The Dteria Plains. A place covered in yellow grass and flowers. A place dotted with a few trees and small bodies of water. It was summer, so the surface of those pools was relatively low.
From the sky descended a Keiyou, flexing her eagle like wings and coming in for as gentle as a landing as she could manage. She had to do a running landing, as sudden stops would only cause her to stumble. Her run slowed, gradually, until she could come to a safe stop. She folded her wings on her back and looked around with light blue eyes.
She had never been to the Dteria Plains before now. She had stuck to Yvit Cove until now, as it was the most familiar place to her. However, she'd had to move on. As a dispersal, she didn't want to stay in one place for too long. Traveling was the only way she would get much experience on her own.
Rei looked upwards at the sky as she noticed some clouds coming in. It looked like it may rain soon. Rain may be a good thing in this weather, but she had heard the Plains were treacherous during thunderstorms, which were common in the summer months. She would have to make sure she found shelter before that happened.
She was feeling a little hungry, though. So hopefully she would be able to fill her stomach before then.
At that, she started forward through the yellow grass.

He didn't make a habit to return to certain areas if he could help it, but it had been a bit of an accident. So long as he didn't go back into the desert. He'd admit it now, that had been a stupid plan. He'd finally emerged from the place with hunger, thirst and confusion. He still wasn't sure whether that wolf he had met, Apocalypse, was real, nor did he really plan on finding out again.
Being alone certainly suited him best, though that wolf had questioned every single reason he had for things. Perhaps he'd been close to changing. He'd blame it on the heat, like most yagi he did have a bit of a stubborn streak to him, a bit of pride. He wasn't about to admit he'd been so close to going against his views.
No one mattered to him, it was the best way to keep it. Being on his own was best, so the first statement was a bit of a lie, what mattered is that no one was near him. As he glanced ahead though, he could see that he was about to have a little problem, a keiyou by the looks of things, or maybe some kind of bird myou. Either way it didn't concern him what the wolf was, so long as they didn't try to start some kind of conversation or worse, try tag along with him. That would be a foolish idea anyway, the yagi truly didn't know where he was going.

With this kind of environment, this was a good hunting ground for jackalopes. There were white stags and elk, but on her own, Rei didn't think she would be able to take down either of them. Multiple wolves could, but a single one wouldn't be enough. So jackalope it was!
She caught a few scents. A few jackalope but then another. It was lupine. So she wasn't the only one out here. It was a species she had never encountered before, though. Rei had never seen a Yagi.
She had more important things to worry about than another wolf, though. She had to eat something, preferably before the storm began, and also find shelter from said storm.
Catching the scent of a jackalope, Rei began to follow the trail as quietly as she could as to not alert the prey. She brought her wings as close to her back as she could to hide her large figure in the grass. She checked the wind. She would have to stay upwind to avoid detection from the jackalope she was currently hunting.

He was going to ignore her for as long as he possibly could. If she chose to speak to him, then and only then would he allow himself to acknowledge that she was actually still around, even then he wasn't likely to turn into a polite wolf. It was a bit like that childish game, the way one pup would bully another; "Can you see anyone here? Nope I can't. Did you hear something? Didn't think so." Only difference was, Jelani wouldn't exercise that in quite the same way, or go to such extremes.
He didn't want to bully the keiyou, one might argue he was bullying himself more than anyone, he simply didn't want to talk if he could help it. His head may have been doing the 'nope, nobody there' act, but perhaps the 'can't see you, can't see me' was the more appropriate explanation.
He paid no attention to her, in fact he couldn't even spot her form now, hidden in the grass. He wasn't hunting himself and so wasn't about to get in her way, not on purpose anyway. He was simply walking where his paws took him, and chances were he was going to sabotage things in some way. Like moving through the grass now, coming from the opposite direction to the keiyou he could possibly scare that jackalope, and who knew what direction the thing would run in. If he could reverse time, have paid a little attention to the the keiyou and what she was doing, chances were he would have done so. If he did scare that jackalope, he was bound to be given a fair bit of attention.

((Sorry I took so long, El. Life kidnapped me and College tortured me )) [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/2s0jy1k.jpg]Rei continued her slow movement toward the source of the jackalope scent. When it came to social interaction, she was not very good at it. As soon as she had put all her focus on the hunt, she completely lost track of the Yagi, anyway.
She had no idea that the Yagi was moving downwind, near the other side of where she was. If luck was on her side, the jackalope would end up running in her direction, not being able to smell her in any way. If life decided to be difficult, then she would at least have to sprint for it.
As she peered through the grass at a small clearing, void of tall grass, she saw the target. A small female, but Rei took a glance at the antlers. She had hunted jackalopes before, but those antlers always proved to be a difficulty in successfully catching one. They were fast too. Even if the Yagi hadn't gone downwind, there would still be no guarantee that she could catch it. Not only that, but it was alert and watchful. She had to be a little relieved that she was not in a position where it could smell her. Slowly, she coiled her body, getting down on her haunches and readying to propel herself forward.

He continued walking along his way, his only care being to avoid the keiyou. She seemed to have vanished though, no longer in his sight or scent. That was good news, she wasn't bothering him he could still pretend that he was alone, though he wasn't so naive as to believe that the female had simply vanished, he was still alert, just in case she suddenly popped up again.
The next thing to catch his attention was a movement in the grass, a trail and the tips of a set of antlers poking above the green. A jackalope, one that had apparently seen or scented him and wasn't about to stick around to find out if it would become lunch. Not hungry, Jelani didn't bother to give chase after the little creature, a brief thought wondered how long it would keep running before it realised that.
It was a very brief thought though, he didn't care really.

((OOC: Again, I am so sorry for all this. Life, college, and all that. I understand perfectly if you don't want to RP with me anymore after this. I don't want to keep making people wait on me for weeks/months at a time just because life doesn't give me enough time to come on here as often as I would like. )) [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i53.tinypic.com/2s0jy1k.jpg]As Rei had been ready to make her move, the Jackalope had noticed the Yagi, and it didn't plan on sticking around any longer after that. She watched it take off. Unfortunately, it wasn't in a direction that proved to be in her favor.
However, she had to take this chance. Who knew when she'd be able to find another opportunity for food. She took off after it. She knew it'd be hard to catch it now that it knew there were predators around. Flying would be faster, but she wouldn't be able to maneuver as well as she would on the ground.
It didn't look like she was going to catch it. It had moved into the grass, which made her visibility of the prey wasn't so good anymore. Probably won't have time to sniff out another one before the storm hits! She thought to herself.

It was a daft idea really, though with his own stomach relatively full at the moment simply allowing it to escape seemed like the wiser idea to Jelani. He didn't care how Rei felt, he didn't and wouldn't have anything to do with her.
His brown eyes watched her form dart off after it, and he supposed at least he ought to be thankful that she had ignored him rather than address him instead. He suspected that such an event would end in quite a pother for the two of them. Even that didn't both him too much though, it simply meant he would actually have to talk to her rather than pretend she didn't exist and continue on with his life. That was the plan now, he turned his attention away from her again and continued his walk to nowhere.

ooc: Bad post... Do you want to continue or are you wanting to leave it here? Wasn't sure as Jelani wouldn't follow her or offer to help, and I didn't know if she planned on returning and confronting him. I'm happy continuing if you want, though it's left open for whatever you'd like to do.

OOC: I am so happy to hear that. Again, I'm so sorry for my absence, and would love to keep going. However, I'm not sure what else to do in here, as we don't seem to be getting anywhere. I think we need a plan. Unless he needed help, Rei would be too shy to approach him. Did you have something in mind? We could brainstorm a bit.
