[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,465,true] | [bg=ffff00]Faye crouched in the green, fresh grass, the Lupuse's yellow eyes eagerly watching the small group of Jackalope in the distance. The night was calm and warm, with a half moon and several stars dotting the night sky. However, Faye didn't notice them: Her mind, and senses, were centered on the hunt. She slowly stood, gathering energy, as thunder gave a small rumble and ominous, dark clouds gathered at an alarming speed. To use her lightning abilities, her aim would have to be perfect.
However, the experienced wolf wasn't worried in the least: She had done this hundreds of times. Narrowing her eyes, she gathered the energy of her storm and directed it at an unsuspecting Jackalope, a twisted fork of light descending to the ground and swiftly killing her prey. The others scattered as the clouds quickly disappeared, and everything quieted. She lightly ran over, her long legs carrying her the distance.
The white wolf lowered her head and quickly devoured her prey, licking her chops. Another job well done, she mentally congratulated herself, although her expression remained neutral, scanning the horizon, watching. A few small flashes of light caught her attention, and she whirled around: Just fireflies, she told herself. They were near a river, and she trotted over, drinking long and deep of the refreshing substance.
The night was quiet, almost too quiet. She raised her head and let out a long, low howl, communicating: Is anyone there? She sat down for a moment, although not relaxed, and waited.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Stone had been practicing her new skills with the powers given to her by her new Lumen friend. She was quite pleased with the progress, and she could now create barriers faster and stronger then before. She had been so busy during the day hours that she was now forced to use the night to practice. As she took a second to catch a break and glance up at the stars a bolt of random lightning struck the ground in the near distance. What followed was a howl asking if anyone was around...What a senseless thing to be doing Stone muttered to herself, others may be around but they are probably trying to catch some shut eye.
Good bloody hell! There seemed to be more trespassers of late, were the borders not clear? Perhaps this was a wolf who wished to join the Alliance? Well, she supposed it was her duty to investigate, and maybe even welcome the new wolf.
Therefor she took of with a light trot, steering her way using her sense of smell, blue eyes glowing slightly. She soon came upon a tall white wolf, who seemed to have been hunting on their land. From under the cover of darkness she advanced, standing tall with her tail held high.
Her last joining experience had been rocky, but she had learned not to be so quick on the trigger as a result. With a calm, strong and clear voice she said, "Hello stranger, what brings you to the Philia Alliance's territory? My name is Keinvarii and I am a Fighter here, you may call me Stone though. And please keep your voice down as we have members trying to sleep if you wouldn't mind." She gave a slight smile to show that she was friendly, having no energy left for much of a fight.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,465,true] | [bg=ffff00] Faye smiled at the newcomer sheepishly: A thing she usually never did. She had not thought of other wolves sleeping, being a night owl herself. Night was her favorite time of day, and she realized she should not have assumed it was the same for all wolves.
"Good night, Stone. I apologize for the lightning and my selfishness, I had not thought of other wolves sleeping." she realized this might sound strange, but pressed on: "I have heard of such a pack, although I did not know this was their territory, and for hunting on your lands, I apologize also." she mentally reprimanded herself, since she had grown so used to being alone that thinking of others seemed strange and unfamiliar.
"However, I would like to join this pack, having heard from many of the equality of the Philia Alliance. I would think I'd be more suited for a Sage, if the position is available. If not, I shall leave you to your nightly wanderings, and bid you good night." It was the most she had said to another wolf in a year or so, and the words felt odd on her tongue. She was well educated in battle, but her true passion was the art of storytelling, teaching others and being a keeper to the many myths and legends of wolves.
She hoped she would be able to join this pack, since she was growing tired of being alone, even for a loner such as her.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Stone listened politely to the wolf's apology, vastly relieved that they were so reasonable. This should be a snap, she thought to herself, though I should get to know this stranger a bit before offering the position. Having a Sage in the group would be an excellent addition, and it seemed that the wolf possessed the experience to be knowledgeable of stories and legends. With what appeared to be a level head, the pack would more then welcome such a wolf.
Therefor Stone replied in a confident voice, "Well stranger, that may be, but I would like to know your name before proceeding, it is nice to know whom I may be giving acceptance into this pack. The position is certainly available, however I would like to know what you'd have to bring to the pack first." She cocked her head to the side, looking forward to hearing the other wolf's answer. Stone was already pretty sure the wolf would get the position, but it never hurt to be cautious, other pack member's lives could be on the line after all.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,465,true] | [bg=ffff00] The white Lupuse resisted the urge to howl at herself in frustration: She couldn't believe she had forgot to even mention her name! Truly, she thought to herself, it has been too long since I've spoken to another wolf. So far, she was fairly sure she wasn't making the best of first impressions, first hunting on this pack's lands, then waking everyone up, and then not even introducing herself.
