Obi very gently placed his paw down, careful not to make any sound. His coat hide him in the tall grass, but one sound could give him away. His prey, a jackalope, sat mindlessly eating a piece of grass, unaware of the looming danger.
Obi's mind was in it's hunting mode, thinking only about his next move. Take a step, lower self to the ground, take a step, pause. The jackalope twitched, looking around. Obi froze, muscles tensed from the nerves.
The jackalope soon continued eating. Obi pushed forward, fur dragging on the dirt until he was right behind his prey. He waited for the right moment to jump.

It was a downright tedious matter when it wanted to be. Of course, it was also a game of patience, of which Lydia currently had none. She was hungry and feeling a bit selfish so she'd sneaked away for a while to find herself a meal. It wouldn't be a very big meal considering she wasn't in the mood the share. A meal was a meal, however, and unfortunately for her she'd spent the last half hour failing to find one.
When the scent of a Jackalope finally caught her nares the female couldn't be happier. A smirk twisted its way up her pretty little maw while she let her nose guide her through the tall grasses. It was about time she'd found something to eat. The glint in her eye was almost sadistic as began to stalk her prey.
Of course, it was just her luck that as soon as she spotted the poor critter it was up and running. What was worse was that something seemed to already be in pursuit of it. A disgruntled sigh tumbled from her maw as she glared after the stranger and his prize. Maybe if she wasn't so hung up on her own thoughts she would have realized that she recognized the young male. As it was, she'd already made up her mind to chase after him and try and con away the meal. Hunting was only tedious when she was the one doing all the work.

Obi raced out of the grass after the jackalope. He opened his mouth, his feet barely touching the ground before he snapped the jackalope up in his mouth. With a gruesome crack, the jackalope stopped moving.
"Lovely." Obi said happily placing the corpse on the ground. "Lunch time." But right before he was about to dig in he caught the scent of another wolf.
Curious, he looked around trying to find the other wolf. The scent had left as suddenly as it had come so now it was up to his eyesight.

Of course, her prize was no longer the tasty little jackalope. Lydia's sights were set on the male who'd just made a successful capture.
Coming up behind him, her vantage point gave her enough to realize exactly who she was stalking. A soft chuckled tumbled from her maw as her brow rose slightly, the smile on her lips giving her an innocent appearance. This would be easier than she thought! Not that she liked taking advantage of her friends... It never hurt to have a bit of fun with them thought. Her voice was loud and melodic as she called out a cheery, "Hullo, Obi!"

Obi had spotted Lydia almost at the same time she had spotted him.
"Lydia!" He pranced over to her throwing dust into the air. "How are you?"
He quickly looked over her then spotted her smile. He smiled back, wide and toothy, his blue eyes sparkled.
"What are you up to?" He had been around her enough to know when she was up to something at this point, however it never occurred to him that he might be the one she was going to trick.

late post is late. sowry obi x.X [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i52.tinypic.com/262wfpe.jpg]His smile was infectious; her grin grew larger, more confident. She matched his steps, the distance between them diminishing into almost nothing as she maintained that innocent look about her features. When he was close enough, she ran her tongue up his cheek in a friendly greeting.
Four tails wagged lazily behind Lydia as she ignored the suspicious tone of the male and continued her game. Her voice was sweet, the childish nature of her words only accented by a slight pout. "I was hoping to catch myself a meal. It hasn't been going very well though." Her eyes dropped from Obi's face to her paws, adding to her disheartened appearance.

Obi was about to point out that she didn't answer his question when she put on such a disheartened face. His tails swished gently back and forth as he looked at his food then at Lydia, and back at the food again.
"Well..." He shifted his paws on the ground. He wasn't that hungry was he? I mean Obi had had a jackalope already. "You can have my jackalope if you want. I mean it's fresh so it should be in good condition. But I haven't tasted it yet so you don't know..." He gently padded aside to give Lydia a clear view of the corpse.

"You mean it, Obi?" she asked at first, slightly timid to be sure of his actions. She didn't hesitate for long though, bounding over to his side and tackling him affectionately. Several affectionate licks and kisses to cheek later, her eyes were dancing with delight. "You're too sweet!"
She gave him one last lick, nuzzling into his neck for a moment while her multiple tails swayed behind her. Then she pulled away to inspect the kill, sniffing lightly at it. The tantalizing scent made her mouth water. But before she could eat, she looked back over at her friend. A small part of her felt guilty for so easily taking his hard earned jackalope. So with a sigh, she offered him a soft smile. "We can share it, you know."

Obi stood, still shaking a bit from how happy he was. His tails wouldn't stop flying every which way as if they had a mind of their own. He cleared his throat before continuing. He would definitely have to do this more often.
"It's okay." He gently nudged her with his nose towards the kill. "I've already had a good meal today. Besides, I can always catch another one!"
He pranced over to the food, the smell not bothering him that much. His paws sending dust into the air which was soon swept up by the wind. The wind was stronger then most, causing Obi to look up at the horizon. Dark angry clouds hung there, as if waiting for someone to just push them.
"Looks like a storm's coming. Eat fast!" He said playfully. "We're due for one, everything's been getting dry lately."
