Rhia needed to speak to Forte, but this could happen outside of the meeting. She had only run into a single pack member and she wanted to know where thee others were. The rusty female snarled a bit, as she walked along the river's edge. The water was slow near the sides, but the current was fast in the middle. She knew that all too well from watching her daughter be swept away in its clutches. The thought brought a pang of guilt and remorse to her gut, and she snarled again.
It took her a few minutes to regain her calm composure, but finally, with a few deep breaths, she was level-headed once more. The inner conflict she had been facing for the past almost month was subsiding slowly - there was nothing she could do about it now. She hissed, sighing deeply. She pivoted, turned, and began bounding up the steps of the staircase. She knew the path by heart, where to step, what rocks were loose... it was rhythmic and routine to her, and almost soothing.
Rhiannon finally bounded onto the rocks, breathing in deeply. The Castàil Rocks were unused for the most part. There wasn't many times that they needed to hold meetings. Ambling towards the alphas rock, she sprung onto it, reclining onto her haunches. The canyon was silent for the most part, though the rapids and crashing water below her boomed. She had learned to tune out the noise for the most part.
"Members of Styrrstdar Cadre!" she called, her jaws agape, pointed towards the sky. "I summon you to the rocks for a pack meeting. If you intend to remain in this pack, come. If you fail to attend we will chase you from our lands."

Stepping into the large canyn, Swifty took in the breath taking sights, although the rushing water pounded in her ears, irritating her a bit. This was the first time she had stepped into the canyon, for it was also her first pack meeting, and she couldn't help but shake with excitement. And then there was Rhiannon, sitting upon the rocks. How did she know this wolf? Because she had only heard of her, never actually meeting the Alphess of her pack. She had only met two members of the pack so far, and they were Gypsy and Lyta, two females who really annoyed Swifty. But she could learn to live with it.
Walking farther into the canyon, she realized she was the first one there, making her a bit nervous and edgy as she could feel a blush forming under her pelt. But she ignored it. The Sennyo finally sat down below the rock, craning her neck and head upwards to look at the Alphess, wondering if she had noticed she had arrived. Probably. She was in plain view. Easy enough, right? Looking back down, or straight, she saw the rock, and noticed how big it was compared to her. Huge. Being a runt, Swifty felt a bit intimidated by everything being much bigger than her, including other wolves, so she shrunk down a bit, making her look small and submissive.
Now her mind drifted to other thoughts. How would she tell Rhiannon and Fortissimo about her being...Pregnant? It wasn't exactly her fault though. She had been raped by a Yaga of another pack, dooming her to give birth to his puppies, and being alone at the same time. It made her shudder, thinking about it. What if the Alphess and Alpha didn't forgive her, even if it was an accident? She didn't want to get in trouble and be demoted or worse...Kicked out. That'd be horrible. Especially with pups. Letting a sigh escape her maw, she brought her wandering mind back to reality, and braced herself for the worse, whenever she told Rhiannon and Fortissimo. But she would at this pack meeting, and wouldn't chicken out. She promised herself to.

Cold, blue eyes slid open as black ears flickered at the reverberations. It's about time she came back... The willowy sennyo unfolded herself from her napping crevice. Her silky black fur fell into place as she moved and stretched. Seems a meeting was being called. Good.
Gypsy moved steadily towards the stairs and elegantly ascended the steps, her main purpose wanting to get the meeting over and done with so she could go back to solitude. Pack life had benefits, if you ignored all the members. She inhaled the air, estimating who would be at the top when she crested. Rhia of course....there was an odd feeling inside Gypsy. Had she been concerned about the alpha being gone so long?
To her distaste she saw Swifty first as she came to the top. The other sennyo that looked so much like Gypsy. Her eyes narrowed, however it did not last long. She tolerated Swift more than some of the other members she had allowed into the pack. The younger seemed to be hesitating though. Was she scared of Rhia? She raised a brow, then spoke as she came up behind her.
"That's Rhiannon, she's the alphess. Though I'm sure you gathered that much by now." Her light weight tail flickered casually. Her eyes seemed to bore into Swifty. Was something else wrong? She figured if it was important it would come up later. She kept walking past the sennyo, heading towards Rhia. Her cold eyes fell onto the alphess, "Where have you been? There was almost concern in her voice, which would be the most emotion the alpha would get out of her in public. | |

