[scrolly:h(575), w(340),sy] The morning sun lit up the sky bit by bit, and a vibrant red form stretched and opened her orange and yellow eyes. Zippora the fire Lupuse stood up and for a couple blissful seconds, smiled. Then, as quickly as the miracle had come, the smile disappeared to be replaced by a hard, neutral expression, one that hurt or angry wolves often wear. It was just another day of looking, searching for a wolf that she wasn't even sure was alive. "What's the point?" she growled to herself. But Zippora sighed and sat down again, her eyes distant and empty looking, unlike the mirth and passion that had used to flame there before the "accident" years past.
"The point is to find my sister, if she's not dead... And when I do..." she continued, but she trailed off abruptly: What would she do then, when the only goal she'd lived and strived for was over? "Then I'll..." she tried to come up with something, but finished with an exasperated scowl: What does it matter? I'll find out soon enough anyways! She thought bitterly to herself.
Her orange eyes picked up a group of Jackaloppe's grazing nearby, and her stomach rumbled in protest. Zippora's eyes narrowed, and she swiftly hit the ground, crawling over to her prey. Her eyes narrowed, she leapt quickly and with agility, like any well-trained wolf used to looking after herself. Her claws dug into a particularly fat Jackaloppe that hadn't been fast enough and she devoured it all in a bloody mess, licking her chops when she was done. She stood up and quickly washed herself over, even if the blood blended well with her fur: It was no use not looking after herself.
She had tried not eating or drinking, and had almost succeeded in killing herself after the attack, but the life spark inside of her had refused to die, as well as her head-strong nature. And so she had dragged herself up and looked after herself, then set out on her own, personal quest: To find her sister, Kasmira, at all costs. She owed that to her younger sister, and she knew she'd never rest at peace until she knew what had happened to the earth Lupuse. She stood up and raised her head, scanning the horizon: It was time to move. She burst forward, jogging along the prairie with purpose.
Zippora would continue this fast pace throughout the day, stopping to eat and rest only at nightfall, although she never rested very well, since nightmares constantly plagued her. Still, the she-wold was never one to give up, and she continued on her journey, her nose smelling the air and her eyes flicking back and forth, hoping for a sight of something bright and purple. Thanatos was starving, he had been walking for what seemed ages and now he had come across the prairie. His ruby red eyes scanned the grass for any signs of food and with great luck he could see several jackalopes grazing on the golden grasses. He smiled as his eyes stopped at a particulary fat one and started stalk towards it so intent on food that he didn't even notice the firey red lupus stalking the exact one. His slight limp bothered him and it meant he couldn't move as smoothly as he wanted and the cracking of the bones that made up his padless, skinless and furless paws. He burst out in a sudden snarl as what looked like a streak fire sped by his eyes heading straight for the group of jackalopes. They scattered as the female grabbed the one he had been stalking as well. And he lips lifted to reveal his pearly white teeth.
He was about to reveal himself to the female immediately and snarl at her for stealing his prey when he got a better idea. She had already started eating it and was close to finishing so it would be pointless to just waltz right out and snarl why not scare her in the process. He watched as she finished it quickly and started to head off in the opposite direction, clearly not yet aware of his prescence. She would soon, as she would probably scent his rotting flesh before she saw him, but she probably has never seen someone like him before so even then she would not know, it would just scare her more.
He slinked around to the other side of her and as silently as he could headed towards a hill that lay in front of her in the middle of her path. There he would give her a scare. He trotted confidently with his half skeletal tail up in the air showing his dominance. And walked around the hill in the cover of the grass in order to stand behind it. He feared that she had seen his bright purple stripe and white fur streak through the grass but hopefully she hadn't. He came to the back of the hill and slowly walked up as he heard her pawsteps draw nearer. When he reached the top he lifted his head and tail high his lips drawn in a snarl and moved his body slightly to the side, revealing his ribs, spine and skeleton paws. He snarled as he spotted her not far off "Going somewhere?"

