The sun was bright and warm on the fine spring day and a certain Lumen was strolling along the sandy banks of a crystal clear river. Her pale red eyes scanned her surroundings, watching for anyone who may come to attack her. If she was seen, she'd be visible to that wolf while still in eyesight. If she was caught, then she would be forced to grant that wolf a wish. However, that didn't necessarily mean the female would be true to the exact words of the wolf. Her white fur made her look normal, black ears, tail, and paws adding to the effect.
"Evelyn, where have you brought yourself?" She asked to no one in particular, stopping beside the clear water and walking over to it. The 200 year old wolf felt something strange about it, as though she shouldn't touch it. She felt it was safe to drink and she told herself not to fall into it, not to touch the smooth silvery pebbles lining the bottom of it. She leaned closer and crouched, lapping up the cool liquid with her pale pink tongue.
Evelyn stood to her normal height and gazed around, then looked at the sand. Deciding to have a little fun, she bent the light rays around her and became the color of the sand, blending with it perfectly. She giggled, trotting along further upstream. She changed back to her regular color and laughed loudly. She grew silent, realizing she was alone. She snorted, sitting on her haunches.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png]Stone had been patrolling the borders of the Alliance's territory for quite some time, a restless feeling gnawing at her mind. Using her dull grey and green fur she blended into the scenery beautifully, creeping along without any particular hurry. The day was turning out to be a slow one, and she was just about to take a nap when she picked up a strange scent.
Growling softly she trotted along, now in full stealth mode, following her nose. Upon approaching the river she saw what appeared to be a Lumen that did not seem to be part of the pack. A trespasser! Stone silently crept up behind the other wolf, using her ability to manipulate stone to pick up and shape some rocks into arrows, letting them spin alongside her.
She gave a louder growl of warning to the trespasser and said in a loud voice, "Who are you and what business do you have here? These are the lands of the Philia Alliance and as a fighter I do not take kindly to anyone here to cause mischief!" She rose to her full height, and starred directly at the new wolf with her bright blue eyes, tail swishing in impatience. If the lumen tried to run, all Stone had to do was project a couple of her arrows and the wolf could consider itself as good as caught.

Evelyn turned around to find a Lupus there, stones floating around her. The threatening expression on her face got the message across clearly to the Lumen. However, she wasn't threatened. Instead, she smiled widely, more to a trickster degree than anything. She paced closer to the wolf, making no attempt to run, and her smile continued to get wider.
"And who are you?" She mocked, laughing. "I... I am Evelyn." She inspected the wolf with her pale red eyes, another laugh coming from her throat. "You are an awfully young wolf. What hope do you have in fighting against me? Do you want to know your chances of winning?" Once again, she stepped closer and closer, coming to a stop with her head lowered. "Slim...to none."
With great ease, Evelyn hurled herself over the wolf and, because she was no longer in her eyesight, became invisible. She walked silently on the stones, almost teasingly in a circle around her. Using more of her power, she bent the light around the floating stones and they suddenly disappeared. She danced several feet away and continued to tease the fighter.
"Oh, my~" She sang. "What will you do now? You can't see me... You can't catch me, and your stones are not visible to you." Evelyn laughed loudly, but was careful to watch the wolf. She made sure she was loud enough so that her voice echoed off the rocks, making it difficult for her to find the Lumen. However, Evelyn meant no harm. She was a trickster. She only wished to play, but her powers made her seem like a great threat.

ooc: lol, this is cool, never met a lumen char before [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png]Stone watched the Lumen come closer, her eyes flashing in annoyance. The sing song voice stabbed at her self control, and her flighty response served as a catalyst to her rapid temper. However, it was not until Evelyn tampered with her rocks that Stone finally lost it.
Just who does this pixie think she is dealing with, Stone thought. Her silly mannerisms may impress some, but this trickery is ridiculous. Her white teeth were barred in a mask of dislike, and she snapped at the air in slight frustration. It would seem the wolf was trying to confuse her with the echoes of the rocks, but Stone had a rather useful way to crush that trick. Focusing inward she left behind her natural sight, summoning a technique she had only recently developed. When she reopened her eyes her pupil was gone. She focused in on the rock echoes, listening to their language and used the echoes to pin point the location of the other wolf. The image was foggy and dull green, but still she followed the other wolf's progress, silent as an ink lake in the dead of night.
