[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Raynor's large form padded quietly along the beautiful meadow, breathing in the scent of the poppies. It was evening, and the sun had just set, leaving the sky a dark indigo. His gold eyes looked up at the sky, mirroring the full moon rising and cloudless starry sky. The large black wolf lay down in a patch of poppies, the red contrasting with his dark gold flecked fur. He was new to this pack, but already felt at peace with the land.
He wasn't necessarily looking for company, but was certainly open to it. He began to sing, his gruff voice oddly well tuned, and it was surprising that this large muscled male could uttter such a delicate song: "Full moon rising, my love has left me, Stars are shining, but my heart is empty, Alone at last, I've forgotten how alone can be, The night has a breeze, but I see nothing but memories, You left me so alone, you left me on my own, A full moon's rising, but my spirit's dying." He finished it, another one of his favorites, since Ray had a particular like for the sad songs. [/scrolly]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,465,true] | [bg=ffff00] Faye the white Lupuse sat atop a small hill overlooking the beautiful meadow, having just enjoyed a wonderful sunset. The night was warm, with a faint breeze that tickled her white fur. Her yellow eyes spotted movement, and she gazed at another large black wolf, with what seemed like tiny gold sparkles in his pelt that reflected the moonlight. Interesting.... the Sage thought to herself. He doesn't look familiar... He laid down not too far away from her, and she stood up, ready to greet him.
Suddenly a tune reached her ears, old and haunting, sung by an obvious master of song. She stood and listened, mesmerized by the oh so familiar song, something her old teacher had taught her when she was young and in her old pack. Memories surfaced, and she smiled as the unknown stranger ended his tune. Now she absolutely had to meet this black wolf. She let her long white legs carry her the distance to him, and laid down comfortably beside the rather handsome male. Black and white, female and male, they contrasted.
"Good evening, stranger. I have yet to meet you, yet I have a feeling I will like you, for any wolf with such a voice must be nice. I am Faye, a Sage for the Philia Alliance. Where did you learn such a sad tune? It is my favorite." she asked him, her yellow eyes looking into his gold ones with curiosity: Something about this wolf pulled at her.

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] The male looked at the new wolf, deep into her yellow eyes that reminded him of lightning, and power. However, he could also see a certain delicateness and grace, like a moon flower. She was quite beautiful to his eyes, and he knew she was a Lupuse by her colorful eyes. He might have mistaken her for a ghost, or a Lumen, if not for her blue marking on her long legs. When she laid down beside him, he certainly had no objection.
"And good evening to you, Faye the Sage. I am Raynor, but you can call me Ray, among other names...." he grinned to show he was joking. He was not at all embarrassed to be seen singing by this female, and he was actually glad they now had something in common: A love of music. To answer her question, he answered honestly: "Some songs I learned from my mother, a certain Cael tradition. Most of them I make up myself. It's good to know such beautiful wolves have a love of music like myself out there." he loved to compliment her. Something about her proud and noble stature made him want to ruffle her a little. He winked saucily, eager to see where this would go. [/scrolly]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,465,true] | [bg=ffff00] Faye realized he was openly and brazenly flirting with her, and she stared at him for moment, shocked: Obviously, this wolf had gumption. Most wolves took one look at her and knew better then to mess with her. However, she wasn't violent or aggressive and never quite understood this reaction. Faye openly stared at him for a moment, entranced by his golden eyes, like a hidden treasure. She supposed this was exactly how he was: Rough and tough looking on the exterior, with muscles bunched everywhere, but kind and a wonderful singer. It was a little surprising, truth be told, and she found she quite liked it.
" I think Ray will be fine... For now." she answered, grinning. The lupuse realized that he had told her she was beautiful and she looked down at the ground, uncomfortable: This proud wolf wasn't used to such compliments, and it took her off guard. She didn't quite know what to answer him, and let her heart guide her for once instead of her head, which was usually what the rational Sage relied on. She cleared her throat, as a tune and a memory surfaced at once: " The sun is lonely the moon is sad, The lightning sighs and the thunder's not glad, The rain isn't falling and the snow won't be coming, The birds have all forgotten how to sing, The wind is tired and stops to blow, Why did he have to go? Amidst the stars, he smiles down on me, Forever at peace in the sky so starry." Her voice rang true and held a sad note to it, since the song was personal: She remembered her own older brother's limp form and the agony it had caused her and her old pack, and a single tear rolled down her white fur.
However, she turned her head: It was no good to dwell on the past, and she wouldn't let that particular memory ruin her night: What was done was done, and she knew there was nothing she could do about it. | |
