Sandralina gave her wings a hard thrust, kicking up a cloud of dust as she managed to land on the edge of a canyon. Her long, thick ebony claws created rivets in the dry dirt beneath her feet. She shook out her wings and pelt, spreading her forked tail to relieve it of the air light feeling it had gathered during flight. The barn swallow Myou gazed around with her amber eyes and wondered if anyone else was around this area, knowing that she stuck out against the desert lands.
She had smelled the territory markers as she approached the lands from above and didn't, at first, want to intrude. However, there was something about the place that attracted her to it. She glanced down over the ledge of the canyon and spotted a river at the bottom. As thirst as she was, she was more hungry than she was thirsty. She didn't want to hunt on pack lands, so she decided she would find something to eat and chase it off pack lands before killing it. Technically, she wouldn't be taking the pack's food if it weren't on their territory when she killed it.
Sandralina opened and closed the feathers of her tail, then left them open as she turned to sniff out a rabbit or something. Her head was lowered as she sniffed at the ground and searched for something to eat. As she walked, her wings remained in a folded position at her sides and her claws continued making rivets in the dirt. Instead of catching the scent of prey, she caught the scent of blood. It was old, but it was there. She lifted her head and turned it to the side.
On the rocks and ground before her were small patches of old, dried blood. It had obviously been there for awhile and the smells were familiar with that of the pack scent she had picked up on her way in. She wondered what a pack would be doing fighting against one another, unless this pack was a traditional one, where you had to fight for your position in a pack, fight even to get into a pack. There were packs like that out there and Sandralina knew this, all to aware that she was standing on that pack's very lands.

She had been chasing the creature for almost an hour now, moving from hiding spot to hiding spot. The male was a thick, well fed creature, but fast. Her body was not built for speed, but for the strength and stamina she had. So chasing the little bugger was taking a while. She knew he was tiring though, and soon, he would be hers. Purring at the thought she flexed her toes, claws digging into the loamy earth.
The jackalope was only a few yards away, and Rhiannon was crouched, her body silently moving towards him. Crrrrrack! she stepped on a twig and her prey botled. Snarling, she propelled herself forwards, chasing the jackalope. She swerved with him, pushing herself harder and harder. He was quick, but visibly worn down. She almost bounced for joy when she snapped at its heels, watching him tumble and fall. She swerved, slowing herself down and pouncing on the creature. Her paws hit it first, crushing the thing beneath her before her head sought out its neck. She snapped it quickly, ending the herbivore's life quickly, and as painlessly as possible.
Contented with her catch she began a slow walk back towards the canyon edge. Her fur was slick with sweat and she was heaving to catch her breath. 'Stupid jackalope,' her mind hissed, and Caedmon chuckled at her. Her reply was only a snort, and upon inhaling she noted a new scent. Pausing and stopped, stared and then pulled her body into a slow lope. There was a stranger in the lands, and she needed to get to the edge before the new wolf tried to get into the pack lands.
She stopped, finding what seemed like a keiyou before her. Her brow furrowed as she stared, walking towards the female, her tail raised in visible authority. She held the jackalope until almost the last moment, dropping it to her side and then stepping over it protectively. "Hello stranger, what is it you are seeking?"

Sandralina's ears pricked up and she whirled around in surprise. Her wings spread and her tail did as well, as to instinctively make herself appear bigger. She didn't move from her position even when she saw it was another wolf, another myou like her. Her tail feathers opened and closed in happiness as she smiled brightly at her. Her amber eyes landed on the jackalope at her side and her stomach growled, reminding her how hungry she was. She pushed it aside though and put her focus on the wolf before her.
"Hello!" Her cheerful demeanor shone through her dark pelt. "I'm Sandralina. Call me Sandra, Sandry, or Sandy. Something like that...makes life easier. Well, I was looking for something to eat a moment ago. It has been a day or two since I last ate." Sandralina shuffled her wings into a resting position at her sides and her second soul chuckled at her, happily of course. Estoni was a cheerful second soul, being a barn swallow and all. Sandra ignored her and smiled more at the wolf.
She moved her wing a little so that it gestured to the land. "This is a nice place. It's very pretty, especially the river and the canyon." Sandralina's amber eyes sparkled happily and she giggled some. Perhaps she was too cheerful for her own good, but she liked being that way. Considering her past, Estoni was the only one who managed to keep her on the cheerful side of life and stopped her from becoming evil like the other 99% of her family had become. She watched the stranger, wondering what was to come of this conversation.

