Ahote had to be honest, he hated being damp. He hated it just about as much as he hated being rained on, and now he was lucky enough to be traveling in a warm, dry environment, perhaps too dry..Could he simply not receive a break? Snarling at no one or nothing in particular he made his way along the canyon, not bothering to set a planned path. He had awoken from his new den he had chosen within the Quartz Falach, it was set apart from the others, and set deeply. He had enjoyed his first few nights in a dry, cool den in which the lights had lulled him into a sleep. Rhiannon had been wonderful enough to accept him into the pack and so far he had gone without any hitches or downfalls. He knew the spring tournament would come soon, and he had ambitious goals to rise to the highest position available and he knew the time up to the tournament would be spent training. Rolling his bright yellow-green eyes he picked up his feet a little higher and shook his mighty head, his horns moving from side to side as he made his way up the path to the top of the canyon.
He had been moving on for months now and he had not found the mate who had run after their shared tragedy, nor had he run into another pack, or even another loner. He had gone from the rocky slopes, to several valleys, and now he was surrounded by vast open dry land, with shrubs and various grasses. His eyes scanned the landscape ahead of him and found a group of bushes that seemed to offer more than enough shelter, especially for a small prey to hide from the sun. He shimmied himself through the bushes, pushing his horns in at a downward angle to clear the brush and possible thorns from his way. Within moments he was pushing his body faster as he scented prey. Just as the quail was about to take flight, Ahote shook his head to the side, his large horns piercing the bird, and one last sound, choked prematurely ended the creatures life. It was hard to use stealth and speed in this kind of environment, and so brute force and intelligence was more likely to get you fed. For the moment he took over the bird, before lowering down, his forepaws on either side and began to feast on the bird. It was a small meal but a meal none the less and Ahote did not need a large meal as he was in training. He sat for a long moment in the sun and contemplated the fact that very few pack members seemed to be making an appearance.
A while later, his eyes slowly opened to the dry surroundings. He idly sat up and ran his tongue over as much of himself as he could, smoothing and further removing the dirt from anywhere he could reach. The last thing he needed was a coat covered in grime and filth and for infection to set in if he was injured during a hunt or fight. Even though he had not eaten as frequently as he would normally, it didn’t seem to hurt him as much as it would have many others. He had been traveling a lot of his life, trying to get things done, trying to get things straight, and his body was more used to going without for longer periods of time. Ahote was aware of the overwhelming scent of other wolves, coming and going in and out of the area, female and males alike. He placed his nose to the ground, careful to lightly snuff the area and check their direction. He would enjoy the sight of other pack members, if nothing else to gain more information that could be valuable, and he decided that since he had eaten he would spend the day seeking out other pack members..
His tail rose in anticipation of the meetings to come, if he could simply track and stay on their tails, he was more than sure he would catch them. Mind racing he began off at a trot in the general direction, his thoughts pushing him through. He wondered what it would be like to be a member of a pack that didn’t thrive on cruelty, that would support their members through the painful loss of pups, of mates and of family. It would seem odd that the inner thoughts of such a, rough looking wolf would center around pack life, but all wolves needed a support system at least once in their lives. Lost in his thoughts even as his mind subconsciously memorized the plants and prey that were also being picked up by his keen sense of smell. For a long moment he stopped to look around and pondered, what if I am giving up my freedom, my ability to run where and when I want to…? Is this a mistake? Even though Ahote was a chameleon of sorts, in his heart of hearts he was going to do whatever it took to make his life what he felt it should be. Even as the introspective center, protected by a gruff exterior, it only served to propel him further on course. As the sun shone down on him, he hoped to come across a wolf soon…

