Sunny day, it was the perfect day fo the black dragon. Her scales seemed to be irradescent in the light as she moved over the land. She knew wolves where around for she could smell them and see them as little dots below her. As she moved she soon foudn a place to land. She tilted her head a bit at the smell of blood on the air before she zoned in on the ground. Her wings folded tightly to her, snapping shut as she zoomed down to the ground.
When she was close enough teh wings snapped open and she landed gracefully onto the mountian top. She smiled and curled up ontop of a rock. Her neck creened in different directoins as she looked for signs of the wolves that lived there. Her eyes swirled their natural silver color as she looked around for the signs of life.

To be completely fair she had been avoiding the caves. Sighing, the female leaped up the rock staircase, bounding up towards the top of the canyon. She still had a glimmer of hope that she'd see the grey and black form of her daughter prancing back to the canyon. She bounded to the top, and her hazel eyes immediately veered around her, catching no sight of anything else around her.
She realised she was holding her breath and exhaled sharply, a scowl planting itself firmly across her face. The sun was warm on her fur, the spring air a little chilly. Suddenly though the sun was blotted out of the sky, and Rhia blinked, turning her head upwards and staring into the sky. Her eyes widened as she realised the form was a dragon. She snarled, crouching down, and glancing around for cover. She could try to scale the rocks down to the caves, or make a beeline for cover near the scrubs.
She chose the latter option, lurching forward and moving towards a shrub. There was a small den near the shrub and she ducked into it, concealing her rust and black body. She turned around so that her head was facing the entrance to the den so she could look out. Hopefully the dragon would be on its way soon.

Ardents head snaped to the sound of paws. She watched the creature realize she was there then dart for cover. She smiled softly before lowering her head, and looking where the wolf had dissapeared. "If you come out i promise not to bite. I wish to learn about this place and the wolves that live here. Perhaps you can help me?" Her accent was thick for she was a dragon but she had learned how to speak many lanquages and wolf was one of them.
Her black head stayed low to teh ground to show that she was not here to harm the wolf. It was a bit cool and if the creature got to cold then she would make a fire for her. At least she thought the wolf was a her before the creature dissapeared.

She was still in the air when she darted into the den. Rhia had never encountered a dragon before, and as such, she had no idea how powerful, if at all, their senses were. So she believed, and hoped, that the dragon hadn't seen her. As much as the she-wolf was brave, she knew she stood no chance in the face of a dragon. She was brave, but not stupid. There was no way she'd let herself be so easily killed when she had a mate and pups to protect. She hissed, realising she should have warned the rest of the pack about the dragon. She could just see little Meso, crawling over the top of the canyon... she pushed the thought from her mind, her jaws clamping tight.
The thought was easily forgotten when a voice rang out, booming almost across the top of the canyon. Again, the myou hissed, her ears laying flat against her head. She listened to the words, twitching her nose. Dragons spoke wolf? She was surprised she understood what the beast was staying, and she poked her head out a bit to hear the words better. It was obvious the dragon knew she was there, and from what she understood, the dragon wasn't looking for a fight. Obviously she was not going to be quick to believe that; such a creature could easily be lying for an easy meal.
"What help do you need dragon, lord of the skies?" she snarled a bit, her words a little sarcastic and patronizing. She realised that was probably not the tone she should have taken and sighed, crawling out a bit more. "Why would a dragon need help from a wolf?"

Ardent waited for the little one to come out of hiding. Finally she did and Ardent got a good view of her. She looked over the female, head to toe, cranning her neck to see all of the wolf. "You are a Myou correct?" Ardent shifted a bit to get a better position and a better view of the other. She chuckled softly as she watched the other.
"Thank you for coming out of hiding. The reason i ask for the help of a wolf is because i wish to learn more. I know that the wolves are pretty much the lord of the lands in this place and while my kind and i are the lords of the skys it does not mean we know everything." She shrugged slightly before laying her head back down on the rock. She moved her tail a bit to get more comfortable as the sun glimmered on her scales, warming her.
"In return for letting me learn from your pack and not attack me." She smiled slightly in her dragonic way. "I shall help in any way possible. If you wish to recieve warmth during the color i can help build a fire and so forth." She lookeda t the wolf as her eyes turned a dark purple. "What do you say?

She didn't want to make a big fuss and alert the pack members; she'd rather the dragon just maul her to death and leave. Her nose twitched as she thought of ways to make this work, still using the little den she had as safety. If she needed to she could pop right back into it, and hopefully curl up so that she would be safe for a bit. Her claws dug into the dry earth as she watched the dragon with hazel eyes.
"Yes," she replied to the dragon's question, hesitent and wary of what the dragon was attempting to accomplish. Of course, when the dragon opened her mouth, she soon learned of what it intended. The dragon... wanted to learn. The explanation sounded strange and Rhiannon almost wouldn't have believed it. But what dragon would go to such lengths for a meal, when all it needed to do was reach down and snatch her up in its jaws? She pursed her lips for a second and continued to listen.
The next bit intriguided the myou alpha. The dragon would be learning from them, and offer her services in return. That meant that Rhiannon had a dragon on her side, a most powerful weapon to wield against her enemies. A smile began to creep its way across her muzzle as the gears in her brain turned with each exciting thought. A dragon; pure power, strength... she could get more land for her pack, expand... no one would be safe, neither on land nor in the air. Her tail began a slow wag behind her and she glanced up towards the dragon. Of course, there was no way Rhiannon could be sure that the dragon was not indeed lying to her, but her thirst for power took the better of her.
"I think, Dragon, that I very much like this idea of yours. Say, what is your name?" she asked, taking a tentative step forward, and looking up. "I am Rhiannon, alpha female of the Styrrstdar Pack, the pack which has lived in this canyon for the past while."

Ardent watched the female as she processed that she wasnt going to be eaten. The female dragon had to duck her head slightly to keep from smiling. She didnt mind torturing her prey sometimes but these wolves, or at least this pack was not her prey. She didnt prey on those she learned from. Maybe their species but not them specificly. So that was the deal she was basicly making with Rhiannon.
She listened to the fem as she spoke. "My name is Ardent. It is nice to meet you Alphess of the Styrrstdar pack. Did i pronounce that correctly?" She was still learning some of the wolf lanquage and as such she would be learning from the pack in all ways. Hopefully though they did not know her nickname or anyone around Rhiannon would run. She was called The Firebreather for a reason.

She had seen them flying in the sky, but never really in person before. Their beauty and size was awe inspiring, and Rhiannon couldn't help but stare. It was no wonder wolves were stunned in their sites. There was rumour of a dragon in the crevice, but Rhia hadn't ventured far enough into it to find out. Though, she decided, it seemed like a foolish idea to go looking for a dragon.
She nodded briskly, storing the dragon's name. Ardent; it was a simple name, and yet, fitting for the dragon. Her voice sounded strange, with an accent, but she attributed that to the fact that dragons didn't usually speak wolf. She fumbled the name of the pack, but it was close enough. Rhiannon nodded in reply. "You speak wolf well, Ardent," she replied, dipping her head a bit.
"I'm not sure if theres anywhere that may fit you easily. There is the cavern, but that is populated by dozens of griffins. There is rumour of another dragon living there, but as of yet, it's only tales," she said, pursing her lips together. "Perhaps there is another cavern in the side of the canyon that may make a good home for you? I could send some scouts looking," she said.
