Vereine Talks , Vereine Thinks |
, Dupre Thinks Water rippled as the male lifted his paw, creating a cascade of droplets and causing more ripples to appear. The water pulled down at the short fur on his paw and glinted against the light. Vereine examined it with a look of pure boredom plastered across his face. With a sigh, he ventured farther into the spring, stopping when the water just passed his stomach. Flicking his tail, the sound of splashing water filled his ears. The water was cool and a great welcome as the heat had continuously harassed him earlier. Vereine was no fan of the heat, not in the slightest. He still questioned himself as to why he had decided to join a pack that resided in the scorching canyon. He debated whether to just drench himself in the cool waters or remain dry on most of his body. The heat really did bother him… But he didn’t want to walk around later looking like a moron, soaking wet… Oh hell, why not he snickered and padded out till the water reached above his back. He spread his wings out slightly, letting the feathers soak up the water. It wasn’t as if he would be doing any flying later so he might as well just get them wet. It was odd really, Dupre was far too quiet, and amazingly hadn’t thought of any snide remarks yet. Though it was still quite early in the morning, he would’ve made some kind of comment by now. Oh don’t worry about me, Knoxie, just a little bored, that’s all. the voice spoke, its tone seeming much too cheery to be bored. Oh really? Dupre? Bored? My, what has the world come too? Vereine replied in mock horror. He could sense the second soul’s snickering in the back of his thoughts, making a smug grin slowly spread across his lips. He continued his little swim, just drifting about and trying to amuse himself with the water and reflections. Today’s start had been relatively calm, and the fact that Dupre had actually decided to shut up was just brilliant. Growing tired of the water, he quickly got out, simply resting on the edge of the spring. Usually he kept his wings tucked in close to his sides up he let them dry and have their air, spreading them and letting them fall to the floor. He tried to rid the water from his coat, shaking his pelt repeatedly but with no such prevail, he just let the sun do its job and hopefully it would quickly dry the damp fur. Resting his head against his forepaws, he stared out at the spring and the landscape that surrounded it. Of course it was a slight blur, nothing as clear as other wolves may have seen, but it was something Vereine had gotten use to and didn’t find it odd at all. His thoughts would never remain on one topic for too long, but every once in a while he would linger upon the ones that concerned his past, pondering over the possibilities of ‘what if sister hadn’t died’ and ‘what if brother never killed himself’ and the occasional ‘what if we weren’t even born…’. With questions like these and many other similar ones, Dupre had decided to finally jump in. Ever since he had first “spoken” to Vereine, he came off as the guardian figure so now it was time to bring back that comforting mother/father feel that Vereine never really understood. Now now, Knoxie. You shouldn’t be thinking such negative thoughts… It won’t do you any good now. The voice whispered, the tone of false caring quite clear in its voice. ”Oh just shut up, Dupre.” Vereine growled, closing his eyes and trying to distract himself of the irritable nuisance. ”You know just as well as I do, with you running rampant through my head, it doesn’t even matter. You’re just going to put those thoughts back into my head either way.” A chuckle rang through his head, making Vereine want to roll his eyes. Hmm, well, that is true… the childish and sing song voice wanted to make the black mass lash out and kill the next raven he saw. Thanks to Dupre, the wolf had grown a strong hatred for birds, particularly ravens. Reading his thoughts, the second soul let out another laugh, making Vereine growl in response. Though, it wasn’t like he could’ve helped it. Clearly they were all just barking mad. word count;; 737 tags;; jackle ! alice ! open !occ;; oh gawd… I don’t even know about this post. Jackle decided to go for an exploration...again. He did enjoy exploring territories, did he not? This is boring. Agreed, but I am sure I will come across something to amuse me. Are you sure of that. Yes. Well I am glad, that makes one of us. That makes both of us, seeing that we are both the same person, you are just another side to me. Oh yes, the better side, the smarter side. I shall fancy not. You do have the strangest way of speaking. So do you because you are me. Well, who are you. I am you and you are me. Are you sure. Please don't start that back up again. He shook his head. It would be the strangest if someone could read his thoughts. To have arguments and conversations with himself as if he were many different people, though, he really was just one side of his personality. the gentleman part. The mad wolf who he speaks to is the cause of his own poison.