Lyta was not feeling particularly happy. She was tired out, bored, impatient for the spring tournament, and had not had a very good day anyway. It had of course started, like most of her days, by some recklessness-induced catastrophe. In this case, she'd fallen off a cliff. Only a small cliff, mind, and she'd landed on a ledge. That hadn't meant it didn't hurt. Of course, she was then faced with the problem of how to get down, and had wasted a whole half hour of her life trying to climb back up the cliff before she realised there was a handy vine she could climb down to the bottom on. Then of course, like any wolf, she'd recovered for a bit and decided to get her strength back up by going off and eating something. She could catch absolutely nothing. She'd discovered that she'd twisted an ankle in the fall, and was furious. Not only would this make it difficult to hunt, if she didn't get better fast she was going to be at a serious disadvantage in the spring tournament. Now that hurt. A lot of Lyta's hopes were pinned on the spring tournament. She desperately wanted Gamma. If she knew a bit more about Rhiannon, she might challenge for alpha female- but of course, Rhiannon was the unpredictable factor in the whole equation. She had no idea what kind of fighter the wolf was. She was confident that if she challenged for beta female, she'd win- Gypsy was a Sennyo, after all- but she suspected challenging for beta female without consulting Rhiannon would be seen as a challenge to Rhiannon's authority to pick her second. Besides, even for a wolf as ambitious (and very reckless) as Lyta, it was best to take stuff like this one step at a time. So anyway, her day had really been rather rubbish, and this was why she was in quite such as bad mood as she spotted the male wolf. He smelled of the Cadre, but that didn't mean she had to be nice to him. She was In a Bad Mood and wanted to be left alone. He was not helping (and no, she didn't particularly care right now whether he knew it or not). "I haven't seen you before," she growled as she pushed past, attempting to shove him aside as she did so, heading for the dens, "and I don't want to see you again. I don't care who you are, so go away." She wanted nothing more than a bit of food, but failing that some sleep would do. Flicking her tail high into the air in an attempt at dominance- she was a Subordinate same as him, but she'd joined first and besides soon enough she was confident she'd be Gamma- she pointedly ignored him with her retreating back as she padded on past. (OOC: She hasn't left, she's just a few metres past him. She will leave if he doesn't do/say anything, but I'm thinking she's probably provoked him enough to at least say something, XD. My darling little character. *pats Lyta's head* *clutches fingers* OW LYTA THAT HURT! )

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/62ae.jpeg] Ahote was going about his business without a problem, the sun beating down on his dark green pelt, truly enjoying being dry. He stood out amongst the red canyon, with its bright colors and hot lands, but it really did not bother him. He was concentrating on seeking out his alpha eventually, because he needed to confer with her about the tournament and just how high he intended to go. His eyes caught sight of the other female wolf coming close, and her bad mood was so obvious it reeked all the way from her body, to his nose, and finally to his brain. As she spoke he decided to take a seat and let her make an ass out of herself from what she was beginning with.
His raised an eyebrow as she attempted to shove past him, but it was by far difficult, he outweighed her by…well by roughly one hundred and seventy five pounds. For her to move him would take more effort than she had. His keen eyes did however take note of her favoring the one ankle. He assumed it had probably put her in a bad mood, but Ahote was just about fed up with cruelty for cruelty’s sake, physical or verbal. His voice slithered out, taking on a rather charming sound as he whirled his body around and walked in front of her, blocking her passage to the dens. “Well now, little girl..” He emphasized for sheer irritation, he did not need to prove any outright show of dominance, the sheer magnitude of his body and horns were enough to intimidate, let alone the gleam of his teeth as he pushed his body into hers, backing her up. “I can see why you are so beloved by your pack, that mouth of yours has had to have won you many a friend or at least many hard knocks..”
He rolled his eyes while looking at her, but this time he lowered his head in a rather threatening manner, although he had not touched her thus far other than to back her up. “But let me clear some things up for you. The last time I checked Rhiannon was the alpha female, and you are nothing but a twit of a subordinate aching for a fight. You can wag that little tail all you want, and let me assure you, it is a fine tail, but you will not intimidate me, nor will you dominate me…” He had taken a few menacing steps forward, invading her space but still not touching her, well at least if she had the sense to back away from the male and the horns coming close, if not well she was about an inch from becoming skewered. “Sweetheart you might want to get used to seeing me, because I will be here until the day I die, or am driven away, which I assure you will not be for a long time. So memorize my face..”
It was at this crucial moment, his voice had dipped in tone, and lost all its charm and flirtatious threat when it truly became cold and uncaring. “While you are giving your brain that little work out why don’t you take that lame ankle, and your bad attitude and go crawl into the hole you crawled out of, and quit wasting my time and oxygen with your pissy little girl attitude..” With those last barbs he lifted his head, snorted down on her and moved past her, shoving her finally, but his body connected as he did, effectively moving the female from his path as he continued on his search for others, and eventually his alphess.
