Lost~
She stood astride a great russet mound of earth, gripping the dry, cracked surface with equally dry, cracked pads. Her body was inclined along the tilt of the slope, angled in such a way she appeared to be moving neither up nor down.
Far ahead of her a dark, roiling mass of black rumbled in the distance, tendrils of moisture reaching from deep within to claw the sky and pull it closer.
A storm is coming....
The voice was not truly a voice - It could not be heard or traced to any particular creature. In fact, the only sign of its existence was to be found in the minute twitch of a shadowed ear belonging to, not the speaker, but the listener.
"Yes, we should be wary of it."
This voice was undeniably real. It escaped a Female throat, lingering for only a brief moment before a gust of chilled, Summer-Storm wind carried it away. A tuft of grass danced down below.
Whuffling lightly, the Fae lifted her nose to the breeze. The smell of Summer was immediately detectible, hot and spicy and consisting of dust and heated earth. Below this, though; Hiding beneath the suffocating Summer aroma; Her keen, canine nose caught and identified the subtle, heavy, dank, dragging scent of a storm-to-come.
The midnight fur along her neck and spine prickled with unease. It was clear this Female did not believe the mass of swollen, black cloud creeping from the Horizon brought good fortune.
We must not dwell on the weather, Lost. No matter how unnatural. Food is of more importance.
"You're right, but..."
The Fae dropped her nose, casting the sky a last, suspicious glance before scrambling down off the patch of slightly arisen soil.
In the distance, a flash of jagged light signaled the start of a thunder storm. Again lightning flared, a skeletal finger slamming down to earth, close enough the Wolfess felt her pelt prickle with electricity.
She shuddered beneath her thickset fur. "We can't let that catch us."
You've been irrationally frightened of Lightening since you were a pup - Now get a move on. I'm starving.
"You're starving?" Lost questioned under her breath, slipping into a cautious trot. "You don't even have a body."
Your body is my body. The voice stated stubbornly, driving the Fae into silence. And you're starving, therefor I'm starving.
["Lost speaking." Lost thinking.Silence, aka Si (Lost's second Soul) speaking. I hope this isn't too short...? Lost has wandered into Styrrsdar Cadre Territory without noticing, and is searching for a meal right beside the Fighting Arena. [/blockquote]

She wasn't old; at only six years old she had quite a while to go before she could consider herself elderly. Even still though, years of battles made themselves known when storms came. She groaned as she pulled herself from her sleep, searching the den for Torn. Nothing. She snarled a bit in disapproval, but put it out of her mind for the moment. Caedmon, the red panda soul snickered slightly. He had been making himself far more well-known lately, finally receding from the crevices of her mind. Something about her needing him more now.
She stretched, walking towards the exit of the den. Once she was out in the open, it was clear a storm was approacing. A huge mass of dark clouds and ominous threats loomed in the distance. Her lip culed a bit as she looked at it. She'd have to make sure all the members were inside, and she'd probably have to remain in their cave. 'Make sure you get Gulliver too daaahling,' Caedmon purred. As if she would forget her own son. Rhiannon rolled her eyes, ignoring his taunting voice and made her way up to the top. It was her job as alpha to make sure her members were safe. She'd be pretty alarmed if they were up at the top of the canyon though with this weather looming.
Her muscls and joints ached as she moved, and she growled through the pain, forcing herself to keep moving. It would only get worse and stiffen her body up if she stopped. It took longer than usual, getting to the top, but soon she was there, clearing the rocks and finding herself almost face to face with a black wolf. Blinking, she composed herself before instantly rising her hackles, lip curling in a half snarl. The wolf, a female now apparently, was definitely not from her pack. And yet, she wasn't from any pack. She smelled of nothing but the natural world and that let Rhia's guard down a bit. At least she wasn't from another pack.
She looked the female up once and with narrowed hazel eyes, spoke. "Who are you stranger and why are you trespassing on cadre lands?" she said, her voice strong and powerful despite her protesting muscles.