Jackle had come to a random place that started to shake his nerves quite a bit. Water...water...everywhere, don't you know I will come 'en play? Jackle shook the voice. No longer did he want to speak to himself. No longer did he want to listen to the voice inside his head. No longer did he want to be himself. Though, all of these 'no longer' s were something he thought of everyday. So these were definitely not unusual. But he was walking into dangerous waters (pun intended). Being near his fear, his fear of water, was starting arose his 'other' personality. The poison at some point may show on the surface of him. To long had he known that he needed to stay away from water. But it is everywhere, and like it or not, it is a necessity that he must endure or else he will not survive.
He slowly walked to the edge of a pool of water. Jackle looked at his reflection. The reflection looked like it was screaming back at him. No...stop it! He pleaded in his mind. His throat suddenly became dry. I just need a little water, enough to keep me alive for this moment. He slowly dunked the front of his muzzle in the water and drank hastily. Slowly purple liquid descended into the water as he drank. He didn't notice for a moment then his eyes widened and he backed up and closed his eyes, shoved his head into his chest, and held his breath. As a yearling, he thought this worked for him, to keep the madness away, and half the time it did work. After a while he opened his eyes back up and looked at the water again. There was no purple liquid. Damn hallucinating poison. What better poison to make a wolf go mad?
Jackle suddenly heard voices. Was that me? Your not that mad...yet. Oh sure I am but I think that the voice was coming from over there. Then stop being so useless here and go over there! Although he hated the poison inside him, sometimes it was great for making decision, no matter how mean or cruel the voice was toward him. Jackle slowly made his way toward the voice with his posture that he had lost for a moment in his madness, his correct posture. It was a raven black male with large feathered wings. For a moment, he thought it was his poison making him imagine things again. But no, this was a wolf who was not from his own mind and quite real. He came into view of the wolf and bowed halfway to the ground. "Hello sir. I am Jackle." He said, with his voice mostly sane sounding. Heh... and let the games begin.

Vereine Talks , Vereine Thinks |
, Dupre Thinks Ears flicked forward and eyes snapped wide. The scent of another being drifted through to his nose and set him on high alert. It had been far too early for him to begin his social norms and Dupre’s irritation would just add to the pure chaos that was sure to ensue if he were to come into contact with another. His tail brushed back and forth across the ground at a slow pace, a strange habit Vereine had grown into when he was curious. Dupre continued to mumble inaudible words that the wolf had learned to set aside, though, the mind numbing sound of the other still annoyed him to no end. He lifted his head from his paws and breathed in the air, trying to recognize the scent. He didn’t know anyone from the pack, so it was probably quite useless, but who knows, he could have bumped into the stranger before. His could smell a variety of things; the trees that billowed in the wind, the damp earth from the spring, the birds that fluttered in the sky and the scent of a different wolf. Male to be exact, of course it was male. There was always a distinctive scent between males and females, he couldn’t quite place what it was, but it was still there. This made Vereine question who it could possibly be. Maybe the Alpha? It was a high chance seeing as the spring resided near the Alpha’s den… He wasn’t in the mood to be picking fights with a superior and his charm never worked that well with males, maybe he should do a quite run through of his manners. It was a long time since he had contact with anyone other than the mad voice running through his head that clearly wasn’t his own, so maybe meeting someone would be a good refresher for the wolf. He continued to swish his tail and examined his surroundings once more. Maybe it wasn’t the alpha, but more likely a loner. Or possibly a stranger from another pack? They could have been hiding in the shadows… just waiting for their moment to attack. Scenarios of violence, blood, and gore ran through his thoughts and Dupre’s laughing rang through once again.