OOC: Nice pic!!! [atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,false][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd415/Somatra1/zfoot-1.jpg]
[scrolly:h(575), w(340),sy] The fire Lupuse stopped abruptly, teeth bared, her fur on end, her ears flattened and her body in defense, every muscle tightly coiled, her orange eyes narrowed. The independent she-wolf was always ready for battle, and today was no exception. Then her nose caught the scent of rotting flesh, and her stomach rolled and heaved in protest. Her orange and yellow eyes widened in surprise at the gruesome wolf in front of her: She'd never seen one like him, and wondered if she'd finally gone off the deep end completely. The red eyes and purple stripe were odd enough, but the bones and rotting flesh? How can he stay alive? she wondered.
Her first instinct had been to attack, and her next was fear and repulsion, but another filtered through, stronger than the others: Pride. She would not run away and disgrace herself, but would stand strong, like always. She stood as tall as she could, and squared her vibrant red shoulders. "I am going where I please, and no wolf is going to stop me, let alone an arrogant brute like yourself. So step aside, stranger." she growled. Her eyes were hardened, and she still snarled a little, but she wondered if the wolf she was talking to was real, or just a figment of her imagination: That would be awfully hard to fight off, even for a wolf such a herself.
Then her gaze roamed over him, to the opened ribs, the skeletal paw and tail, and an odd feeling slowly came over her, one she rarely, if ever felt. So this is how Kasmira must feel sometimes.... she thought to herself. Here was a wolf who might be as hurt and angry and sad as she, if not more. Maybe he was in great pain, and there was something she could do. Her voice was still harsh as she spoke, since he had still given her a fright, and she ignored the smell, looking into his red eyes:"I don't know who or what you are, or what you want. But if you are hurt, maybe I can help. But try and attack me or stop me from continuing on my way, and you will regret it." Zippora said, glaring at him.
She was still curious about him, and fear still occupied a small corner of her mind, but she would not, would never bow down or run away in fear, especially of something she didn't know. She kept her orange and yellow eyes focused on his red ones, and waited, tensed, for an answer. [/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(350),w(300),sy]
Thanatos snarled at her comment, he sensed a hint of sympathy behind her harsh words but even he knew he had given her a scare. He walked up to her his red eyes meeting her flame coloured ones. "I am by no means hurt or injured, I do not feel a hint of pain, I was born like this!" he snarled but as he recalled his past his red eyes grew sad and without even realising it he began to tell his story, taking a few steps back and sitting down, his eyes down at his paws and his usually loud deep voice so quiet it was almost a whisper.
"In fact I wasn't born like this. I was born a lupus like you with hopes and dreams of my own. I had the brightest purple eyes and snow white fur with the same bright purple stripe and red splatters. I was told by a Teller that I would have the ability to either control fire, lightning or poison but instead of the ability to control anything I recieved eyes like blood and peeling flesh. I was looked upon with disgrace and horror by my siblings, parents and pack. I was tossed out as soon as I was old enough to take care of myself. Then my brother sought me out and tried to kill me but even then I felt no pain and the injuries I recieved are barely visible as they just add to my peeling flesh. But now Im just an outcast, I don't know who or what I am anymore." A single tear slid down his cheek and landed on a piece of golden grass.
He still hadn't realised what he had just said and that he had told the female in front of him he merely sat there his eyes closed and reliving his painful past.

OOC: btw Thanatos doesn't know he is a Mortui, he just thinks he is a lupus with a rare condition. XD [/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(575), w(340),sy] The Lupuse glared in return to his snarling, the she-wolf didn't even like to be a little friendly or sociable, and dismissing her attempts to help was infuriating. She was about to answer, visibly pissed off, until she saw the other wolf sit down. Zippora watched in awe as the beastly wolf sat down and told her his story, his tragic past. It was hard to imagine the ghastly wolf as another Lupuse like her, and when he finished she actually felt sad for him, imagining his entire life of being hated and disgusted by.
When she noticed a tear slide down his cheek, her heart actually went out to him, and this was as strange for her as him, since she never felt pity for other wolves, deeming each wolf had to make choices of their own. But this wolf hadn't made this choice, it had been made for him, and that saddened her. She let down her guard for once, and sat down close to him, in front, looking at him.