With her chest puffed out in pride, tail raised, she figured she showed enough authority to lower the other female's guards. She heard the stomach growls, but ignored them. If she chose to join the pack then Rhiannon could help her out there.
The female spoke back cheerily and Rhiannon almost gagged. So cheery. So... she just let a single brow slide upwards slightly. Sure, it was nice to have some brightness, but this female was bubbly, totally the opposite of herself. Plus she didn't seem to want to stop talking. Her stress level had been high, and instead of becoming curt and angry like she normally would have, Rhiannon let the emotions turn into amusement. The female was amusing Rhiannon with her antics. She decided that Sandra sounded like the best nickname for the female before her. She confirmed that she hadn't eaten, and she nodded a bit, her lips parted in a slight smile.
"Well, hello Sandra," she said, her voice low as she looked at her. The giggle only made Rhia's smile grow a bit. She could hear Caedmon laughing, and had he been a physical entity he would be rolling around on the ground laughing at her. When was Rhiannon ever this lenient with over perkiness? She turned her attention back to the female. "I'm glad you like our lands. I am the alpha of these lands," she replied, adding to her previous comment. Her hazel eyes flicked towards the canyon, then back to the jackalope. She contemplated for a moment, before leaning down and nosing it towards the female. Rhiannon was surely on something. Caedmon made a remark about her sudden friendlyness and she pushed him back mentally.
"Here, eat," she said, motioning towards her kill.

"Oh, my apologies, then. Had I known, I would have made a better appearance of myself." Sandralina allowed her wings and tail to spread out, keeping them level as she bowed low to the female. Honestly, had she known in the first place that the stranger was the alpha, she would have done this instead of introducing herself like the blubbering fool she was. After a moment of remaining in that position, Sandra lifted herself back to a standing stance and folding her wings in again, closing her tail.
Estoni giggled in the back of her mind, Such a nice girl, you are. Sandra rolled her eyes a little and ignored her. As chirpy as the soul was, she could sometimes get annoying to the barn swallow myou. "I'm sorry if I come off as overly friendly, but I have my reasons for being so happy with life. The world could use a little brightness nowadays..." She noticed as the female moved a jackalope towards her, telling her to eat it. Sandra hesitated, was this really okay? She wanted to chow down on it so badly, but thought it better to ask. After all, she was a stranger here, and she wondered why the alpha was kind enough to offer her food.
"Are you sure? I mean, I'm a stranger. I could always leave and catch my own food." Sandralina waited for the reply, but was eying the jackalope hungrily. She wanted to eat it so badly. She reminded herself over and over that she was a guest on these lands, and that taking food wouldn't be the brightest thing. It was rude, actually, at least to her. The seven year old myou growled at her stomach when it made the protesting noises again, telling her to just take the morsel. "Shut up."