Ah! Knoxie! Looks like you’re in a pleasant mood! the second soul chimed in, his voice just dripping with cheer and sarcasm. Tch. No thanks to you. Vereine stared out past the water, hoping to recognize a figure or any of the sort. He even tried squinting, but still saw nothing but smudges of earthy colors. Suddenly, after each intake of air, the scent started to get stronger. He got up quickly, if the other was to attack, he didn’t want to be vulnerable, lying on the floor. With a shake of his coat and a gust of wind from the flap of his wings he took a stance that was quite casual but he still kept his sense on high alert. Suddenly, dark brown figure walking towards him and with that, Vereine straightened up his posture. He didn’t want to seem all too high and mighty but he wanted to show that he still had class. As the figure got closer, he watched as the other male bowed slightly and clearly showed he wasn’t alpha. An alpha would certainly not bow before anyone of lower status, so the black wolf’s fear of terrible manners and a horrid first impression nearly vanished. Ha, Jackle, huh? Sounds like quite the joke. Dupre snickered, the sound of amusement clear in his voice. Vereine inclined his head, showing a sign of respect, but he didn’t dare bow. It was no time for bowing, this wasn’t some female he hoped to persuade or a superior he hoped to gain favor of, no it was just some mere male. ”Jackle? Ah, well my name is Vereine. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” the wolf replied, his voice calm and collective. He’d been so use to these games of deception, lies, and millions of facades, today should be no different. The thing is, it isn’t a pleasure to meet you. Hell, I don’t know anything other than your name, where’s the pleasure in that? Social norms. Jackle watched as he titled his had slightly. Better than nothing. You are kidding right? No. You really are that blind, never mind, I suppose some part of you can see, that part being me. Smart ass. And loving it. Jackle mentally shook his head. His madness was surely on the rampage today. The water was not helping either, not one bit. At least he was able to keep his eyes away from looking at the water constantly. Jackle... this is your time to shine. Let me out, you can't keep a mad dog chained up all the time can you? He once more mentally growled. Boy, had he not been taught manners and such, he would probably willingly let his madness surface at any given moment. The poison was up to a fight today, but Jackle would do all in his power to prevent it.
"Vereine hmm..." The name came out in a slight devious hiss. He cleared his throat. "I am of the Styrrstdar Cadre pack. I am guessing you to since you are here." He resisted from his madness saying 'since you are here... or else you would have signed you suicide note'. His mind has come up with better things but when it hasn't had it's fun, it gets rusty. Even if he is in your pack, would it not be appreciated to do a little rough housing? Not from me would it be appreciated. No of course not, because you are a gentleman of sorts, are you not? I am, I grew up that way. Oh yes, that's right... you ran away from your family because you are afraid to show the true you, the demon creature you really are. The only demon here is you. Don't forget I am you.
Oh there was nothing more aggravating then constantly talking to yourself in less than one day! It was like talking to someone of the complete opposite of you. There is hardly anything you can agree on and they are so persistent! All Jackle has to do is be more persistent on keeping him inside, at least for a little while longer. It was always a mental war with himself. Jackle really is talking to no one but himself, it would make one wonder if there really is poison in him, or if it really is part of his personality and he is fighting to keep himself from being that wolf that he really is. No one really knows.

Vereine Talks , Vereine Thinks |
, Dupre Thinks Tucking his wings tight to his sides, he gave the other male a slightly judgmental look, examining the other and trying to find those small details that told who they were. The other’s coat had a red hue to it, and to the left there was a strange purple marking. It wasn’t odd to Vereine, he’s seen quite a few colorful wolves wandering around the lands. He gave off the feel of a Lupus but could have possibly have been just a strange myou mix. Who knows anymore, there have been a good share of hybrids running around, it could be hard to tell who was what. He let his head tilt to the side slightly, his eyes still running down the other wolf’s body.