With her limited speed there was little chance for her to catch Evelyn, but there were always more then one way to skin a wolf. This next maneuver would take a great deal of effort, and probably a headache too. However, she summoned up extra energy from her vast supply, courtesy of her young age, and forced the rocks to burst rapidly from under the feet of the other lumen, rising into a stone barrier and surrounding the older wolf, blocking out the sky as well.
Before collapsing onto the ground she let out a fierce howl into the air to summon reinforcement from other members, a splitting headache hammering her brain. It was time the end this foolishness, and she just had to hold her barrier long enough for someone else to show.

Evelyn was surprised when her opponent managed to block her escape and limit her movement by summoning a barrier of stone. She snorted as she listened to the other wolf collapse on the outside, deciding to lose her invisibility. She was still conscious, for Evelyn could feel her power in the stone, but she was weak and vulnerable. The Lumen knew this and she was aware that she had taken things much too far this time.
She sighed, "Foolish young wolf... This can't hold me." She opened her mouth wide enough for a small ball of light to form there. She stepped closer to the wall and a beam shot from her mouth. It was a concentrated energy and hot enough to melt the stone. She opened a circle large enough for her tiny frame to squeeze through.
Evelyn padded over to the wolf and sat beside her calmly, not intention of attacking. "You fool. That could have killed you, you know. Seeing as I got out of it, that move was a waste of time. I was only playing, my friend. I had no intentions of harming you." Her voice was quiet and calm, smooth and relaxing. She honestly didn't mean for this to happen and she knew she could get in trouble for it.
"I'm so tired of rules in this world... They bore me. Do this, do that. It gets bland very quickly, especially when you've lived as long as I have." Evelyn was aware of her cry to her packmates, hoping they'd come save her. "I only meant to play a harmless joke. There was no need to take it so seriously. Now, your life hangs on a branch." She paused, then continued, "I know you called for help. I will wait with you until they arrive." She did just that.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Stone felt the barrier break the moment the light hit it, it had been a weak attempt at best. The release of pressure was a welcome, thought also a damnation because it meant defeat. Cursing she berated herself for being slack on her ability practicing. She would have to learn to control the temperature of the stone in the future.
Through her returning vision she saw Evelyn approach her, and despite her exhaustion she battled her weakness and rose to her feet, trying to ease the trembling in her limbs. She still had some physical fight left, though her powers were useless from this point on. A tired growl rumbled from her chest, but it lacked the power she had hoped for.
Finally, the words of the Lumen broke through her headache, and their message caused her to prickle in contempt. Playing?! What a ridiculous thing to do in a pack's territory, the very thought lacked logic which was the foundation of Stone's thinking. Rules were but things that protected people, and though she was not always fond of them, when trespassing they were of importance. In a weary but angered voice she replied, "What a foolish concept, rules are of great importance as they help to instill harmony in a chaotic life. My choice to attack may not have been effective, but was no where near a waste of time. I have pack members to protect, and I would die to serve that purpose! If anything I know know my weakness, and I guarantee it shall not happen again." The last statement was said with vehemence, a determined ice cold blue stare replacing the weary one in her eyes. "You had but to say you meant no harm and the whole situation could have been avoided. The Philia Alliance is a friendly one based on equality, I would not have attacked you if you had simply answered the question." Sighing she sat down, seeing no need to be defensive anymore.

Evelyn smiled. She had spunk, that was for sure, and she saw the meaning behind her words when she spoke of them. Sure, rules were important, but not to the Lumen. Deciding whether or not the choice was a good one, she debated on telling her why she didn't like rules anymore. She snorted lightly, which turned into a growl when she heard the word "equality".
She bared her fangs in contempt, "There is no such thing as equality!" She rose to her feet and paced away toward the water, tail lashing and fur risen. She whirled around and faced her. "I don't care if you'd die for your pack! You're nothing but a pawn to them! You're expendable! Don't you understand that!?" Her anger was on the rise. "The things I've experienced...the things I've seen... If you had been me at your age you would understand why I hate and do not believe in such things."