While he was moving away, he was arrogant but not stupid either and for a long moment he turned his upper body back to look at the female. There was nothing like a female scorned and he had no desire to end up pin-cushioned by her claws and teeth. His eyes shimmered mischievously while he watched her, to see what else would come out of her mouth, or if she had the sense to move on and get off her ankle. Had she approached Ahote differently, he may have offered as a fellow pack member to feed her, and help her. However he knew the female would fling herself off a cliff before accepting help, she had at least made that clear. Shaking his head and chuckling he sat down and turned his head to the side. If he wasn’t so mature, he contemplated lollying his tongue out at her for sheer aggravation on her part.

Lyra had just woke up, she had been happy to stay in the cool, dry caves instead of the chilly, icy ground. She had picked a spot farther away from where the others slept still uncomfortable and disgusted by other species. The gems were a site to see and she had spent almost an hour looking at them observing their strange glow. She had slept well despite her new surroundings and lack of food, but she was starving now and intended to get some.
She stood up and stretched as well as shaking sand an dirt from her green and brown fur. She padded around the other wolves, some still sleeping or quietly talking, and walked out of the mouth of the cave. The new day was bright and warm, the early sun shone and a blue sky dotted with few clouds overhead. She closed her emerald eyes soaking in the warmth listening to the thunder of the falls behind her. She blinked open her eyes and began to slowly trot out away from the cave in search of food. It wasn't long before she caught the scents of two wolves in front of her and seconds later before she could see their dim silhouettes. She could scent a yagi and a lyxxus aswell as the remains of a dead quail.
She picked up her pace, heart skipping as she now knew that there was another yagi here besides herself. She could now see the two clearly, their size differences were massive the green yagi and his spiraling horns towered above the bright red lyxxus. She could just managed to hear their voices and the lyxxus didnt seem to happy at that. She watched as the male yagi turned and blocked her path and gave her a talking to his head low horns in front. She watched as he shoved her aside and walked past the lyxxus and in her direction.
She walked towards him, standing tall her newly formed antlers towering above her, the rest of the velvet had fallen off the other day and she had taken at least an hour sharpening the tips so that they were like knives ready for battle, she knew the lyxxus wouldnt walk away without snapping at the male once more and she knew he wanted no injuries. For the spring tournament was approaching and all wolves were training hard to get the ranks they wanted, she was aiming for beta female she knew she could overtake Gypsy if she really tried, after all she was a sennyo. But this way the lyxxus could not dare attack for she would be outnumbered 2 to 1. She was now only a few feet from the yagi and called out a greeting.
"Greetings, my name is Lyra the newest member of the pack, I couldnt help but notice you two's argument and hope Im not interupting anything." she smiled her sweet, soft voice carrying over the canyon and surveyed the wolf before her. He was a deep, dark shade of green with many other shades mixed in and he had tall waterbuck horns aswell, come to think of it he was quite handsome so Lyra thought.