Hmm, doesn’t look like much…
Dupre scrutinized. He mentally shook his head, almost wanting to laugh at the raven’s comment but held it in. Realizing he was being rude, he quickly erased his judging look and replaced it with a warm smile. ”Forgive me, I mean not to seem so rude, but may I ask what kind of blood runs through those veins of yours?” Vereine enjoyed collecting information. Usually he would start off subtlety, just gaining basic and simple tidbits, and later after a good amount of time where he would gain enough trust, he would ask the deeper and compelling questions that really made one tick. Then later using it against them in some way, of course. That’s all Vereine’s ever known, how to lie, cheat, and harm. No one but him truly matter in his world, if his actions would benefit him then of course he would jump straight into the matter, but for his own means, really. Looking out for number one, always was his little motto. It was like a little joke between him and his second soul, but of course he would dare not to say that when there was still work to be done. Though after his games were over, and they’ve all discovered his true intentions, well they would’ve already known by now. It was all fun and games, all lies and deception, nothing more than an average day in the life of a lunatic. His ears twitched as the other wolf spoke again. Styrrstdar Cadre, huh. Well I’m quite positive that they wouldn't be the ones to start attacking their own, so maybe he isn’t going to have a go at attempted murder. he pondered, only receiving a loud scoff in response. Keep your guard up, Knoxie dear, you’re quite off today. He wasn’t keen on having to fight, so he might as well just act like the gentleman he was use those idiocies called manners. ”And I assure you I am of the Styrrstdar Cadre as well, not some lone wanderer or mere trespasser.” By some chance, the black wolf had still managed to keep that warm smile on his face. Jackle stood silently while the male studied him. Am I really that interesting to look at. No, probably not, just being cautious probably. Now look who is being the nice one. You are starting to control myself better is all. And you say I have strange way of wording things. Don't mock me. Once again, he mentally shook his head. If only the world knew the madness in the gentleman's blood. If only he himself knew. Jackle watched as his head tilted then put on a look of some amusement, though, he looked like he was restraining from doing something. Don't even think about asking, you would never be able to regroup yourself then.
"It is alright... sir, I am of full Lupus blood." He said, keeping his tone at a mostly respectful level. Jackle felt that he had no reason to ask of Vereine's blood line even though he could be a myou or some other winged wolf species. He rather find out from the other saying, then him asking. He was not one to ask, he always waited till the other asked him if he wanted to know or said it freely themselves. That was one of the things he had been taught, all of his manners and such. Jackle had also decided not to mention to be a poison Lupus, just so he could have someone guessing. Sometimes that was his only fun in the world.
Jackle...Jackle... I am a mad wolf, I am you and you are me, would it matter if you let me free? Jackle's eyes narrowed ever in the slightest. Jackle...Jackle... See me escaping you. He looked down a little, at his paws, purple liquid dropped onto his paw. He wasn't really drooling poison was he. Jackle tried to blink it away. It wasn't working. Please let it not be real... please don't be real... Jackle looked up at Vereine. Maybe if it was real, he wouldn't notice. Oh it better not be real.
"I am glad you of the pack. You are the first I have met of my same pack." He said with his mouth opening as little as possible, and a small bow of his head. You know what is not real... that stupid smile on his face... you can tell that many wolves smile and it is not real, don't be pleading for me to be fake, look ahead of you.
OCC; I will leave it up to you, if he is really drooling his poison or not. ;-)

Vereine Talks , Vereine Thinks |
, Dupre Thinks A soft chuckle escaped the black wolf’s lips. ”Sir? Oh, there is no need for such formalities! Please, just call me Vereine.”