Warm air danced beneath fine feathers, shifting and jostling them about in an awkward glide. Whatever the creature was, it appeared rather unsteady, as if it could fall out of the sky at any moment. But every time it banked right or tilted left, it eventually evened out and remained peacefully up above, staring down at pack lands in much contemplation. The circling nature of the vulture dictated most of his movements, extraordinary vision fixed on the lands below.
Rattinger was beginning to have second thoughts about all this. Now that he was here, was joining a pack really the right thing for him? Sure, the territory suited his needs just fine, appeasing the turkey vulture in its canine shell. But, what would the others think of him? He wasn't exactly a sightly creature, head bald as the day he was born with the wings and tail of a bird. And then there was the problem of his personality. It wasn't a question of if he was good enough to join the ranks. The question was, would they be good enough to meet his standards? His superiority complex did nothing to help his socialization skills.
But alas, the Myou had a scavenger's nature, not a wolf's. If he didn't join a pack, he'd have no easy source of steady food. Sure, there was his tried and true method of stealing from others or devouring any corpse he stumbled upon, but most of that was based on luck coupled with good tracking skills. Here he would have hunters to do the work for him, a steady meal always guaranteed. And of course anything that tumbled from the cliffs was fair game as well. Why pass up a free meal? The male really didn't care what he ate, so long as he found it to be edible.
Ratt banked hard, riding the thermals down with the occasional flap of broad wings. Once close enough to the ground, he flapped more rapidly, ending in a landing that had some grace desired. His steps were somewhat awkward as he took several paces forward, head bobbing up and down with the loping gate. He knew the others weren't too far off, having seen their forms with his own two eyes. The cry of the alphess still rang in his ears, and after he'd watched several of the members walk up from the outskirts, he'd decided to make his own entrance. The question was, how would they handle the unexpected drop in of a stranger?
A grunt reverberated in his larynx, about the loudest sound he could make. Unlike most wolves, he had no ability to howl, to signal his appearance. He could only hope that the fools that plagued this land would be smart enough to keep their distance. While most did just that out of disgust for his looks, there were a few brave idiots out there. Wings tucked loosely along his sides, a sneer twisted up his maw as he came into full view of the three females, hopping his way onto a low, flatted rock to use as a makeshift perch. "Tell me why you fools should be worth my precious time." Bald head tilted slightly as he locked beady brown eyes onto each of them in turn. It was the closest to polite that they'd get out of him; hopefully it was enough to show that he was indeed interested in their odd little band. If they gave him a chance, hopefully they would see that his usefulness outweighed the rest of his quirks.

Lyta panicked as she heard the howl from nearly the other side of the territory. She was desperate to retain her place and she was guessing it was probably pretty tenuous as it was, what with her complete idiocy in deciding to antagonise the griffins. She immediately gave up on the deer (she would have caught it anyway, she decided) and whipped round, bounding towards the sound. Luckily, she managed to find herself a shortcut and bound into the clearing just in time, flopping to the floor and panting. Growling at herself inside, she remembered her dignity and stood up proud and straight, reluctantly bowing her head to the alpha female up on the rock. It hurt her to submit herself and always would, but she'd guessed she'd better get used to it, since she'd never been the type of wolf able to bear to be a loner and there was no pack she knew that'd let her stroll in and do as she liked. Even if what she liked was helping her pack. At least here in the Cadre she could use her fighting skills to prove herself and rise in the ranks. Or that was the plan, anyhow. She sat down and wrapped her tail around her shoulders in her typical catlike position. Casting a few nervous glances at members she'd never seen before, she wished herself invisible for a second, then rethought that. No! I'm no worse than them! I'll stand up proud and look them in the eye! She looked each wolf in the eye then, summing them up in case she'd ever have to challenge them for a rank. She already knew Miss Grumpy, who she thought was an Epsilon and she knew was a Sennyo. If she ever decided she wanted Epsilon- unlikely- she shouldn't be a problem in a fight. The others looked like Subordinates, all with their tails at similar levels, but she could never be sure. Suddenly remembering her own tail, she flicked it down to the same height as theirs and hoped nobody had noticed her blunder. Sigh. She was still getting used to this. But she was learn. She was determined she would learn. One day, nobody would tell her what to do. One day.

