Spice Amber eyes slowly shifted open as light filtered into the cave. An irritated growl rumbled in the back of his throat. Spice wasn't sure he would ever get used to waking up to daylight. Unfurling himself he was reminded of his companion from her tail wrapped around him. Carefully stepping around Rayne he lumbered over to the cave entrance. The ocean waves lapped at the shore line. It was beautiful but not what was occupying his mind. Spice had dropped off soon after Rayne had. Now that it was morning he could fully ponder her words. At least his parents hadn't tried to kill him. Now didn't that set off signals in Spice's brain. He didn't like thinking about how messed up her life could be. It forced pity to surface. Spice hated being pity and feeling pity. She clearly had the strength to move on a little bit. She was here. A scowl marred his face as a cloud move and shot rays or sun straight into his eyes. It was useless dwelling on it. So he move on to where he would go next.

Rayne
A blurry images appeared as her eyes where opening, light filtered in and all she could see was a blurred Spice walking away, was he leaving? her tail flickered towards her body to check he wasn’t there, he wasn’t. “you leaving?” she asked dazed as her eyes adjusted and she was able to open them properly. Her legs stretched out in front of her and her wings fluttered slightly sending a few loose feathers to the floor, she settled back into place after and let her eyes wander around the small cave wondering how it got to morning, had she fallen asleep? She couldn’t remember, she remembered Spice telling her that his family had left him in the desert, something she knew she would never forget, and then she couldn’t remember anymore.
She was annoyed at herself for not being able to stay awake, especially as she knew the conversation had been turning. He had been telling her things, things she had never known before, and things about himself that had interested her, and she knew they may never get back to that stage of conversation again.

Spice Spice's large ears perked up and swiveled in Rayne's direction before his head did. He turned to face the disoriented Keiyou. He was still working his way out of sleep and none of his irritation stuck with him for long. "No, I still need to eat that," he nodded to the half eaten jackalope, "And I don't know where I'm going next anyway." At the thought of food his stomach urged him to finish last nights meal and he made way over to the jackalope. As he started to eat he realized that Rayne had not eaten yet. He knew she objected to this jackalope but he wondered how hungry she was. Spice swiped his tongue over his muzzle so he could speak. "Do you plan to eat?"

Rayne
Her eyes went to the Jackalope, at the sight of it she felt both hungry and sick “oh yea food …” she started she hadn’t eaten for almost a whole day and she knew soon she would suffer worse symptoms than a rumbling stomach “I can grab something on the way to ….” the way to where? She had no where to go, she hadn’t planned on where she could find any of what she needed, once she figured out what she needed. Sighing heavily she continued on “where ever I’m going”
She stood flexing her legs for a moment before walking to the cave entrance and sitting there looking out over the waves, her excited tail as always swirling in the dirt. A small smile tugged at her mouth as she watched deciding that she liked the sea, the air somewhat made her feel …happy. She let the smile stay there as she looked at Spice over her shoulder “is there even a place out there for lone wolves?” she asked thinking if any one knew, he would.

Spice Spice took a few more bites, considering her answer. He cleaned his muzzle again to go off on a long spiel. He was starting to get used to teaching Rayne about the world. He almost liked it.
" Loners are everywhere. They live where they can and generally roam. Like my family. My parents stayed together to take care of me and my sisters then went on their own way when we were old enough. My swan sister with my dad and Linx with my mom. The world is big and I've herd of tundras and swamps and plains. As long as your tough enough wolves live anywhere."
He finished off the rest of the jackalope and moved it off to the side so it wouldn't clutter the cave. Stretching like a cat, Spice yawned. He made his way over to Rayne.
"There is always a chance you could run into a pack. Never met one myself but I hear they can be very territorial. Then there are some that are very friendly," he shrugged his shoulders," Everyone is different."

Rayne
“Anywhere” it was nice that she was able to live anywhere, but like spice had said you had to be strong enough to, and she didn’t think that she was strong enough to live alone and roam about. She wondered about pack life, she had grown up in a pack and things hadn’t been that bad had they? No she didn’t think they had, but she had known everyone in her pack, entering a new pack she wouldn’t know anyone, and what if they attacked her? So many questions swirled around in her brain, questions that she didn’t have the answers to yet, she turned back to the sea frowning trying to figure out what to do.
“so where would you go? A pack or a loner?” she asked him turning her head to him slightly as she spoke wondering if he would take the same path that his family did. Then a idea popped into her head, one she was embarrassed to tell him and yet couldn’t get around “Maybe wherever you go …..you could let me tag along with you? …I promise I wont waste anymore food” she said grinning and popping her muzzle on his shoulder her eyes once again looking up at him.

Spice Spice shrugged Rayne off muttering about touchy pups. Grudgingly he eyed the hopeful Keiyou. It wouldn't be bad traveling with her. He felt some sort of pride being able to teach her. It was like being a big brother. He remembered how his sisters had always talked down to him and doted on him. It was satisfying that she seemed to look up to him some. Rolling his eye to look out at the ocean again he made his choice. "It matters not weather I join a pack or not. What happens happen. I find that not many wolves appreciate my company. But if you wish, I'll travel with you."
occ: Spice would be a great teacher. He wouldn't take crap and tell the facts ^_^ And Rayne's company is waring off on him.

Rayne
A small smile licked her lips, but she held back the grin that lingered there knowing that that grin was for her only. He sounded like he didn’t care either way, but she knew there was something below the surface, a small part of him that cared otherwise he would no longer be here. Her head came off his shoulder and her tail began to wag slowly as she stood “well we should get moving then, cant sit around in this cave all day” she looked to him and smiled.
Rayne had only known him a mere day and yet she could feel a affection growing for him, he was her friend something she had never had, and although she would make more in time he would always be special to her. He knew things she didn’t, he taught her new things all the time, and to her this was especially cool. Ears flickered and she waited for him to lead the way out of the cave, into their adventure.