Lyta was annoyed as her attempt failed- she kept forgetting that everybody here seemed to be bigger than her. Curse those other species! She wished she was back with the Guardians, where everybody was a Lyxxus and she the strongest of them all. Stupid Yagi were too big. Humph. She carried on walking in an attempt to ignore him when he walked past her and blocked her way. If things really went wrong, she decided, she was probably small enough to go under him. I hate being small, she decided. “Well now, little girl..” came the voice, and a catlike hiss exploded out of her mouth. She did not need this right now, and even on a good day Lyta was not the sort to appreciate being called a little girl. It was even worse for the fact she'd been fuming about how small she was just now. "I am not little," she spat back, "and my name is Lyta." She almost added her full Guardian name out of sheer spite, something she hadn't done in a while. But no. Best way forwards was probably to go forwards- she would earn far more respect, and get further, by being Lyta, Subordinate of the Styrrstdar Cadre, soon-to-be-hopefully-Gamma, than she would being Lyta, Former Guardian Deputy. She ignored the horns and his size- she'd beaten many an opponent bigger before. With her fighting technique, size was a disadvantage, probably the one good thing about being the size she was. If he tried to fight her she could easily use such a massive bulk against him. She looked forwards to doing so. As he pushed forwards, she subtly lowered her weight and leaned into it, stopping him pushing her back. He could probably do it if he really put some effort into it, but if he tried she would twist into him and have him over onto the rocks over there in a flash. Her own teeth flashed savagely. “I can see why you are so beloved by your pack, that mouth of yours has had to have won you many a friend or at least many hard knocks..” he said to her. Lyta continued glaring at him with eyes full of fury. She really, really wasn't in the mood. "I have plenty of friends, just not thugs like you who think they can intimidate me with size and strength," she spat scornfully, "and surprisingly enough, nobody's managed to knock me yet except a griffin, and he regretted it." She physically spat and waited for him to move out of the way. Not in the mood. Really not in the mood. Her glowing Lyxxus eyes gleamed a ferocious warning. “But let me clear some things up for you. The last time I checked Rhiannon was the alpha female, and you are nothing but a twit of a subordinate aching for a fight. You can wag that little tail all you want, and let me assure you, it is a fine tail, but you will not intimidate me, nor will you dominate me…” he carried on. She stayed exactly where he was as he came forward, though she bristled at the invasion of her personal space, hackles coming up and teeth bared. She eyed his horns as they came closer to her face, gaze unimpressed, then spat on one. Not in the mood at all. Really, really not in the mood. Get out of my way! “Sweetheart you might want to get used to seeing me, because I will be here until the day I die, or am driven away, which I assure you will not be for a long time. So memorize my face..” Lyta ignored him, fed up enough already. She was raging with fury brought on by tiredness, a really annoying day and now this. She could deal with the rest of his speech, could have gone away and fumed and got some revenge later- maybe at the spring tournament- but when he shoved her, that was just too much. Lyta had a delicate pride and she defended it with her life. Nobody shoved her and got away with it. She bristled and followed him several steps, and as he turned around, she adopted her time-honoured fighting stance, weight low, paws flat and anchored, hackles raised, tail arched high above her back like a scorpion's and teeth bared. It was when he chuckled that she truly blew, exploding into his face and lunging for him, claws flicking out of their sheaths and aiming for his eyes. She vaguely heard another wolf speaking and introducing herself, whoever she was she was probably utterly stupid coming in at a moment like this. If she interferes she's so dead. I can take them both. I can take anyone! She thought all this as she came slashing in at the other wolf. Spring tournament's soon, might as well start now....

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/62ae.jpeg] Ahote was pleased with himself - To say the least. The female obviously had no control over her temper tantrums, and it would serve his purpose perfectly. It was of course all the small ones you had to watch out for..they were all crazy, and speedy little things. He snorted, while he could appreciate differences, he enjoyed the company of his own kind much more. At least he didn’t have to worry about shaking a hissing creature off his spine…He listened to her words carefully, “Lyta is it? Well you are small whether you like it or not, but your attitude is much bigger than you are. I bet you spend plenty of time defending that tail of yours..” This was actually not said with any malice, just fact. The smaller a creature was, and the bigger the mouth, and perhaps smaller the common sense factor, equaled many fights.
Ah it was true, brute strength could be a disadvantage especially if you weren’t truly in the mind frame to use it. Strength and size were used to kill, and although he was impressive, he had no desire to kill the aggravating female in front of him. Thusly, he was not going to give the little speed freak a moment of advantage to hurt him either. People had done quite enough of that mentally, emotionally, and physically. Her comment about friends amused him for a long moment as he stared into her eyes, radiating fury. “Well, I wouldn’t call myself a thug, simply someone who refuses to be intimidated: Just. Like. You.” Perhaps she could see that while she did not wish to be intimidated or picked on, that’s exactly what she had done when she first tried to shove him. Ahote was not avoiding the fight, if anything he knew it was coming but why not get a little reasoning in first?
“I am sure the griffon did regret it, if only to have to deal with such a wiry meal that got away..” She could spit on his horns all she wanted, she may have thought she had acid for saliva but it would wash away just like blood, just like dirt. It was an insult to be sure, but Ahote handled himself as any member of rank would, even though he had no attained it yet. His eyes lit up as she entered into her fighting stance and he straightened his spine. Was she truly going to do this, waste her time and injure herself further from the tournament because she couldn’t handle a few barbs, and a shove which she had started? “You are a piece of work….L.Y.T.A.”