Swifty had been spoken too, and she probably wouldn't have heard if it wasn't the voice of Gypsy. She looked at the similar-looking Sennyo, and nodded. "I kind of figured. But thanks." She would have spoken more, but the femme had gone and walked to the rock, looking up to speak to Rhiannon. She had almost demanded an answer, and this made Swifty wonder. Why had she spoken like that to Rhiannon? She flicked her right ear, detecting the concern in the Sennyo's voice. Obviously, she cared about the Alphess, then again, she was sure everyone did.
Now, her mind was brought back to her own problems. She was pregnant, although it was barely visible, and was still debating whether or not to tell the leaders of the Cadre about her...Issue. If she did, would they yell, ban, chase her off...? Or maybe they'd be forgiving and accept the fact that they'd have even more pups to care for. Well, technically, she'd be doing the caring, of course, but still.

It didn't take long for one of the females entered the terrain. Rhiannon had to figure out whether or not she had met the female. Her scent was strange and mingled, and Rhiannon put that off as being a newcomer. She shrugged, watching the sennyo find a seat. She said nothing, merely looking straight at the wolf and nodding her head briskly. The next to come was Gypsy, the epsilon female in the pack. Gypsy had been a member of the pack that Rhiannon could not imagine not having; helpful, loyal, and so many other things. Besides being a little aloof, Rhia liked the sennyo, and respected her greatly.
She nodded to her, and watched as she moved towards the other sennyo. The resemblance was striking and amusing, and Rhiannon quirked a brow, watching their interaction. The smaller sennyo did seem to be new, and Gypsy made that clear with her words. She waited and watched as Gypsy approached her, and her ears flickered forwards as she spoke.
"Here, there, and everywhere," she replied with a half sigh, clearing her throat. "Isealdyr was swept down the water of the canyon. I left hoping to find her. Unfortunately it was in vain," she mustered out the last words, taking a shaking breath afterwards. The idea of her daughter being dead made her heart break, but it was not an emotion she wanted the rest of the pack to notice.
Her morose thoughts were interrupted by a strange noise, and she turned her head towards its direction, her teeth baring slightly. It was not a familiar sound, and as such, deserved wariness. A wolf dropped out of the sky; he appeared to be a keiyou at first, but his bald head spoke otherwise. Another myou? How many was the pack going to get? She said nothing, watching him land. She turned her attention to Gypsy; was this another newcomer she had yet to meet?
His words though made her eyes glimmer with anger, and she rose from her seat, tail raised high in the air and teeth bared. "If you consider us fools, why would you even desire to join our pack?" she hissed, curling her shoulders and leaping down onto the ground and approaching the wolf. "I am Rhiannon, alphess of this pack, and I warn you wolf, I am no fool," she stopped a few feet in front of him, her eyes narrowed slightly. "I think the thing would be for you to tell US why we should waste our time with you," she snapped her jaws shut, starring at him, and waiting for a response. She hardly noticed Lyta come up and sit down, too preoccupied with this strange male.