Evelyn was unsure of where her rant was leading, then she figured now was the time to explain why she had such beliefs. "For the first century of my life I had no powers. None at all. I couldn't even sustain a different coat color. That was all because my pack despised everything in me and used me as their daily punching bag." She stepped closer to her once again, furious as her ears when back, flattening against her body. "For one hundred years was I a useless, pathetic being who deserved and wanted to die. I got sick of it one day, and I nearly killed everyone considered family."
"You speak to me of equality as though it's an obtainable thing. Let me tell you something, pup: it isn't and it never will be!" Evelyn snarled. "I play games to keep my mind away from foolish things like that. My concepts are different than yours, sure, but I have sturdy reasons behind those concepts just like you!" The Lumen was aware that she had been caught by the wolf and she owed her a wish, but she planned on letting it skip her mind so she wouldn't have to deal with it. "I could have killed you today, but I didn't because I didn't intend to. Cross my path with your kind of talk again and I might have to change my mind."
Evelyn turned away from her and sauntered downstream several yards, to the point where the she-wolf was mere the size of a large pebble in her sight. She walked to the edge of the creek and sat down, staring at her old reflection in the water. Unwanted tears seeped through her fur and she cursed at herself for letting it happen. Perhaps what she really needed was a family, a pack who could teach her equality. She didn't believe in it, but she could fathom the thought that it was probably possible. Besides, she still owed the Fighter a wish.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Bewilderment crossed the lupuse's face, and the words the Lumen spoke speed up her recovery rather efficiently by adding fuel to a fire already burning brightly. A pawn, well the idea was laughable at best. It had been her choice to join, it would be her choice to stay and it would be her choice to choose to live or die. Considering others to be pawns was entirely inaccurate in Stone's mind, life was full of choices, good, bad and worse. A pawn implied a soulless being destined to be played by others, and she certainly never let anyone dictate her actions. It was on the tip of her tongue to lash back at the jaded trespasser, but she could imagine her friend Magispar would not really appreciate the rash action.
Admittedly equality was rare, but the way this wolf put it, it was a figment of imagination. Listening to Evelyn recall her past was certainly justification enough for this way of thinking, but then again Stone's past wasn't exactly the most beautiful either. She was a fighter, not an emotional intellect and this whole thing was really quite out of the realm of her expertise. It seemed that perhaps this new comer was in need of an opportunity to have the concept proven to her...
She watched as the Lumen stalked off, allowing the other wolf to cool down for a bit. It would take effort, but Stone supposed that following the wolf was worth the headache, besides she did not want any other member to have to run into a pissed off Lumen. Getting up she sauntered off after Evelyn, sincerely hoping she would not have to fight again. The wolf had seemed sincere with her words of death, but it did little to phase Stone, death was inevitable anyways.
She sat on her haunches at a respectable distance and saw that the Lumen seemed to be crying. This did nothing to appease her sense of awkwardness, but it was an unavoidable and regular sensation for Stone. Quietly she started to talk, "I do understand why you may think equality to be unachievable, and I can't begin to imagine the sensation of being abused and segregated for so long. However, that being said I can sympathize with the feelings of loneliness and the abyss of a hopeless future." She paused, trying to summon the gumption to talk about her past, something she avoided as a general rule.
"Though my past is not as painful as yours seems to be, I have also spent years without comfort, acceptance, love and equality. I was separated from my own pack and left to die, I lived only by the age old concept of kill or be killed as well. So you can sort of see how I too found it difficult to believe in equality. But despite my trepidations, this pack has more then lived up to it's difficult creed. We have no alpha, we have but choices and trust. As for being expendable, well that is just nature's way in general and it is not such a bad thing, though I can guarantee that the Alliance considers each of its members as irreplaceable." She fell silent to watch and listen for Evelyn's response.

Evelyn was aware of the wolf approaching her, giving her props for remaining at a distance to where she was given space. The air around her was not hostile any longer, but the Lumen found it understanding when she revealed a little of what her life had been like, awkwardly almost. It was like she wasn't comfortable sharing it with a complete stranger. The Lumen could understand that. After all, she'd have felt awkward had she not been on an angry rant when she spilled her past to the wolf.
