not sound very nice to her. It was almost like her sister Keshi's name. It seemed though as if Apollo was scared to speak now. Not scared, just if he spoke she might disrespect him again.
"Care to sit next to me my dear?" she asked. Hopeing it did not come to offend the yearling. After all, she liked making friends, of all sorts. She had not mad many friends that were hybrids though. She thought they were rare, that or wolves just only liked mating with their own species.