Lost~
"Trespassing on Cadda... Cadaa... Trespassing?" Startled and unprepared, feeling something like consternation, Lost rocked back onto her well-muscled haunches, stirring up a cloud of dust that both clogged and dried her throat. The fur on her neck threatened to rise - She forced it to lie flat, reminding herself that the last thing she needed was a fight.
The large, scarred, russet-and-white Fae who loomed above was producing a steady growl deep in her throat. The noise promised nothing but distrust and confusion, no matter how smothered by the sound of the oncoming storm.
"Er... I apologize for..." Her voice trembled so badly she could not continue, and Lost had to clear her throat before she made another attempt. "I apologize for wandering into your land. I did not know that it belonged to a Wolf - " A quick, subtle inhalation provided the scent of not just one wolf, but a group. " - Pack. I...."
Seek a family. Silence murmured. It was as though he believed the Fae might hear him - His voice was as low and cautious as Lost had ever heard it, no more than a soft whisper inside of her mind. She flicked an ear.
"I seek a family of which to call my own." The Pitch-Pelted creature shifted, fear blossoming like a rose inside of her chest, and lowered herself submissively to the ground. She was not a threat.

Had Rhia not been in pain and in a better mood the situation would have been comical. Instead it rubbed her the wrong way and her lip curled slightly. It was only Caedmon who reminded her to hold her temper. It wasn't really the female's fault that she had trespassed; a lot of wolves did it and the canyon top wasn't heavily marked with their scent. His words made her expression relax and she stopped growling, watching the female with quizzical eyes. An explanation would be interesting, definitely. The wolf before her was taller than her, but much, much leaner. Her head was raised authoritatively either way, to show her dominance.
The female spoke and Rhiannon's eared flicked back and forth. She didn't really know what to say, it seemed. She seemed truly sorry though and young. This little female reminded her so much of her little Kai. The memory made her sad, but she moved past it. Kai had left along with Forte and there was no going back. But it definitely gave Rhiannon a desire to bring this little lost pup into her home and protect her.
The wolf's next words made Rhiannon nod slowly and she relaxed more. "Well, you seem to be in luck, little wolf," she said, disregarding the fact that the she-wolf before her was bigger than herself. She smiled a little bit, watching her lower herself to the ground. "My name is Rhiannon and I am the alpha of these lands. We are a strong pack, with loyal members. If you are willing to learn how to become strong, both physically and mentally, then you are welcome in our lands," she spoke slowly, giving the wolf a one up. She looked harmless enough, but with training? Her long lanky body looked quick and made Rhia curious as to what she could accomplish in and out of battle. She wouldn't make the young wolf fight for acceptance though, which was probably better for the both of them.

Lost~
Rhiannon, the Alph Fae, spoke of strength and loyalty - Of both mental and physical power - And that blossoming fear within Lost's breast began to diminish and recede, pulling into itself, leaving behind a sense of utter relief and determination. "I am willing to learn."
Thunder clapped in the distance. The noise was so sudden, so jarring, the midnight she-wolf bristled in alarm, casting the horizon a distrustful glance.
Congratulations, we have a pack. Silence let his voice hint at irritation - He believed Lost was showing disrespect to her new Alpha, momentarily ignoring the Fae to glare at a mass of cloud - And his comment was meant to remind her that she could not simply dismiss Rhiannon as she pleased. Neither he, nor Lost, were alone anymore. They had a pack. They had a family... And that meant they had rules to follow. Strict guidelines. Now stop staring at that cursed storm cloud as though it might stare back!
Lost blinked, dipped her head in apology - And abruptly glanced away from her Alpha once again. Far to her left, a Jackalope made himself present, nibbling on a blade of dry, grey-green grass. Her stomach rumbled.
She let herself gather his sound - She let herself gather the steady, pulsating rhythm of his heart beating in his breast, and the soft brush of his pads moving delicately over-top dusted earth, and the subtle flick of one long, furred ear as he, too, pinpointed the sound of some far away creature - And then she was gone.
Lost gave into the mingled predatorial instincts of both her Wolf-Soul, and her Cheetah-Soul. Her lean, compact body bunched and stretched, sinewy muscle rippling beneath a thickset raven pelt as powerful legs pumped and large, balanced paws churned.
The Jackalope saw her coming. He burst from the Canyon Grasses, startlingly fast for such a small, bulky looking creature, but was no match for Lost's land-eating sprint. She grabbed hold of his meaty flank with a claw, tossing him high into the air. This tactic was undeniably feline. No wolf played with her food - then again, Lost was not totally wolf.
Landing with a dull thump, the hare-like creature sent up a billowing cloud of dust. He lay, stunned, for less than a second. Soon both Jackalope and Myou participated in a weaving, twisting dance - That of predator and prey. Wolfess ran with long, striding grace, glossy pelt rippling. Antlered Hare bound frantically, half hop, half sprint, eyes wild with terror.
Chest heaving, Lost leaned into her gallop. She was beginning to wear... It was time to get serious - Time to end this game once and for all.
The entire atmosphere of the sleek, black Myou changed in an instant. No longer did she veer left and right, urging her pray forward, joking with him. Frightening him. No longer did she feel youthful and boisterous.
Now she was a hunter.
Pouring all she had into this last home stretch, Lost drew up beside her meal. He did not turn the other way - She was far enough from him the instinct to distance himself did not kick in.
It happened in the blink of an eye.
The she-wolf veered sharply to the right, slamming full-speed into an animal that did not have time to realize what was happening. Her mouth snapped shut on a tender throat. Warm, salty, scarlet liquid sprayed, flecking her fur. Flecking the ground. Seeping into parched, greedy dirt.
Lost lifted her muzzle to the sky and released a long, low howl. The noise was neither canine, nor feline. It was an unnatural, eerie mix between the two, and would surely serve to coax up the fur on any unfortunate animal listening.
She did not understand that she had left her Alpha standing until her throat closed off, and her howl was lost to a fierce gust of wind.
[Aha~ Laziness is fine :D I can be a very lazy person as well - Especially now, with School about to end.]