After several minutes of sitting in the silence and staring at her own reflection, Evelyn lifted her crimson gaze to her, face stoic, then confused. "Is this it...?" She stood sluggishly and approached her, nose nearly touching hers. "Is this...what makes you so happy? The ability...to give up your life for someone?" She inspected her further, seeing the color of her aura so bright and clear. Her voice was quiet, a whisper at best. "Your aura is so passionate and not once since you appeared has it died. It's like a fire that can never be put out...and it's bright yellow. It's so...beautiful, and difficult for me to understand. My aura is a pale blue, that of a disturbed trickster. My name is Evelyn, it means "light". Here I am with such a dull atmosphere. This...is what makes you so happy, and I don't even know your name."
Evelyn blinked, calming herself down all the way. Her anger seemed to drop out of the sky and through the air like a meteor. It was gone in an instant. She wondered...if she could ever be this happy. She never knew what that word really meant. She felt joy in tricking others, but the feeling never lasted long and she was back to wallowing in her own self pity. She sighed softly, closing her eyes for a moment, then opened them again to meet the Fighter's gaze.
"I wasn't going to give this to you at first and, if you had asked, I would have messed with it greatly. But, you are an honest and respectable female, so I won't be a trickster this time." Evelyn was positive she was confused, so she continued to explain. "You caught me, though for a few moments, in that stone wall of yours. It needs work, but it was impressive. Do you know the lore behind Lumen?" She didn't wait for an answer. "If you see a Lumen, then their invisibility is useless to them as long as they are in your eyesight. If you catch a Lumen, they are required to grant you one wish." A smile broke out across her maw, happy for once. "So, what will it be, my friend? Anything you want. Name it and I will grant it."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Stone had never been in such a...unique predicament before. She wasn't sure if it had been what she had said, or simply Evelyn's temperament that had eased some of the tension out of the atmosphere, but either way she was glad. Her realist oriented mind was having significant trouble grasping the concept of auras, but she forced her mind's limitation to stretch.
Yellow hey? And she had always considered herself to be rather dull, blending in with the scenery as nothing more then a fleck of dust. She had never considered it before, but perhaps it was the ability to fight for others that gave her joy...Maybe that was what had spared her from death when falling of the cliff? The idea that she had a purpose in life was comforting, the knowledge that she did matter was something she had learned to live without.
Though she could not perceive auras or possess and particular talent at reading others souls, it seemed to her that the other wolf was much more then a trickster. And so she took one more liberty and proposed, " If anything your light blue aura suggests a being with a great ability for care, compassion with the ability to teach many lessons to others. I think there must be more to you then a trickster, based solely on the few minutes I've listened to you."
Now there was this issue of a wish, the lupus had never heard of such a concept. In fact, she really could not think of any reason to make one, she had what she needed and anything else she got herself. Catching a wolf for the sole purpose of making a wish seemed like a rather unethical activity, and she could imagine how sad it would be for Evelyn to be constantly hunted only to be used.
She thought about it for a couple minutes before making her mind up and saying, "I don't mean to offend you, but I have no need to use you for wishing purposes. However, if you insist I would like to wish for you to give the Philia Alliance a temporary try so that we may have to opportunity to show you that there is at least one place that wolves are free to live in peace. We are bound by our creed to treat others as equals, regardless of their race, appearances or background and you would be more then free to roam around as you please. The pack is small yet, so we share a stronger bond then larger packs and the other members are not quite as prickly as me." A small smile appeared on her face, she was fully aware that she tended to be too trigger happy. She hoped her wish would not offend Evelyn, she had merely thought that maybe her pack could give the Lumen a place to finally find happiness and joy.

Evelyn blinked multiple times. What a strange wish. Why not choose something like power or speed, something useful so she couldn't be beaten? Why would she wish for something like that? However, the Lumen was aware of what she had promised the wolf. Maybe a wish was a silly thing, and she was almost offended by her words. She kept her mouth shut and stared at her with her crimson gaze.