Draco was on the outskirts of the territory, sitting on the border line his scaly tail wrapped around his front paws, her ears erect and long forked tongue tasting the air. He did this often nowadays for he had nothing better to do and his craving for company had driven him insane for short periods of time. He had taken an immediate liking to the temperatures of the canyon and preffered basking in the hot sun while laying in the sand. But now he was intent on finding someone to talk to, he had recently gotten into a scrap with another loner and had a few scratches to show it. He had one, hence his good mood all the sudden.
He flicked his tongue out once more catching something on the breeze above him. He looked up to see a wolf above him soaring over the border and into the packs territory. He was curious oto where this female was headed and with a shrug he stood up, shaking sand and dust from his dark fur. He turned his head to clean himself up a bit flattening his fur and looking like a gentle- men he started to follow her trail. Tongue sliding in and out frequently in order not to lose the scent, since his hearing was not that great. He started to walk, his toes spread and claws scraping against the rocky ground.
He had crossed the border long ago but he walked on confidently, head held high and the tip of his long tail curled showing that if he could lift it more than a few inches of the ground it would be up high. He caught the scent of prey and blood aswell as the scent of another wolf. He looked up to see the female land and approach another female that was much smaller. He continued to walk towards them in no rush but wondering what they were up to. He slid his tongue out once more, it looking funny sliding out from under his lips, this time without meaning to, his tongue worked better than his nose and he usually flicked it out self conciously but for now he wished to keep his large black forked tongue hidden as he continued to approach the females. He gave a half hiss, half bark with a bit of a rasp to it, to announce his arrival and came to stand in front of the two waiting to be adressed.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,475,true] | [atrb=background,http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/ad144/FallArrow/RHIANNONbg4.png]How was it that Rhiannon seemed to attract all the hyper, happy wolves? She almost snorted in amusement. Though they seemed to get on her nerves more often than not, they lifted the pack spirits and brought joy to everyone. The supposed keiyo before her spoke, apologising for her appearance. Rhiannon smiled a little bit, her eyes sparkling with amusement. She bowed before her, wings out. How graceful. Even if the little pipsqueak was a flighty, joyous little thing, she was very pretty and dainty. Rhiannon nodded her head, acknowlegding the bow before her and smiled. "Do not worry, Sandra, I am hardly the picture perfect alpha type. I'm a tad small," she said with a wicked grin, her tail flicking, "but as I'm sure you know, it's the small ones you gotta watch out for." Somehow amidst all the chaos of new members, of the tournament, of... everything, she was still able to joke around. Perhaps it was the new found faith she had in her pack, in her members. She had friends now in her pack, other wolves to depend on. It wasn't just her with all the responsibility. This notion allowed her some grace and fun.
"Don't worry Sandra, we all have things about ourselves which may not suit everyone. And I, for one, am glad for your cheerfulness this morning. My day could use some brightening," she replied, waiting for Sandralina to take the food she had offered. She could easily catch more, and she had food stashed down at the cave. With so many members there were lots of mouths to feed but also lots of paws to catch the food. The members of the cadre never went hungry.
"It's fine, eat," she said, nodding her head, laughing even more when her stomach began to gurgle and the wolf told it to cease. "No really, it's fine. It's not often I meet another wolf who makes me smile so," she answered, before a scent caught her nose and her muscles tautened. She growled, turning her body and seeing the barking form of another wolf. This wolf was strange looking, and she noticed the oddness of its hiss as he approached. Her ears were perked fowards, stance spread out as the male approached.
"And who are you?" she asked, her eyes slightly narrowed. It was something about males that seemed to always set her off more; perhaps it was that they were almost always larger than her, or that he had caught her at such a vulnerable moment. She tried to relax her body - he may have meant no harm, and moved so that she was in between the female, Sandra, and the approaching male. At least if he did prove to be vicious, she'd have something between him and her new 'friend'.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,422,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb390/Bluewillowtree/Sandramid.jpg]"Yes... I've met some rather small, feisty myou. I suppose I'm a rather large myou myself..." She was aware that she was about as big as a myou would get and she was fine with that, but because of her second soul she honestly expected to stop growing years ago. She expected to remain short and small, quick and light on her feet, just as a barn swallow was. She sighed, glad to hear that she still was being encouraged to eat the jackalope.
As Sandralina approached the female's catch and lowered her head to take a bite, she smiled and was glad to hear that she was able to make the alphess have a better day. Her teeth stripped away the fur and dug into the soft, tender meat below it. Her tongue savored the juicy taste as she swallowed and devoured most of the morsel. When she was finished, she lifted her head high and licked her jowls excessively, bowing her head to the female. "Thank you. I needed that."
It was then that another scent caught her attention, one she had not caught before, and one that certainly wasn't of her myou companion's pack. The scent was different and, when she turned her body to look at him, she was immediately put at unease. He was strange looking, with a long tail and a strange tongue, a weird voice as well. Her feathers ruffled and her tail spread wide, her wings following suit. She made herself appear larger than she was, flashing the bright colors of her undersides as a warning.
Her amber eyes watched the female alpha move to settle between Sandra and the male. She didn't say anything, just watched with curiosity at the strange act of...defense? She wasn't sure if that's what it was, but she remained silent out of respect. Perhaps she could gain a home here. Being bigger than the smaller myou, she was able to easily look over her head and hold the male's gaze, her face as stoic as she could keep it. This was no time to be cheerful, it was time to be serious. | |

Draco came to stand in front of the two females and he watched as the smaller of the two came to stand in between him an the other female then gave a bit of a chuckle as the larger spread her wings forward flashing the colours in a warning. He approached her and raised his scaly foot with toes and three inch long curved claws instead of pads and normal wolf claws then placed the smooth part on her wing pushing it down.
"Now now dear, I mean no harm, there is no need to be defensive around me, I will not hurt you. I only wish to join this pack, now where is the alpha so I may speak with her?" he removed his foot from her wing but continued to stand tall and proud, head held high and eyes unwavering from the winged female.
"May I ask youre names? Mine is Draco and it is a pleasure to meet you" he had decided to play the sweet and kind male this time for it may help him later. He swished his scaly tail in the dirt as he waited for the females answers so that he could be accepted into the pack as soon as possible and maybe seek out some of the members. He gave each a nod and tasted the air with his black forked tongue then sat down.
