By the sea of course! Avalon had found herself on the southern tips of the place she was, prancing along white sandy beaches. It had been a year since she had been separated from her brother and friend, and as much as she missed them terribly, she knew it was time for her to start trying to make do with what she indeed still had. Her paws sunk lightly into the sandy shores, and she hopped over a few pieces of driftwood which lined the ground. She was in a rather good mood despite her solitary existence as of now. She had been alone since Pyke had left, wandering here and there.
Yawning, the female paused for a moment, her gait slowing to a mere walk as she approached the water. It took her a few minutes to near the water, and she instantly felt the cool nip of the water upon her paw pads. It was refreshing, despite the shivers it sent up her legs. The water always seemed to give her such a surge of adrenaline... a surge of power almost. She purred, rolling her shoulders back and tossing her head for a moment, before lunging forwards. She bounded into the water, her teal body crashing with the waves. Submerged in the ocean she blended in with the churning waters.
The morning sun was still cresting the horizon, casting its rays over the white beach and causing a strange glowy sort of effect over the water. All in all it was a pretty sight to behold. Avalon paddled in the water, diving down beneath its depths and surfacing again, shaking her head off with a proud and content grin across her face. This kept her occupied for a few moments before she decided it would be prime time to go searching for breakfast.
So, with no further ado, Avalon flipped herself upside down, diving down below the surface. Her eyes were open, searching for any fish that she could see. The female lupus was well adjusted to the water, perhaps not so much as a Cael, but she was used to the stinging salt water. She was able to ignore the sensation, using her paws to pull herself deeper. Finally she spotted a large fish, and wiggling her body about she began to chase after it.
The chase lasted a few minutes before she finally surfaced with the wriggling fish in her maw, a triumphant grin plastered on her face.

A golden wolfs head popped out of the water little ways too look above the serface. She saw little ways on shore, an almost aqua colored wolf? Oh well. She dived back under as her second eye lid foamed over her eyes. All Caels have it, helps them to see underwater. The Cael's name was acualy Sailoon. The female saw as the wolf dived underwater and started to swim her way. Quickly though did she swim out of the way, just in time for the other wolf to see the fish that had been swimming behind her and was now in the aqua fured wolf's jaws.
Sailoon swimed underneath the surfaced wolf, brushing by slightly. Small air bubbles excaped her muzzle and nose. She then swam down deeper and deeper as the water became darker and darker. Till the wolf above her was hardly visable anymore. She looked around seeing some multi-colored fish passing by. The water was slightly cold but mainly keeping a warm temp.
Then full speed, she swam at the surface next to the wolf, splashing out of the water about 10 feet in out in the air then bellyflopped back onto the water. Unforenetly, there was more sand then she expected and got sand burns under her and her scales.
"OWCH!" She yipped out.

Winter was cold. Flying could be an excellent warm up. Viyth had set out before dawn to get his blood flowing a bit, but couldn't quite focus. Though the dizzying heights were fantastic, and the feel of the wind, like it was alive, guiding his wings through the air...it was all as miraculous as usual, though perhaps dulled a bit by a few years of being the norm. Despite all that, he was hungry. His quest for companionship kept him on the move, and snack breaks were occasionally forgotten. Now his stomach was insisting that it no longer be ignored, and he chose to comply rather than enjoy the morning. He couldn't really be upset about it, though. The closest potential source of prey was the ocean, and he'd always wanted to try fishing. Of course, he really didn't have any idea what to do, but such trivial details couldn't bother him...
He landed on the cool sands, his wings flapping a few more times, managing to blow the sand around and, inevitably, into his fur. Viyth folded them against his sides before they could do anything else. He walked tentatively toward the shore, staring intently at the water. Suddenly, not knowing what to do seemed like it might actually be an issue. A wave splashed up, soaking his paws. He jumped back, wings fluttering up again. He had not expected the water to be so cold. He looked around, panicking a little. To his surprise, a teal blue head broke the surface of the water in front of him. A Cael? he wondered. He hadn't actually seen one before, just heard them singing a few times while he flew overhead. But no, he could make out four distorted legs under the water. His ears perked up. Perhaps the wolf-who-was-not-a-Cael would know a little about fishing. The fish in her jaws was certainly good proof. Just as Viyth was about to speak up, he saw a real Cael leap out of the water and slam back down. It would have been a stunningly graceful scene if not for the sharp yelp when she hit the ground.
"Are you alright?" he called to her, a little worried. Well, if she was, maybe she could teach him to fish...

In front of her something broke free of the water, and at first the young lupus thought it may have been a blind serpant. Yelping with a mouthful of fish, she quickly realised it was just a wolf... fish. Avalon had never seen a real Cael before, only heard of them. Her white-blue eyes opened with astonishment as she stared as the wolf leapt out of the water, flying high into the air.
'Is that normal?' she thought to herself, blinking furiously and lifting her head only to be shocked once more. Above her hovered a keiyou. This time she did let out a rather loud yelp, almost dropping her catch in the surprise. She stared up at him before pulling herself under the water just in time to avoid the splash of the cael as she hit the water with a loud yelp. Avalon broke free from the water once more to stare up at the two. "Are you okay?" she asked loudly, paddling to where the cael lay. She stared up at the keiyou above her - noticeably male. She stared at the cael worriedly for a second before turning, paddling towards shore, and depositing her fish on the banks. Then she bounded back into the water, swimming towards the cael.
"Uhh... do you need us to tow you back to shore? I'm sure between the two of us we can get you back. How hurt are you? I'm Avalon by the way. Are you a cael? I've never seen a cael before! You have very pretty... fins? They're called fins, right? Well they're all sparkly. I wish my fur was pretty and sparkly like that..." she trailed off, hardly breathing in her whole speal as she stared intently at the two wolves. "Did I mention my name is Avalon?"