"I'm sorry about your past, and how your family treated you, stranger. But you need to stop feeling so pitiful for yourself, every wolf has gone through tragedies and death and pain, so why should you be the only one to stay down and not get up? You're stronger than you think, and your life is worth more than to just sit around and be mean or cry. I don't know who you are, but my name is Zippora, and I've gone through tough times also. I won't deny that you have had a hard life, but maybe it's time to take control of your life and be a better wolf. So what if other wolves think you're a monster, or an outcast? You know you're not. And I don't think you are either. But if you keep acting like one, then you'll really be the monster you believe to be." she said calmly.
It wasn't nice, but she thought it needed to be said. A part of Zippora felt bad for the other Lupuse, but most of her felt irritated by his self-pity and hate of the world and himself. She sat, her fiery eyes fixed on him.[/scrolly]

Thanatos looked up at the female his eyes hardening and growing cold once more as he realised that he had told the female his history. "What life? This is no life I have, I am hated and feared and I can do nothing about it, I am half dead and have no family, I have lost everything dear to me. My very name means death. I have nothing left, these are the reasons I act the way I do. Now don't waste your time on me, you might aswell be on your way, don't let me distract you from where you were headed." He stood up and turned around his back to the female and started to walk slowly up the hill his limp clearly visible.
He stopped abruptly and turned back to looking first at the sky then at the fiery red female. "You know sometimes I just need a reason right now I don't have one, Im Thanatos by the way not that it matters of course as you will probably never see me again or will want to. I bring hell with me wherever I go so to me I envy you and all that you have as I know that I will never have that so stop and think of what you have then go on but I will continue to go on with my life the same way without change, when I find a reason maybe then and only then will I change." he turned back and continued walking only when he reached the top of the hill did he turn back once more. "Live life to the fullest and love each moment, live not in fear. That is where you will truly find a reason."

[scrolly:h(575), w(340),sy] Zippora was surprised when Thanatos turned to leave, and her eyes widened in confusion: So now he just...Leaves? she thought to herself. It left the Lupuse with a curious feeling of loneliness, and she listened carefully to his words, irritated. Would he not listen? The she-wolf thought stubbornly, and marched up to him, tail held high, her eyes blazing in mule-headed determination.
"Hey, wait right there, mister!" she growled, and stepped in front of him, glaring. "I never waste my time on other wolves, and if I've sat and talked with you this long, then obviously I must see something worthwhile in you, Thanatos. And don't ever, ever talk to me about all that I have, you know absolutely nothing about my past and what I've been through." Her voice was harsh, but had begun to crack an fade into a desperate sounding reasoning. She stood in front of him: "My mother and youngest brother died, attacked by a bear. He wasn't even a year old yet. My father never got over this, and fell into a deep depression. Do you have any idea what it's like to see someone you love die a long and slow death out of a broken heart, to feel inadequate for not being enough for him to stay alive? I had to look after my younger sister because he could not, and eventually he passed. With only one of my family members alive, I vowed to myself to protect her at all costs, and I failed with that too. Our pack was attacked by an enemy one," She was snarling in anger at this point, "and they killed everyone and anything. I sent my sister away for her own safety, to try and keep her safe. But what did I know? Enemy pack members could have saw her and attacked her while she was young, alone and far from her pack, and me. She never really was good at fighting... Maybe I'd sent her to her death." she mused, and her rage slowly dissipated.
" The battle ended, and I was hurt and tired, but I kept looking for her. I knew she had ran into the forest, and I searched for hours, yet I couldn't find her, or even smell her. My family was dead, my pack was dead, my last living relative, dead because I wasn't enough, I wasn't enough to save them, or help them. To this day, I've made my own reason for living, because I refuse to die or stay alone forever. I search for her everyday and night, to the point of exhaustion, because somewhere out there, I believe she's alive. My life is just as scarred and tragic as yours, and although your scars may show on the outside, mine are just as bad on the inside." She finished, breathing heavily, tears welled up in her eyes but pride preventing her form letting any of them slip.
She had just told her past to this wolf, this twisted, bruised and broken creature whom she didn't know at all, but felt a connection with. It was odd, since this was the most she'd talked to any wolf in months.[/scrolly]