So long as you are willing, then we are more than happy to let you join us," she said, interrupted by the clash of thunder. Had the noise not been so familiar to Rhiannon she would have jumped at the sound. Instead it merely made her ears prick upwards and she turned her head slowly to see the lightning. It was close; they'd need to get inside fast.
She was about to speak when the female was gone in a flash. Rhiannon blinked hard, trying to find the black myou. She was faster than her eyes could register at the beginning, but she soon saw the black form darting towards what seemed to be a jackalope. With any other wolf she would have been pissed, but Lost reminded her so of Kai, that she let the wolf leap, finding herself seated on her haunches and watching the quick play by play before her. She caught the thing, tossing it up. It landed with a thud on the ground, and Rhiannon continued to stare, her hazel eyes darting as their movements zig zagged around the top. Soon she was almost out of sight, and then only the dust cloud was visible.
"That was weird," she muttered to herself, hearing Caedmon's chuckling in the back of her head. She shrugged a bit though and waited. Obviously the female was hungry, and by god, she was fast. Rhiannon had never seen a wolf so fast, and the thought intruiged and fascinated her. On a battle field her speed would be incredibly useful. In anything it could be incredibly useful. She purred loudly, hearing the claps of thunder grow closer, the lightning spark around her. She'd wait until the female was back before retreating to the dens. So as she waited she slid onto her belly, making her body as flat at she could.
Suddenly an eerie howl called out across the lands. The voice belonged to the female, Lost, but it hardly sounded like a wolf. It sent shivers down her spine and she curled a lip in distaste. Well, not everyone could sound lovely. The howl was a fair distance away, and Rhiannon lay waiting for her return, feeling the splash of rain droplets on her fur.

Lost~
The first raindrop did not hit Lost.
The second one, of course, did. And it startled her into an abrupt awareness, so that the Fae blinked and shook her head to rid herself of the access water. The action was in vain - Nothing would stop the onslaught of rain. Nothing would keep cool, clear water from beading on her pelt. That, of course, was fine with Lost. The cold each tiny droplet provided would work to cool her considerably.
Are you going to eat, or having a staring contest with the dirt? "Do you think I upset her...?" Probably. It's too late to fix that, now, though. Take advantage of your first proper meal - The smell of that Jackalope is absolutely killing me! "Alright. Alright." Lost dipped her head, burying her muzzle in moist fur. The beefy Jackalope did not take her long to devour. He did not fill her stomach, as she'd have liked, but the creature did serve to greatly lessen the pain in her empty belly. When she able to breath without choking on another mouthful of flesh, the Fae lifted her head. She could not see her Alpha... There was no sign of the russet female. Of course, Lost had a feeling she may have traveled more distance than accounted for. Feeling neither worried nor upset, she inhaled, and quite easily detected the pack-scent of Rhianna beneath the musty smell of blood. "I should take her the rest of the Jackalope..." A quick glance at the dead animal proved that, in reality, there wasn't much to take, but she ignored Silence's snide comment and snatched up what meat was left. You confound me. She's not going to care for a mangled bit of flesh like that - Just eat it and be done. "No, thank you." Lost picked up a steady lope. Soon Rhianna was clearly visible in the distance - A dark spot on the horizon. She sped up a bit, nearing the female as quickly as her cautious mind would allow. There was still the chance she had greatly offended her Alpha, and... Lost didn't want to act cocky and end up fighting. "I'm really, truly sorry I took off like that," She dropped the bit of meat at Rhianna's paws, dipping her head politely. "I'm... I haven't eaten in a while..." Truth was, she hadn't eaten in close to a week. Sure, she'd wolfed down the occasional left over carcass, and nibbled on grass like a herbivore, but that alone wasn't enough to sustain a carnivorous, constantly moving body. "I promise I'll control myself better in the future."