If she did have the chance to join this pack, she had to remind herself to practice her social skills. " My name is Faye, and I am well-educated in battle techniques just as much as history and stories. However, I've always preferred being a keeper of myths and legends than fighting, although should it come to that for the pack's safety, I shall."
She paused, then proceeded to add: "I was taught by an older wolf in my old pack about myths, legends and stories: He taught me everything he knew. Besides storytelling, I am also well-educated in the matter of herbs and healing wolves, also taught from the same wolf. He was a well-known teacher and healer, if not a bit absent-minded..." she chuckled to herself at the memory of him, since he had been almost like a father to her.
Faye decided honesty was the best way to go, and also added: "I am not a young wolf, yet not elderly, being seven years of age. The reason why I should wish to join this particular pack is because I believe it's time for me to settle down, and the equality and acceptance this pack shows to all creatures is well-known." She stopped and smiled warmly, or so she hoped, since it had been a while, after all.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Stone smiled, well pleased with the other wolf's answer. Whether it was flattery or the honest truth, the fact that the Alliance was making a name for itself was always good news. She curled her tail around her, the dense fur protecting her from the spring bite in the air. The breeze was ruffling her fur but apart from the new member and her self the meadow seemed calm. In order to remain a place for pack members to feel safe the Alliance would have to be more known and even build political relations to offer further protection to its members should war ever erupt. It never hurt to have allies in times of trouble Stone mused with pensive eyes.
Actually, now that she thought about that issue she should remember to mention it to Magispar to see what she thought on the matter. Turning her attention back to Faye she said in a friendlier voice, "Well it sounds that you are more then qualified for the position, and we would welcome someone with as much training as yourself to the Alliance. We have young pups in our mist that may enjoy learning about myths and legends. A little education may not hurt, but you will have to take that up with their mother, Phoenix." She trailed off a little, not wanting to rush head first into the wolf new acceptance. Perhaps a small test might serve to determine the extent of Faye knowledge?
With a slight smile Stone proposed, "So you say you know some legends new Sage? Would you be up to telling me one of your stories?" Having lived on her own without a pack Stone had no knowledge of such stories, perhaps receiving a little education herself may prove to be beneficial. Let's see what this wolf is made of...

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,465,true] | [bg=ffff00] Faye grinned, her tail briefly wagging: This smelled of a challenge! She thought about what Stone had mentioned, and would be delighted with teaching as well as storytelling. Besides, oddly enough, pups were usually the best listeners, never having to rush off somewhere else like older wolves. Faye cleared her throat, and pondered this for a moment.
Suddenly, inspiration struck, and she began: " A long, long time ago, before you or I ever roamed this earth, there were three wolves: One was fiery, and bright: Light followed him wherever he went. His name was Day. Another was darker, and more quiet, always bringing a sense of peace and serenity to other wolves. His name was Night. The last was by far the most beautiful, she had fur the color of stormy clouds and eyes that shone like pools of fresh water. Her name was Rain." Faye paused, collecting her thoughts for a moment: This was an old legend her teacher had once told her, and she had added on bits and pieces herself.
" Unfortunately, Day and Night both fell deeply in love with Rain, who was a quiet and gentle wolf. The more time they spent quarreling over her, the more Rain grew sadder and sadder, for they were both her friends, and she loved them equally. They fought and fought, and their words split the sky as lightning, their blows to each other as loud as thunder. Finally, Rain vanished into thin air, her sadness too much to bear. This divided Night and Day forever, and they vowed to never see each other again: This is why Dawn and Sunset always separate the two. The rain that falls is her tears of loss for her two best friends, for as you may know, Rain never sees a sunny Day, or a cloudless Night." Faye finished her tale, and smiled at Stone: She had been afraid she had forgotten her talent, but the words had been familiar and had slid of her tongue with ease. Of course, it wasn't the happiest of legends, and she had more bright and cheerful ones for the younger pups, but it was her favorite, for she had a soft spot for sad endings. She had demonstrated her talents, and told the other wolf about herself. She hoped she was accepted into the pack, but knew that it was now up to Stone to decide.

sorry for the short postie Kas [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Stone listened attentively to Faye's story, the tale a rather creative one. Yes, she thought to herself, this wolf will be perfect for the position. If she could heal anything like she could tell stories the wounded pack members would be in great paws. Smiling she complimented, "I have yet to hear a story before, but from what I am hearing you possess a great talent. The Alliance will always have room for one such as yourself. Tell me, what brings you our way?"
She thought for a second and decided that it would be handy for Faye to meet the rest of the pack and said instead, "Actually, if it pleases you, how do you feel about meeting up with the other members of the pack? Nothing formal, but it would be a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the other wolves." She cocked her head to the side and thought, I hope I am not being to forward about this whole event, I only mean to keep the pack running smoothly until Magi's return. Earning the light lupus' approval had become a goal of late, and so she tried to meet the expectations of her roles.