BRANWEN.
Branwen was being faced with a dilemma, and she really wasn't that elated to have to solve it. But here she was anyway, her dilemma a squirming ball of brown fluff and growing horns in front of her. On her peaceful walk from her den to the meeting, her leaders pup Gulliver had rolled out from his hiding place in the rock on the side of the path to scare her. He really hadn't succeed at all. Branwen sighed, looking to the pup the the Canyon around her. Where was a babysitter when she needed one? Usually pups weren't allowed into pack meetings, lack of input and a distraction and such. But, what was she to do? Leave the pup on the path where he could tumble off the edge? Or bring him to a meeting where he would be a nusiance? Bran sighed again, than decided on bringing him to the meeting. Assumeing that he couldn't read, she gestured for him to follow her, and continued walking.
The pup had followed obediently behind her, but he had still made her late. Bran glanced at the assorted members that where already there, three pack members that she had seen around, her leader, and a peculiar looking winged wolf that seemed to be causing a ruckus. In this light, it was too bright, she wouldn't be able to bend light to announce to the leader of her and the pups appearance. Nor be able to put her input in on certain subjects. Sometimes, she just felt horribly useless being mute. So she allowed herself to sit back and be content with watching. The pup, seeing that his mother was busy, also sat back and mocked Bran's position, much to her amusement.

She felt her hackles raise almost without thinking, and fought to look nonchalant, knowing her alpha probably wouldn't appreciate some Subordinate deciding to jump in when she could handle it perfectly well by herself. Suddenly she sat up straight. It was Spring, wasn't it? And this was a pack meeting! She found her mind racing and smiled. Perhaps the Spring Tournament was going to happen.... she grinned despite herself. No. I mustn't assume that, Lyta thought, refusing to let herself get her hopes up. She had had a strange half-formed plan in her head for a while, and had been looking forward to the tournament, but calmed down. It probably wasn't. She decided to stop thinking about it; que sera sera. Lyta resumed glaring at the wolf. She thought he smelled of rotting meat. Vulture. Without meaning to, she felt a soft growl rise slowly in her throat.

Ardent was high up in the sky, just watching the gathering of the wolves. Her black body circled, using the drafts to go up and down, listening to the voices below her. She loved her hearing and glad she could understand the wolves. It was definenatly somthing she was proud of learning. THis particular pack was slowly coming together and she had talked to the alphess for a bit. She wondered what they were all doing cause now she was out of ear shot. So what does a dragon do when out of ear shot? Why go lower of course. But she was getting tired of small circles, SO she went down and decided to land near them. Far enough away that the dirt she brought up wouldnt hurt anyone, especially the pup that she could see. Once her body was settled she folded her wings, and nodded her head to the alphess before going forward. She looked down at the fragile creatures and tilted her head slightly as her eyes whirled a amber color. She was very curious right now.

ooc: so sorry for the wait x.x All eyes were on him now. Good. It made him feel pride to have made such an entrance. Though eh could have done without that little Lyxxi's defiance. Didn't she know it was bad form to look another wolf directly in the eyes? When she caught his gaze, he put on the nastiest sneer that he could muster. The wrinkled, bald skin of his head contorted with the nasty look, hungry eyes reflecting an unspoken desire to devour her rotting flesh. Maybe that would teach her to mind her own business. After all, he'd been here first and already had the alpha's attention. Anyone else was insignificant, another meal he was waiting on to drop dead.
Turning back to his fellow Myou, his expression softened towards her anger. The cold sneer morphed into a superior smirk, a smile that said she was missing the obvious. His voice was raspy as he spoke insulting words of praise. "Silly girl, do you not see? Of all the packs in this forsaken land, it was to yours I chose to bestow my presence. Yours is the least idiotic in foundation and ethics. I settle for nothing but the best. But first, I must make sure I drew reasonable conclusions from my observations. I do so hate to be disappointed."
His wings spread out for a moment to stretch, tip feathers spreading like fingers as they reached their full span. Then they settled back down, folding loosely against his sides. The hole time he had never removed his gaze from the alphess, deeming her the only one worthy of being looked at. Even as others approached or when a dragon landed near by, he didn't so much as bat an eye. Dragons didn't scare him. If it was destruction the beast was seeking, he had wings to avoid her warpath and an iron stomach to feast upon the remains. Worried was the furthest thing from his mind right now. Rattinger had already made up his mind, and the only thing it was focused on doing was staying.