He heard the other female before he saw her, his eyes never leaving the angry she-wolf. Her voice got his attention, however his eyes never got to see her. He called, “Be with you in a moment lovely, just need to avoid becoming injured..” Just as he finished Lyta sprang, intending to claw his eyes out. He lowered his head as she launched and let his horns take the brunt of her claws. It was near a sword fight, as he kept his head down, shoulders up, and horns straight to defend his face from her claws, that was not to say they didn‘t hit home on his shoulders and back, they hurt and stung. He had made no offensive move yet, however he continued to speak. “If you could see through your anger for one moment, why fight with someone who has no rank to take? Why risk injuring yourself to the point of not being able to compete at all?” To make a point, he threw his head to the side, pushing her less than a foot away and exposing her back side, he then put one heavy paw down on her ankle. It wasn’t broken but he was sure the pressure was not making her feel giddy. He didn’t move to bite her, impale her, or even scratch her. He was not going to face the consequences of injuring another pack member before the tournament, resulting in one less hunter, one less fighter for the pack. Friendly sparring was one thing, but she was out for blood. Before he could expose himself even more he backed up, his chest moving up and down with the efforts of trying to keep her at bay.
As much as he would have liked to drink in the sight of another female who smelled like yagi, and sounded like a dream, he was in the middle of saving his hide from being skinned from his own body and being splayed out in this unruly female’s den for comfort. He finally barked, his voice loud and booming, “What leader will you be if you solve every problem with your claws and teeth? You call me a bully, but who shoved who first, who showed disrespect by telling me to go away and that you never wanted to see me?” It was not an insult or a barb but truth. Alphas, and even other high ranking individuals had to have something other than sharp claws, and teeth to enforce their rule, or they were no better than tyrants. He kept his footing, and remained far enough away from the cliffs that he had no chances of going over. He increased the distance between them, and stood staring at the female. Oh he had marks from her claws on his body, but he had not made a single move to hurt her. He wondered how that would make her look, at least he had enough respect to wait until the tournament started…”Just remember, the tournament is pin only, not to the death..” He waited, rather impatiently to see what would come next, he hoped she would move on and do what she should have done to begin with and gone to sleep…

Lyra's eyes widened as the daring lyxxus lunged for the yagi but quickly changed to anger. How dare she attack her own packmate, with no reason for it all, it was her fault and she was asking for it. She sttod there watching not yet wanting to interfere or just incase she would hurt the males pride by helping him. The male easily threw her off and pinned her down and snapped back at her with a witty remark. She continued to watch as the male stepped back without leaving a scratch on the lyxxus. At this she bared her teeth at she knew he was only trying to be a gentlemen but this lyxxus deserved a lesson she would not be quick to forget. She stepped forward, if the lyxxi lunged again she would get it and get it hard.
But at the moment she turned her back on the lyxxus turning to face the yagi her ears still pricked to catch the slightest movement from the small wolf he had called Lyta. "You are a real gentlemen," she complemented, "but she deserved a good hit, she did claw you and I believe you should have given her a good hit too, but that is my opinion and I do not expect you to agree with me, but you were right to start off with a stern scolding. But I promise you if she attacks again she will feel my antlers in her side" she finished with a nod to him, she was talking more to herself than the male but decided that it was no big deal.
Her eyes gleamed in the light and her muscles rippled beneath her fur as she surveyed the yagi, he was a deep, dark green with flecks and streaks of lighter green mixed in. His eyes like emeralds and his horns stood tall above his head defining his muscular structure. She smiled though for a reason she didn't know and wagged her bobbed tail and then to notice that his was long, well longer than hers but shorter than other species.