"...Very well. Wish granted." She said, throwing her head back in a howl. A light appeared above her head, then it imploded in a small burst of sparks. The wish was made. There was no taking it back. She sighed. "I'll fight for this pack, if you don't mind. If you're the prickly one, there must be some talent in me." She nearly laughed at that statement.
Evelyn trotted over to the bushes and tuck her head in one, snipping a lily from the ground, then walking back over to the wolf. She changed the color of it, from yellow to a different color for each petal. She looked at the Fighter. "If you eat this, then your power will be magnified. It's a gift for you and I won't take no for an answer, but you may only have it if you tell me your name."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Stone breathed a sigh of relief when Evelyn accepted her wish, and was not entirely surprised when she offered to be a fighter, she would make a formidable protector. "I guess that makes you like me, a fighter. Know that my wish did not imply a permanent position, as in you may choose to leave anytime you like after giving it a shot." Hopefully the Lumen would like the bunch though, so far the members seemed genuinely like great wolves.
She watched the Lumen pull a lily from the ground and marveled as the wolf caused the petals to change colours. She wanted her to eat the flower? Stone hoped this was not a trick to poison her, thought Evelyn did not seem the type to play dark jokes. Seeing little chance for harm Stone replied, "My name is Keinvarii, though feel free to call me Stone. I will accept your offer, and can only give my thanks...and a heart felt welcome in return." She took the flower in her mouth, and chewed down, vaguely concerned about what was going to happen.
The taste that greeted her tongue was inexplicable, a daring mixture that tasted like...strength if such a thing was possible. Swallowing she felt heat spread through her veins, and her vision flashed in and out of their two forms. Soon the heat seemed to solidify and dissolve, leaving her limbs feeling unbreakable before fading to normal again. Dazed she blinked a few time, that flower packed a punch!

Evelyn smiled happily as she watched the Lupus devour the lily, slowly at first, then it was completely gone. Her expression was weird for a few moments, as if she was afraid the Lumen was attempting to poison her, but then it changed to an indescribable emotion, as if the magic had worked. She chuckled, being shy like she was supposed to be.
"It won't place you to my caliber, but it was certainly give you control over that move you used on me." She told Stone. "You'll be able to sustain it for long amounts of time without passing out as you did earlier." She laughed lightly, then thought of something else. "Would you mind showing me around? I hope it isn't too much to ask...
Evelyn felt the need to know the pack boundaries and know where everything was and how to get there the quickest ways if she were to defend the pack in a time of need. There were only so many things the old Lumen cared about. Perhaps, in who knows how long, the Alliance would be one of them.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/5pev.png] Well this increase in power would certainly save a lot of time and undoubtedly headaches Stone thought to herself. Showing Evelyn around seemed like a rather good idea, it should give Stone the opportunity to meet other members and to familiarize herself with the borders as well. She had not really been in the pack that long, but already it felt like home.
Nodding her head in approval, Stone replied, "Sounds like a good idea to me, essentially our territory is divided into five areas, that are known to us as the Kytalae Hollow, the Aehlii Plains, Riala's Creek which is were we are situated at the moment, the Banks of the Aquiri which surround Riala's Creek, and the Poppy Meadow which is rather accurately named in my opinion.
It is relatively simple to determine the borders as on the north side our territory will slope upwards and become much colder, this is the Shinkou Mountain Range. To the south east the land will turn into a valley known as the Lumera Valley and also home to the Children of Hvitur Ari. Perhaps we should make our way towards the poppy meadow, it is a nice place to relax and try to find some peace and quiet.

Evelyn listened attentively to Stone, taking in every aspect of the wolf's words. She was sure to note the places the places she spoke of, making absolutely positive that she was aware of each place in her new territory. If she was to defend the pack, then it would be good to know these things.
"Poppy meadow...?" She murmured to herself. "Let's go then." The Lumen had reverted to her shy self, not wishing to say much at that point. She had made a comrade and she no longer wished to be her tricking self. She turned her head in the direction of the meadow.
She had passed it on her way to the creek. It was a beautiful place, but she mostly loved it for the colors. The poppies were tall, as tall as wolves, and they splashed a gorgeous painting on the dull tan hillside. Her tail curled slightly at the thought of returning to the beautiful meadow.