Branwen, yes? She believed that was her name, but she knew little more about the wolf. Gypsy had accepted her and she had yet to meet her. But behind the wolf came a familiar sight and her heart swelled with excitement. A little brown pupy followed behind her. She only allowed her son, Gulliver, a small smile, before turning her attention back to the moment at hand.
It was in that moment that something else caught her eye; the black form of something in the sky. Had Rhiannon not known about the dragon it would have sent her reeling, trying to get her pack to safety. Instead she merely stood there, watching as the ebony dragon landed, watching them curiously. To ease any fear, she turned and glanced over the pack. "Do not fear this dragon, my pack, she is a friend," she said, vowing to explain the situation later. There was more at hand now to be dealt with.
The male's words were like praise bells to Rhiannon. Despite being called silly, the male had already won her respect quite easily with his words. Despite his fearsome appearance, Rhiannon instantly recognized how useful he would be. Cunning with words, and a flier? Nothing would be better. She chose her words carefully, nodding at his reply. She had been a bit hasty with her anger. Age was giving her some wisdom at least.
"Well then, you shall see momentarily that I, as well, settle for nothing but the best. We are of like minds," she said, spending one more minute staring at him before leaping back over to her rock and sailing onto it. She stood, her tail high, looking down over the pack. It was quite small in comparison to what it had once been before she had left.
"Members of Styrrstdar, new and old," she began, her tail lowering, but her ears forward as she swept her gaze over the pack. "I know not all of our family is here yet, but they will catch up. Until then, please do not be alarmed by the dragon. Ardent is here to learn from us. In turn, please respect her and show her around. I am sure she will be an irreplaceable ally in the coming months."
She dug her claws into the rock, looking at the dragon and smiling slightly. "The Spring Tournament will be held soon. Sparring for the open ranks will be held in a fortnight, on top of the canyon. Anyone who wishes to participate, please speak with me." She paused once more, her eyes finding Gypsy. "I would like to publically note that Gypsy will be taking the rank as Beta Female. This means that all the lower ranks are open, and thus, anyone is welcome to challenge. The lower ranks will begin first, finally going to beta male. Simple pin spars, nothing more than that."
She glanced over them again, and then turned to Ardent. "During the tournament we will be actively seeking new pack members. Everyone will patrol borders and invite loners to join the pack. No joining fights will be held until the tournament is over. After the ranks have been established, the other games shall commence." With this, Rhiannon sat down, her tail sweeping around her body. "Any discussion, questions, or other information may now be said."

Dagyr stepped foreward to join the pack in time to hear Rhiannon's last speech. A tournament for ranks huh? That sounded interesting. He watched the dragon from teh corner of his eye. She was a beautiful thing, commanding respect just by breathing. He felt that for now she was not one to fear, not just because of is new alpha's words but because of how the dragon watched the pack. She was curious, not angery orhungry. Dagyr knew how dragons were though, and it would be best to stay on her good side. He sat and thought over his aphess's speech. Dagyr felt a keen feeling of want to portect this female. He still couldn't descipher it. Beta would be the easiest to fufill this task, to gain her trust and get to know her better. He would have to speak to her about that soon, maybe. Dagyr's eyes floated towards the one Rhiannon had named as beta female. She seemed weak, but Dagyr trusted this myou who led him, this other female must have his alphess's respect. In that way Gypsy had earned his as well.
Dagyr's eyes scanned the pack that had gathered. They seemed good enough, not Yagi, but good. Dagyr wondered if there were any other Yagi in the area, Rhiannon had mistaken Dagyr for someone when he had been accepted, that ment that there had to be at least one yagi in this pack. He sat on the edge of the pack where he could watch and yet not be watched unless a new member came from behind him. He may trust his alphess, but so far he saw no reason to trust most everyone else.