Lyta would not normally be acting this way. Normally, Lyta would have passed him with perhaps a polite nod- never asked for help, she was too proud for that and would have refused it even if offered- and would have gone into the dens and fallen asleep, getting some well-needed rest and her weight off her ankle. However, Lyta was over-tired, stressed out, and she had finally reached her absolute maximum. She wasn't really the type to bottle it up anyway- for one she knew it wasn't good for her, for another she wasn't actually particularly good at it. “Lyta is it? Well you are small whether you like it or not, but your attitude is much bigger than you are. I bet you spend plenty of time defending that tail of yours..” Lyta hissed again, eyes narrowed to slits and ears back, catlike in her fury. "That's what I hate about you Yagi. All size and no attitude. Brute force is all you have and all you'll ever have, and any decent fighter knows how to use weight against their opponent." She was too het up to realise she might have given away any surprise she would have earned with her techniques. That was her secret, the way she fought; when an opponent came running, she would twist in with some thought-comment like, OK, you want to come forwards? OK, you come forwards then. I'll just help you a little. Oops, was that too fast for you? Hahahaha. Brute force loses every time. te was not avoiding the fight, if anything he knew it was coming but why not get a little reasoning in first? She cursed as he stayed where he was before his attack, lowering his horns to meet her. She twisted furiously, scoring her claws down his shoulders and back as she evaded his horns with litheness long ago beaten into her. Letting her body take over and dismissing thought, she rolled sideways back onto her paws and pushed her weight back low, on balance in case he tried to shove her. It would be very, very typical if he did. “If you could see through your anger for one moment, why fight with someone who has no rank to take? Why risk injuring yourself to the point of not being able to compete at all?” Normally she made a point of not responding to comments like that, concentrating with icy coolness on the fight. Right now, though, Lyta was not feeling icy cool. "'Cause you're going to be my little pre-tournament snack," she hissed back. "Psychology is more important than you idiot Yagi, with your reliance on stupid strength and size and horns, could ever realise. If you start limping around avoiding me, my reputation grows. And that means I can stop a challenge, once I've got the rank I deserve, before it's even been made." Just as she had feared, he threw his head to the side, trying to push her away and expose her back side. She threw herself to the floor, her weight as low as it would get and herself almost impossible to move even with much greater strength and size- not by just throwing your head around, anyway. She cursed at him as he put his paw down on her ankle, then she very deliberately bit his paw. Before he could expose himself as much as she'd have liked him exposed he backed up and she grinned with the victory. “What leader will you be if you solve every problem with your claws and teeth? You call me a bully, but who shoved who first, who showed disrespect by telling me to go away and that you never wanted to see me?” Lyta snarled and ignored him. "A better leader than one who relies on brute strength to win a fight, lazy Yagi thug," she snarled back. "A leader does not let a threat to her pride go unchallenged, and when I finally am one, that will not change. How did all the great leaders of history conquer the huge territories they conquered? By reputation. Let an insult go and everybody will do it, and nobody respects you. Treat every insult or challenge as an attack and respond in kind and your reputation wins every fight before you have to," she scornfully told him. "But I don't suppose stupid Yagi bother understanding such things, with their oh-so-brilliant horns and fangs." He increased the difference between them and she smiled, he was retreating and she had won. ”Just remember, the tournament is pin only, not to the death..” "That's exactly how I like it," Lyta replied. "Much better to see thugs live and suffer with the humiliation of defeat than expend valuable effort killing them." With that, she judged herself to have victory over the stupid Yagi. He had retreated and she considered herself clearly superior in their verbal spars. The other Yagi's words annoyed her, though. Who was she to think Lyta should be given a good 'scolding'? Nobody had the authority to scold her. She had acted perfectly within her rights, if he was in her way she could shove past him all she liked. She wouldn't expect anybody else who'd had as bad a day as she had to wait and politely ask permission to go past- but then again, nobody had as bad days as she had. They were all stuck-up snobs with no idea of what hardship, tactics or anything was really about! "You," her voice was like a lash aimed at the other Yagi, "are a despicable suck-up to other members of your species, and arrogant to boot. I'd like to see you try. Antlers are great levers for throwing idiots off cliffs." With that, the Lyxxus stalked off, making an effort not to limp and succeeding in making it imperceptible. She considered herself to have had victory enough for now- she could always finish the job at the spring tournament- and now she was away from them and had cooled down a little bit, she could see it was probably best to grab some sleep. Yagi are dishonourable, though, Lyta thought to herself. They take pride in nothing but their strength and horns and so-called skills- one will probably think nothing of killing me in the night. With that in mind she veered off from the path, heading for a decent cave with some pretty gems that she'd seen before. It was a difficult climb, especially with her ankle, but Lyta was a warrior. She would rather die than give up or give in or ask for help. And so she struggled up the path, alone and wondering why nothing ever seemed to go her way.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/62ae.jpeg] (I officially am going to resist the urge to throttle Lyta xD)
O.K. So this female had to be the most infuriating one he had ever met, and while he did find her beneath him as far as a waste of his time was concerned, he was just about at the point of tempers flaring and breaking. As he watched the female ramble on, he heard the other one’s voice and threat to the other female. How interesting, and it couldn’t help but earn a smile to his muzzle. He took a deep breath and rolled his eyes, for now at least he could look at Lyra and see she was quite a beautiful yagi specimen…and here he was, battling it out with a rabid cat. He had had just about enough of being called stupid, big, and other insults from some mangy creature no better than a rabid feline. When she stated her comments about using an opponents weight and size against them he checked that for a later date of usefulness. He too knew the problems and advantages of momentum. The more weight you had, the more momentum there was to be toyed around with and used against you. But it was good to know the lyxxus held the ideal close to her heart.
