It was hot, hotter than normal at least and Georgi was feeling it. Walking through the tall grasses, he managed to keep his head above them, alert for any signs of what he was looking for. Water. He was desperate for a cool drink right now, and had been for a better part of the day. Summer truly was coming, water was becoming rarer to find and he was scared he’d have to give up his search for a pack in favor of a cool den for the next few months.
As he pondered his situation, his amethyst eyes caught a tell-tale glimmer. Freezing for a moment, he stared and found that he had indeed found a patch of water. Hurrying over, he smiled slightly at the expanse of water before him. Slowly lowering his head to drink, he almost whined in relief as he felt his parched throat and mouth taking in the much needed liquid. He unceremoniously flopped down on the cooler soil near the water, rolling slightly as he cooled off, both of his tails wagging lazily. Finally satisfied, he just laid there, all four paws in the air like a pup, basking in the cooler air.

For simplicity’s sake I am going to say that this thread happens just before all of the wildfire stuff that has been going on recently. So at this point, Toby isn’t officially leader, but he’ll accept you all the same!))
A small maroon Lyxxus roamed the plains. The dry grasses crinkled and cracked under his paws. He hadn’t been out this way in a while and had decided to take a look about. Their pack was small and patrols weren’t something that took priority. Things had been rather quiet as of late and he felt comfortable in his new home. He worried about his sister for a moment; he knew that things had been hard on her lately. She tried to hide it, but Toby could see the sadness that crept into her eyes from time to time. He shook his head to chase the image from his mind.
Tobias sighed audibly. It was really too hot to be wandering around like this. He spied a thin tree, one of the few that dotted the landscape here, and headed for it. From there he could get a decent view above the high grasses, and then he could head back.
Toby climbed to the strong lower branches of the tree without too much trouble; his small size was actually an asset in tree climbing, although his four tails weighed him down a bit. He took in the view of the flat plains that spread out in all directions; nothing seemed to be amiss. He was about to hop down when the smallest of breezes tickled his nose with an unfamiliar scent. He squinted out into the sunlight, trying to pinpoint the source. His amethyst eyes finally caught slight movement near a small pool of water.
With a quick leap down from the tree, Tobias picked his way through the tall grasses toward the stranger and the pool. He couldn’t quite keep his head above the grasses, but he had the scent to guide him now. Finally he poked his head through the tall blades and was pleased to see another Lyxxus. He smiled politely. “Hello there. What bring you here?” he asked as he approached the pool to take a drink himself.
