[scrolly:h(260),w(420),sy] It was late afternoon, and the sun was slowly settling in for the night, it's orange glow filling the sky with bright pinks, yellows, oranges, reds and purples, the same vibrant shade of purple that graced the pelt of the female Lupuse watching the spectacular display. Kasmira sighed sadly, her green eyes filled with memories of her family and past: It was here, when she was alone and away from prying eyes, that the young wolf could let herself be sad, just for a moment. She groomed herself meticulously before lying down in the fresh, summer grass, breathing in the smells of the earth.
It was as if lately there'd been cracks appearing here and there in the usually carefree Lupuse's bright and friendly face that she showed all wolves. Her family, or more her lack of, had been consuming her thoughts on an almost daily basis, and dampening her spirits considerably. She remembered hiding in the woods that dreaded night, the perfume of the earthy forest all around, every sound muffled by the thick foliage, except for the distant sounds of the feuding packs. And then suddenly, all sound had been cut off... Kasmira shook her head, dispelling the depressing thoughts: No good can be done to think of that... she thought to herself, and focused her attention on the beautiful sunset.
Still, she tucked the memories away in a deep corner of her mind, and vowed to deal with them... Someday. For now, she had friends, no family, although she longed for one of her own, and that would have to be enough. Her green eyes resumed their natural vibrant green instead of the more misty green they had when she was sad, and Kasmira promised herself to enjoy what she had, and not long for more.[/scrolly]