The hot summer air was cooled off by the rain and she appreciated it. It was only the lightning that worried her. She didn't want her or Lost to get hit by it. But soon enough she appeared on the horizon, her black shape loping through the terrain, back to her. She carried what looked like a half torn apart jackalope and she stared at it. She had eaten earlier that morning but she was still rather hungry.
The female came to a stop and dropped the meat by her paws. Rhiannon chewed on what was left, not minding the "left overs". Lost spoke and Rhiannon shrugged a little bit. Anyone else, she would have not been quite so lenient. She lifted her head, tongue licking her muzzle as she stared at her for a long hard moment, before speaking. "You have my forgiveness, Lost. I know how hard it can be to go without food for days. We need to get inside though, the storm is coming," she said, grasping the carcass and holding it firmly in her mouth.
"Follow me down the stairs, one paw at a time. It'll be slippery so be careful. Try to step on the places I step, or else you may fall," she said through the mouthful of meat she had. She had no desire to try and catch another wolf on the stairs. She would if necessary but the fall with Dagyr down the side of the canyon had taught her enough about how horrible and terrifying it could be. She padded towards the ledge, looking down at the slick rock. Her lip twitched in disapproval and she flexed her toes, grabbing onto the rock as best she could with her claws, beginning to hop down.

Lost~
You have my forgiveness, Lost.
The midnight Fae dipped her head once again, in a weak attempt to hide her overwhelming relief. "Thank you, Alpha. I will do my best to make sure you do not regret the decision."
As will I. Silence added, though he knew his voice would be heard by Lost, and Lost only.
Fear erupted in her belly as she watched her Alpha begin the decent down one side of the Canyon. Lost had great footing, and fantastic traction... But she had this thing with narrow ledges. They made her feel trapped and off-balance.
Stepping delicately forward, she placed a paw where Rhiannon had, a moment ago, set her own. Paw after paw. It became a rhythm - The stepping. Rhiannon would move a paw, and Lost would set hers there. After a while she began to forget her position - She was no longer on a steep ledge, with sheer rock to one side, and open air on the other.
[Short post is short xD I was wondering, who is Kai? You mentioned her a couple of times, and I read about her in Rhiannon's Bio... But you make it sound as though she died, or left. I'm just curious ^^]

It was nice to know that even though they had only known each other for a little while, she had her respect. She nodded in reply - she hadn't once regretted accepting a member, only regretting that they had left. Like Kai, and Forte, and Ti'ka... but Ti'ka had returned and Rhia wished that along with him Kai and Forte would return too.
Moving down the canyon face was routine for Rhia, and so she made sure after every step Lost was behind her. She could easily bound down, hardly watching her feet, but she had to make sure that despite her own knowledge, new members could ensure a safe walk down. Making her home in the canyon had seemed a foolish idea initially, but the steep descent and the dangerous rapids below ensured safety. There was little chance that she would be attacked on her home turf. Even if it came to that, they would be hard pressed to get down towards the den.
It took a few moments but soon Rhia noticed the young female behind her slowly gaining confidence. She smiled but said nothing, continuing to work her way down the steps until they met the members' dens.

OOC ;; It's okay, I have so many posts to reply to it works. xD Kai was Rhia's like... apprentice. She was a two year old lupus and really eager and hyper and cute. She was beta female until her roleplayer disappeared and she was deleted. She's the godmother of Rhia's kids.