So now he was a snack hmm? If Ahote were a less political creature he would have thrown her off the cliff and left her there to die, or scuttle off, and gone about his merry way. In fact the thought crossed his mind this moment. He said with a normal tone looking at her, “I am not going to avoid you because your stupid pathetic claws left a few scratch marks. I frankly don’t think you are worth my time, but I have enough decency to wait for the tournament. But if you want to carve out a reputation so badly, come carve it out NOW. I am not going to sit here and listen to you call me and my own kind stupid. If you are so aching for rank and reputation then come get it Lyta. We can fight right here and right now. Hell, whoever wins can go right on to the tournament and throttle the next wolf in line.” His challenge stood high and clear on the cliffs they were on.
As she bit his paw, a slow, and very low snarl escaped him. He was tired now, he was being distracted from meeting and conversing with a lovely other yagi female, and he was being insulted every five seconds. Lyta reminded him of his mother, cold, calculating, murderous. It near flew him into a rage he forgot he had. “Could you come up with something better than lazy yagi thug little girl? I mean I know your brain must have a hard time catching up with all those sad speed quick little techniques you have…” He listened on and on about her pride and snorted. “Your pride was never in any danger, you took out your pissy mood on me little woman, not the other way around. The only reason your pride got hurt is because someone actually fought back and won’t take your shit.” He snarled in her general direction, clearly letting Lyra know he was going to take care of his situation before he could pay her adequate attention.
“Only tyrants rule by a reputation of sheer will and force. You talk about pride, one of the biggest downfalls of all tyrants is their pride and what they are willing to do to defend it. But I suppose when you have nothing else, no beauty, no brains, no heart, pride is all you have..” Ahote found his words truthful even to his own heart. The lyxxus pride and superiority complex made her ugly, and put her at odds with almost every other wolf whom she deemed beneath her. It made her black and dark as far as he was concerned and while he loved being around other yagi the best, he was tolerant of other wolves. “The entire pack is not made of lyxxus as I am sure you have noticed. To be a leader you must respect the differences in your pack and use them to your advantage, not abuse them.”
((Assuming Lyta actually leaves and does not climb back up to attack them ))
It was obvious she was going to use the same insults to describe his own kind and he would save her humiliation for the tournament since that’s what she wanted any way. Instead of retreating more he made his way over to the other yagi female. He did not have to make an effort not to limp, his “injuries” were superficial only and would heal in a few days at most. He kept his eyes on the creature as she began to retreat to the dens and shook his head. “For a subordinate you would think she would have a bit more humility and sense to walk AROUND another wolf. I wouldn’t get too comfortable living here, if she by some god awful chance became the top female around here, I’ll throw myself off a cliff..” He smiled as he got closer to Lyra. He did not know how the other female would respond to the barbs of the lyxxus but for now since she was scurrying away like the coward she was, he was content to sit next to the other yagi female and inhale deeply. He most likely smelled like up turned dirt and blood, but she smelled wonderful.