He replied, his voice sounding not too cheerful but slightly more friendly than a normal stranger’s. Lupus blood? They’ve got elemental powers and what not, you know. the second soul stated, his voice sounding quite smug. I’m not an idiot, Dupre. I know that already. Yes but you do know you act like one…Tch, just go to hell already. Too late. I’m already hell itself. And with that Vereine gave an irritated flick of his tail. He had an urge to ask, but felt it might come off as rude. It was rare for him to dive into the depths of someone’s personal lives but such common bits of knowledge concerning one’s life wouldn’t harm anyone, would it? Vereine gave a quick nod of acknowledgement from the other’s comment and looked him straight in the eye. His black and white eyes practically trying to bore into the other male’s soul, he hoped to read something, anything, from this stranger. Trying not to come off as too stern, he quickly broke eye contact and let his gaze flicker beyond the wolf and stare at what lay behind him. ”Lupus contain elemental powers, if I’m not mistaken. Fancy to share yours?” He continued to stare at nothing but the landscape from behind the wolf, though his voice didn’t sound very distant, just hinted with curiosity. He really didn’t mean to pry… Oh who was he kidding, of course he meant to pry. Sure, it may not have been most polite thing ever, but it wouldn’t hurt anyone to strike up a conversation and get to know each other. When his gaze returned to the male before him, he noticed something had changed. The atmosphere that surrounded the two, perhaps? He wasn’t acting that odd… but something really did seem off. Oh look Vereine! Really messed up this time, didn’t you? It’s far too early for you to be scaring everyone off! Dupre’s voice was drowned in a tone of mockery and it almost made Vereine want to snap and snarl at him. He’d messed up things far too many times due to Dupre’s idiocy and he wasn’t going to do so this time. If there had been anything off about his expression, he tried to erase it as quickly as possible and replace it with a simple and neutral look. He knew if he tried to break out into another smile, he’d surely snap at any moment. His temper control wasn’t at his highest when he had to deal with Dupre and put on an extremely fake smile at the same time. ”Am I really? Well it’s quite the honor, then. He didn’t want to say he was new, oh no, not at all. If this wolf hadn’t made any other contact then he would try and use this to his advantage. Maybe he could make up a string of lies, saying that he was once of the most dedicated members of the pack, always loved by their alpha and constantly helping everyone. Oh good Lord no, that just sounded far too happy and cheerful, even for Vereine’s acting ability. Oh well, guess he would just have to wing it on this one. Or maybe just not say anything? The wolf didn’t seem like he would be of any importance… Maybe he didn’t have to know a thing about the lunatic that was Vereine… He heard Dupre scoff quickly after. Don't blow up... Don't blow up. Jackle swallowed hard. "Poison." He simply replied. Deary deary me, why don't you just tell him all of your past and what your favorite food is for fun. Vereine's stare was only met with Jackle's own green and purple stare. This staring contest was not unusual for Jackle. He was also getting to the point where he was not starring from his eyes anymore. It was something he did when he was starting to loose grip on himself. He would kind of go to 3ed person and watch his madness takeover.
"Yes... honor..." Honor came out in an almost venomous voice. No! Don't come now. It's now or never bub, and I can't wait for forever to come. Jackle was still mostly in control but he was starting to lose. The surrounding water didn't help. Your going to drown Jackle... fear... water... He shook his head mentally but it did not work, his madness still taunted him.

Vereine Talks , Vereine Thinks |
, Dupre Thinks The black wolf’s eyes narrowed only ever so slightly, the other’s behavior suddenly becoming far from what society would refer to as normal. Dupre almost forced out a snarl from Vereine’s lips when the word ‘poison’ hit his ears but Vereine had made sure to release nothing more than a subtle growl. He didn’t want to have to endure a fight with a poison lupus, it was just too risky with the second soul being on edge today. He flicked his tail again, this time from impatience. Clearly this wolf was just as mad as him, maybe worse. Oh you know that’s not possible. I doubt the poor bastard has me running through his head, what do you think? The wolf snickered, not caring if the other noticed or not. He was probably busy with something else.
His ears twitched and his head snapped to turn behind him, checking if anyone else lurked in the shadows. More likely Dupre’s overactive imagination feeding things to his thoughts, but checked either way then quickly turned his attention back to the other male. If a fight was to break out, he didn’t want his false reputation to shatter before it really even started. ”Pardon, but are you feeling alright?”