Sailoon cursed under her breath. "Yeah, I am fine I am fine. Yes yes. Mhm." She said as the other worried wolf rushed up to her. "Nice to meet you, nice to meet you." She said as she pulled herself out of the water and was able to sit on her fish tail. Sailoon looked as her underbelly was slightly red. "Just a sand burn." She singed a bit at the thought and feel. "So your Avalon and you?" She turned to the male, still a bit sour temperd so her voice sounded almost like a hiss. She looked up at the sky for a moment as a cool wind whiped at her wet fur and scales. Sailoon shiverd for a moment. Then looked back at the two wolves. Sometimes she just dident understand why wolves had to come about, sometimes. But eh, she would be worried to if some flying half fish wolf comes flying out of the water and landing on burning sand, yellping out loud. Eh, she couldent complain.

Viyth hadn't meant to startle the blue female, and was about to apologize, but she acted too quickly for him to speak. She was, apparently, just as concerned about the Cael's crash landing as he was. And her name was Avalon. And she seemed to like Cael fins. And her name was Avalon. He couldn't help but smile at her rapid, eager speech. The other wolf didn't seem so happy about their concern, but then again, she had just slammed into the sand and gotten herself a mild, but still probably painful, burn. He couldn't blame her for not being in the best of moods.
"I am Viyth, and it's nice to meet you both," he said quietly. He felt decidedly unhelpful just standing there. "Ah...is there anything I can do?" he asked tentatively.
He took a moment to really see the other two wolves. Avalon was quite good-looking, even if her fur didn't sparkle like scales. The Cael was certainly pretty, all golden and green and blue, but there was still something unnerving about seeing a wolf that was half fish. The stories said they could be beautiful, but it was hard to imagine how until he saw her. He hadn't expected a monster, but neither had he anticipated how natural she looked. Viyth had to make a conscious effort not to stare and marvel at her. Seeing a breed for the first time was always exciting.

She pouted slightly, her bottom lip sticking out quite a bit as she looked between the two, listening to her words and ltting her ears flick. She seemed to be able to get out of the water okay, and Avalon padded up beside her, leaving the water drenched from head to foot with the salty water. It began to clump in her fur, drying and leaving a slight white residue on her fur. She looked at them both before giving herself a very gentle shake and plopping the fish down before her.
She did notice the other wolf - the keiyou's - reaction, and he seemed much less grumpy than the fish-wolf. She immediately warmed up to him, smiling a little bit, her pout vanishing. Her face was soon lit up by a bright smile as she forgot her previous hesitation and worry about the other female, nodding eagerly as he spoke. Viyth, Avalon and... fishy. Since she hadn't introduced herself, Avalon shoved in a new name for her instead; Miss Sparklefish. So, staring at the female with bright white-blue eyes, she spoke again. "But you're okay? Well if you're okay, where are the rest of your cael buddies? I mean, don't you guys swim together? Or are you all alone? I'm all alone too. I hate being alone. I mean, sometimes it's okay, but other times it just really, really, really stinks," she spoke, finally turning to Viyth and trotting over to him.
"You're too dry. You should swim too!" she said, grinning a little bit and then shaking her body quite rapidly and vigorously, sending water droplets towards him. She stopped, grinning and nudged her muzzle into her new friend's side. Because clearly, meeting someone, talking their ear off, and spraying them with water, equaled a friend. "This is so exciting!" she exclaimed, giggling a little bit and then staring down at the fish in front of her. "Oh! Oh! Oh! I have a fish!

"Yes I am alone." Sailoon said a bit more calmly as the burn began to, ever so slowly, desolve itself. Sailoon could help but chuckle slightly as Avalon had sprayed Viyth with droplets from her own aqua fur. "Oh, by the way. I am Saillon." She said even more friendly then the time before.
Slowly her tail began to murge back into a fluffy tail and two legs. It acualy felt quite better to have her back legs back. But now she had began to get a bit over heated from the spring sun, almost wishing to get back into the water. But she removed the temptation from her mind as she looked back at the two wolves.
They seemed to be haveing a fun time, or at least Avalon was, as far as Sailoon could tell. Sailoon got up for a moment to shake herself out and streach out her legs then laying down with her head still up, half sprawling herself over the warm sand.
((sorry for shortness))

"A pleasure to meet you, Sailloon."
Two loners, then, like himself. Of course, he wouldn't be for long, with any luck...Viyth tilted his head to one side curiously as Sailloon reverted back to wolf form. The oddities of various species didn't surprise him much, but it was quite an interesting trick. The Cael truly were a perfect compromise of land and water. Avalon's splash, though, was a bit more surprising. "You're too dry. You should swim too!" He jumped away with a yelp, and turned to glare at her. It was a little hard to stay upset when she was already nudging him with her muzzle, as if they were already friends. Instead of a glare, he settled for a bewildered stare.
"I don't know how to swim!" he protested. Besides, he was afraid that the water wouldn't be good for his feathers. Seabirds could dive, but his wings were closer to those of an eagle, and eagles didn't really go in the water. He was a bit jealous of the two she-wolves in that respect, but flying was worth the trade off. He looked at Avalon's fish, which she seemed to have just discovered. "It's a very nice fish," he said, not sure how one complimented dead sea creatures, or their overly enthusiastic hunters.
((Poor Viyth. I think Avalon is scaring him. XD))