While he waited to see the lyxxus hopefully disappear for good, and actually he hoped she fell off the cliff she was climbing, he could only smile at the thought of her scrambling for leverage his eyes looked over Lyra. “Now I caught your name, miss Lyra, but I am sure in that pathetic excuse for a show of dominance you could not get mine. I am called Ahote. I must say after staring at that mangy excuse for a wolf, you are a refreshing sight to behold..” Ah it was not unusual for him to go straight from the fray into a serious amount of flirtation. But what could he say, the female had earned his respect by not only offering to jump into the fray, not to save him, but to uphold the values they both shared. “Now what has possibly brought you up here this day, I know I came to grab a quick bite and seek out other members..although if they are all like that…I might just stay in my den and hoard food..” Chuckling he kept his eye on the path downward to the dens, he may have been comfortable now, but he was no idiot…

Lyra watched as Lyta made her last few comments and heading back towards the cave. But after bad-talking yagi, Lyra wanted to rip her apart, she took a step towards the leaving Lyta with a snarl but though better of it and would wait for the tournament. She watched as Ahote growled at her a few more times and walked over to come sit beside her. She smiled at his compliment then laughed at his comment. Her eyes sparkled and she looked to Ahote's fur coated with dirt and a few splotches of dirt. "Here you will look alot better if we get this dirt and blood off of you, you dont want an affection. Let me help you." she spoke softly and tilted her head to lick his wounds careful not to scrape him with her antlers.
She spoke after each lick answering his question. "I came out for the same reason as yourself, but got caught up in this fray so I didn't get a chance to eat, but met a few members while I was at it, and I can see that some are not morning wolves." she finished with a bit of a chuckle mixed with a cough, spitting out sand as she continued to clean his wounds.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i.imm.io/62ae.jpeg]He was content to share the sun light, and the space with the other yagi female instead of that completely knat assed Lyta. He couldn’t help but roll his eyes at her actions, and she wanted the rank of Gamma, it was so beyond him. Not because he was big and stupid like she said, he simply believed the higher the rank the more differently and uniquely you needed to solve problems. He just did not see the ornery little female being efficient at anything than terrorizing people. With a long, deep, shuddering breath he let go of the tension he was holding in his spine and give a few muscles a quick stretch while sitting, by just tightening and loosening.
His eyes followed Lyra while she snarled and almost went after the other female, it was refreshing to see that the other female had Yagi Pride. He was proud of who he was, not his species necessarily, but himself. He was missing the docked tail, but he had had to earn his place more than once and it had taken more than his size to accomplish it. “Mmm?” He watched as she went about cleaning up his coat and he could he honest, he was loving it. He couldn’t help but lean into her as she was helping him to avoid an infection.
“Well I would think the scratches would give me character, but as long as you say I’ll look better how can I say no to such generosity?” He got a good look at her antlers as she leaned forward and backward to help clean him. He noticed they were different than his but not all together unpleasant in view. He couldn’t help but chuckle at her statements in between licks. “I doubt it is a displeasure at a time of the day, I think its all day every day….”
His voice was now at least calm and lowered to a perfect, almost intimate tone with her seeing as they were now all alone. “Did you manage to get something to eat before witnessing the match up from hell?” He smiled and closed his eyes for a short moment. “While I appreciate the effort to clean me, I don’t want you to be coughing sand for the next week…how about we head down and find a nice cave fall to rinse fully and maybe catch a fish or two if you wish..”
He couldn’t help but hope she wouldn’t mind exploring with him. He needed all the support, and if he could get it from other yagi, why not? In his mind it would suit him to enjoy the day with the good looking female, getting to know her, and getting her support. Not to mention being in the water was a great form of training. He tilted his head and watched the land around him while his ears were turned to the opposite side, listening to the sounds around them while he waited on her answer.

Lyra smiled at Ahote's comments and compliments and thought for a bit on the last one. She turned her head and took a few steps back and walked over to face him and sat down again. He wanted her to join him in a walk to the Eas Spring, her heart skipped with joy at this. She would have a new life and this is where it would begin, she was soon lost in thought but quickly shook it off remembering that he was still waiting for her answer.
"That would be wonderful." she replied smiling her overly long fangs glinted in the sunlight. She stood up and shook the sand from her fur and looked at him, "Lead the way." she directed and took a few steps back allowing him to pass, she walked up next to him until their pelts brushed as they stood side by side staring out into the distance.
OOC: Sorry for the wait and the insanely short post. Should we continue in Eas Spring so as that to create another thread with just Ahote and Lyra, if so make a post here and then another in Eas Spring if you can, if not will try to get one in.