Vereine didn’t exactly enjoy silence or awkward tension, so he might as well be all polite and such. No shit, does he look alright? the second soul laughed, he was probably having a good kick out of this. Dupre really did enjoy a good ol’ show of drama and action, he was probably waiting for the other to fully snap and force Vereine to fight. You don’t own me and you can’t force me to do anything. I’ve got a thing called ‘freewill’, remember? He wanted to roll his eyes, but decided not to. Not when you’re with me, chap. He didn’t really bother putting on a expression to show he cared, oh no, he couldn’t really care less about the other. This really wasn’t worth his time and surely not worth his effort. Though, he tried not to too bored, that would seem just flat out rude. He just stood there, his look remaining neutral as he continued to stare down the other wolf. Jackle's chest heaved largely. Vereine's growl only made the madness inside Jackle's head laugh loudly, sounding like Jackle was making a small cracked cough. Inside, he was trying to keep himself together, making him look all the more tense. I have to leave, someone might get killed. By the looks of it, who ever would get killed if you were to fight, it might be me. This is madness. You can't blame all of this on me. Why not, your my mistake that continues to haunt my very existence. Oh, please don't elaborate any further, it was your fault, and try not to look so upset, your going to make a mess of my lovely fur. Jackle shook his head.
"Er... I am sorry. I am actually not doing very well. Please excuse me." As he spoke, he slowly walked backwards and eventually tripped into a deep pool of water. Only once his head was underwater did he scream and millions of bubbles flew out like a jet. Then there was a moment of silence. Jackle's heavy fur kept him from floating up. He then snapped and a wide and out of place cheshire smile spread across his face. It quickly was removed and his adrenalin busted, allowing him to paddle up quickly.
His head reached the surface and he only sighed contently. He climbed out and shook himself off. He pranced toward the winged other and smiled. "Oh do excuse that small chaos but it might have looked rather fun, wouldn't you say?" As he spoke, his voice began to crack at a drastic rate. Oh Jackle boy, if you hadn't tried to run from yourself, the mirrored water wouldn't have let me take your place.

Vereine Talks , Vereine Thinks |
, Dupre Thinks Knoxie, something is terribly wrong with him. the raven stated, snickering as he simply watched as events unfolded. Well shit, does he look like nothing’s wrong with him?
Vereine spat, seeing as it was his turn to be blunt. Honestly, he wasn’t entirely sure what to do, this whole ‘insane looking wolf’ thing was quite new to him, especially since he was usually the one being insane. See, aren’t you glad that at least I have a bit of control? Unlike… whatever that is… Tch, there’s nothing about you I’m glad of. he replied, continuing to watch the wolf. His usual warm and kind look had been replaced by something that was a mix between disgust and amusement. Though the wolf was quite odd, he did entertain Vereine in a way. He’s strange… I like him. the black wolf stated, his head tilting to the side as he watched the wolf fall into the water. ”Hmm… I really should help him, shouldn’t I? Ah, oh well. he shrugged, speaking to no one in particular. His eyes flickered from the surrounding landscape and the bubbling chaos that ensued in the spring. A normal wolf would have already thought of the other as a threat and run off or something, but Vereine clearly wasn’t what one would call ‘normal’ but then again, who was? What was this thing called ‘normality’? He had never heard of such a thing, and was sure he wouldn’t any time soon. The male rested on his haunches, continuing to watch as the other pulled himself from the water. Raising a brow, he let the look of amusement and satisfaction spread across his face. Now now, Knoxie, don’t let your guard down too much. He ignored the second soul and let his gaze fall over the other male. ”Chaos, excused… He replied, inclining his head. When he lifted his head up, letting his eyes meet with the other’s a smug grin had spread across his lips. Oh yes, this one was quite interesting indeed. word count ;; 336tags ;; jackle ! alice !ooc ;; and of course, Vereine really doesn’t give a damn. xD musical inspiration ;; Think Twice – Eve 6 [/blockquote]

Jackle's eyes looked around wildly, hoping to spot something fun to do. "Hm... what can a wolf do around here that's fun? Probably don't want to have too much fun and get into too much trouble making for my poor little self." He said, pouting childishly then having his sly smile returning.
Don't get into trouble at all. Oh you know me Jacky boy, I don't need to go out looking for trouble, it finds it's way to me. I shouldn't have tripped into the water. Why do you always speak the obvious. Jackle's mad self didn't need to shake his sane self's voice away. He grows silent when he becomes weak. And when he becomes weak, all the more adrenalin he feels. In a weird way, it is like starving yourself to not be dehydrated.
OCC; sorry for my posts getting shorter and shorter!
