First one Sister, Now the other... Flynn watch out

The day matched the cobras thoughts. Dark, Rainy and pissed off. Lightning slashed over head for the thousand time. The myous body thrashed on the ground, her body convulsing as the creatures inside her belly wanted out. She growled for she couldnt really think. The pain was insane and she had never felt anything like it before. She growled and howled into the night as she finally lay panting agianst a cool rock, her body soaked from the rain and the sweat.

Her mind called for Flynn while the snake in her wanted to kill him for causing this pain in her. She growled, closing her eyes and pushing as hard as she could. Her breathing increased as she pushed. Where was FLynn?

[Flynn]

So many storms and the spring had barely begun. A small, gray drowned rat looking thing ran through the underbrush. His whiskers were dripping with water, his eyes useless as always, his nose dulled by the water. He loathed foul weather. He had a hard enough time getting around without the added weather hazards. Luckily his paths through the jungle had long sense been memorized. Though occasionally he would trip over a felled branch or misplaced bush. His urgency was by no means related to the convulsing female. For all he knew she was not due for a few days. In his stained jaws he carried the carcass of some unidentified pheasant like thing. The feathers stuck to the roof of his mouth in an uncomfortable way, but he kept going.

Even though he was fed well enough to get through a few more hours of the night, he had the strangest urges to bring food back to Rosella. The shrew in him hated it, but the wolf in him relished the idea of helping his female. His white underbelly was indistinguishable from the rest of his muddied pelt. Of course the storm had hit when he was in one of the lower parts of the territory. A small flash flood and some mud pits had loomed out of no where to attempt to grab him. Though the scrappy male had managed to get to higher ground as well as grow nearer to the den site.

Once within the Commons, he shook his pelt vigorously, sending mud clumps and dirty water to cake the rocks and splat against some trees. The small myou grumbled to himself, only to freeze in place one he heard a horrendous howl. A string of curses flowed out of his stuffed mouth, yet between the fowl and the thunder nothing could really be heard in the night. Red flags were going up in his mind...something was wrong and dangerous. He had to be careful.

Of course the terrible noises were coming from some rocks near Rosella's den. He crept carefully, keeping his ears, nose and whiskers alert. It was not long to find the smell of sweat mixed into the rainstorm, as well as wet fur that was not his own. Soon he saw a fuzzy, writhing shape, "Rosthella? What are you doin' outh here?" He position himself out of striking distance, but angled a little toward her den. For some reason he felt like she was going to attack him, his instinct told him to get her in the den, by whatever means necessary. Even if it meant he was bait...

Rosella rolled around in pain as the first puppy was threatening to come out. She couldnt hear flynn approaching cause of her own noises. She wasnt worried about others coming cause if they did she would kill them gladly to take a way a bit of this pain. However right when she was wishing for someone to come near for her to kill Flynn called out to her. She growled her eyes seeming to clow a bit from the pain.

"Go away or your going to get hurt." She growled, her body shakign violently as her body started to move towards him. The Snake was taking over and wanted to eat flynn. The wolf was worried though because Flynn was hers. Her body collapsed at the edge of the den as another wracking pain went through her body. A scream cut from her throat as her body writhed on the ground, the first pups head coming out. "Flynn get ssssomething sssso i dont kill you. FInd me meat pleasssse!" She screamed at him as the first pup plopped out.

When she turned to look at the pup it looked to be a type of zebra myou. Before she could think if she wanted to kill it or not another pup was comming. Her body moved ont he ground, moving the dirt all over the place. The little zebra was staying close but not close enough to get squished. Seemed it was a smart pup. Hopefully Flynn would get back soon with something of meat that she could kill so she wouldnt kill the good pups.

[Flynn]

For a moment he wondered if she was as blind as he was. Did she not see the food in his mouth? Did she not smell it? There was a lot of mud and rain...perhaps that was clouding her senses. All he could do was fluff up his body to show she was not running. He did clamp harder on the bird in his mouth, causing blood to flow before shifting so that the scent might reach her.

"I'm not going anywhere. I already HAVE meat for you." He narrowed his beady little eyes, primarily to keep water out, but also trying to scrutinize her movements. The shrew in him was screaming for him to leave the area, but he ignored it, the wolf instinct was powerful this evening. He came closer to allow her to get a better whiff of the meal he had for her. He tossed it into the den and looked back at her, for once being the more dominate of the two, "Now get in there before you all catch cold."

He had never thought of being a father before, but now it seemed natural for him to be one. He moved to pick up the wriggling pup, willing himself not to eat it. He would walk it into the den, he was careful not to break any skin on the....horse thing? He was also wary of a surprise attack from Rosella.

Rosella didnt see the meat only thing she saw was red. Then she smelled the blood, the smell permitting the air around her. She growled and raced after the food, capturing it and snapping its neck even more then it already was. She growled and gulped it down before her body was wracked with the pain of more birth. Within 5 minutes 7 pups came out of her. She growled as she looked at 3 that where not strong at all. She snaped up one, and shredded the second one in half. Then the last one that was just squirming made her snort and toss it to Flynn to dispose off. She gulped her half then tossed the other to flynn.

"Thank youuuuu." She sighed and nuzzled her 4 that looked strong and healthy. She looked at Flynn. "Come pleassse."

[Flynn]

He made sure to keep his distance, but he did lay the pup he carried in next to the mother as she was weeding out the weak. He did not hesitate to take his share. The wolf in him screamed defiance, but the shrew was getting hungry. Adrenaline was not his favorite thing when it compromised his metabolism. He shook his pelt to free his fur of the wet that was outside. Lightning struck, sending a glow into the gloomy den. He was able to see her shape and the four next to her briefly.

His tattered ears flickered forward as her voice came to him. He didn't want to get eaten, but he did want to see his surviving offspring. He crept closer and sniffed each of them. Two smelled like prey...that was a little disheartening to him, but he could fix that. Raise them like he and Rosella had turned out.

When he came near enough she nuzzled into his neck, moving a little to curl under him. She was really cold from the rain and then from the anxiety of having the pups. Currently all four were drinking from her belly. She was curious to know if she was going to have eggs or not but it seems she has live babies. She closed her eyes and leaned agianst his frame. She hoped he would lay down and just cuddle even though that was only her wolf part that wanted it. That and her wolf had calimed him as hers even if the snake still thought of him as prey.

"what ssssshould we name themm?" she hissed softly as she just laid agianst his warmth.

It was strange having her move under him, he was shorter than her as it was. Her damp fur against his own was uncomfortable, but the wolf in him didn't care. The shrew was sulking in the back of his mind, muttering about lying with a predator. The wolf was proud of having a family to defend. Even if the shrew was bitter and could not see the reason behind sticking around this long.

He sat down when she leaned into him, it was easier to get a secure base that way. His ears were flat on his head, tense from the contact with the female. He was always tense around her in these intimate moments. He always had a feeling she was luring him into a false sense of security. His ears twitched slightly when she asked him what to name them.

"I dun know...maybe we should wait...you know see what they are like in a week or so?" He really had not talent for thinking of names. Odds were that he would name them after food items if he thought too long about it. He turned his head to look at her. "What do you think?"