Lyra, the newly accepted member of the Cadre, walked across the sandy grounds towards the scent of the many wolves who she knew belonged to the Cadre. Rhiannon had notified her of the pack meeting and that she was welcome to attend. She could hear a distant thundering which she knew must be the waterfall. Here the river moved along slowly and was more peaceful than the rushing rapids farther down.
As she neared she could make out the shapes of many different species of wolves aswell as a pile of hight rocks which she saw the Alphess, Rhiannon, standing on addressing the pack. She could scent the many different species aswell, she was taught these scents when she was young and she had learned them off by heart always knowing a distinct species scent, though the more there were, the harder it was to decipher each. She started to try though, her legs still carrying her forwards, but stopped midstep to see a huge black figure and the unmistakeable scent of dragon.
She quickly realized that the dragon was next to the wolves and none of them seemed worried but adressed the dragon with kindness. She moved on close enough to make out pelt colours and easier to decipher the species specific scents. She could smell sennyo, myou, lyxxus, lupus...yagi. Her heart skipped and she smiled and spoke to her self quietly, "Thank God" she picked up her pace until she was only metres away from them now. Her eyes searched for the yagi she had scented. Her eyes brightened when she spotted him, the green and black male looked remarkably like her he had large black antlers that towered above his head and the same eyebrow horns as she did.
She approached him, nodding and greeting the other wolves she walked past them, giving a lower more submissive nod to Rhiannon. She reached the yagi and opened her mouth to speak her gorgeous voice soft "Greetings yagi, I am Lyra and may I ask who you are?" she asked sitting down, her antlers still not of the same height as his and she guessed that his didnt fall with the seasons like hers did and a wave of jealousy blew over her but it passed her by, she bot wanting to dwell on the fact that she always lost her weapons while most other yagis kept them.

Ahote was just about to head to his den when his alpha’s voice broke out in a ringing crescendo calling all of her wolves to their meeting place. Without hesitation he jumped and slid down to the path that would take him to the rock outcropping that would serve as a platform for Rhiannon to speak to them. He got there just in time to see many events and many wolves unfolding right before his eyes. He was fairly new to the pack, and therefore had not met everyone quite yet, but here most of them were right before his eyes. There were types of wolves he had never seen before, and some he had, he took notice of the late coming female with a small pup, and his eyes widened slightly as he took in the large form of a dragon. He was not sure of how to take addition to the scene, however his alpha told him to accept the dragon and treat it, rather her with respect. His arms tilted to the side as his head did and he sat gingerly down to the outside of the group.
The speech of the vulture did not so much as shock and enrage him, but captivated him for a moment. He saw the other wolves bristle and hackles rise in outrage, but he did not see those actions in his alpha. Therefore he molded a calm façade onto his maw and sat back quietly. He listened to the outrageous comments and banter between the two with a slightly amused look shining all the way to his eyes. He could see that there were tensions among the other wolves, some although they were cordial wanted nothing to do with others, and he merely shook his head. “Females..” He muttered the words more to himself than anyone else, because it seemed as though females often became prickly around other females.
Soon enough however his eyes were drawn to his alphess once more as she began to speak about pack business, not only in front of them, the vulture, but the dragon. It was at that point that Ahote knew she must have put trust into not only the wolves but the others as well and so he tuned his ears forward and began to listen. The announcement of the spring tournament was received at least by him with a large amount of joy. He had intended from his time here to challenge for a higher rank, and now would be his opportunity. He would definitely be talking to Rhiannon about participation for a higher rank. He knew that in the time between now and the tournament he would be training, and while he did such he would try to recruit as much as possible for his new pack.
With that announcement and the opening to questions and discussions, Ahote took the opportunity to move toward his alphess, he needed to let her know that he would be participating and challenging as far as he could go. While he stood to the side and waited on her to acknowledge him, his eyes roved over a pair of yagis a distance a way. Interesting, he thought to himself, the female catching his eye despite the way his heart lurched. As he sat awaiting, the light bouncing off his pelt, his dark green to near black shadows around his chest, legs and tails seemed to absorb the light, and blend into his lighter green patches all over his body.
