[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] A cool breeze flitted around the bright red poppies, and the sun was gently setting. The days had been getting shorter and shorter, but one wolf didn't seem to mind: Below, a large black wolf walked, the last rays of sun shining on his sleek black golden speckled pelt. His golden eyes searched here and there, almost as if they were searching for some unknown danger.
Raynor swiftly jogged along the mesmerizing meadow, his muscles effortlessly tensing and unclenching as he continued on his way. The Cael's thoughts were a whirl of conflicting ideas and emotions: Concern over Phoenix's and her pups dissapearance, anger over his old pack's betrayal, new feelings of a diferent sort with Faye, and a fierce sense of loyalty to his pack were all on his mind. He stopped for a moment, and shook his head: There's no use thinking about all that right now anyways. He reasoned, and sat down to enjoy the sunset.[/scrolly]

Nova’s favorite tactic was to surprise. Or startle anyways. She was good at that, though she knew eventually a wolf would snap at her and possibly injure her. Maybe she’d be a different wolf. But it was never going to happen. This wolf she was following would surely be some fun to scare.
She spotted this wolf a few minutes back and his shimmering black pelt and rippling muscles intrigued her. She followed him some distance back, matching his footsteps as to not be heard. She was downwind, so hopefully he could not smell her. The lupus kept pace with him, closing the distance between them slowly and carefully. She moved quietly, her eyes focused intensely on the black figure before her and her body slunk through the grasses and flowers like a snake.
He stopped, and Nova crept up behind him. She froze for a few moments, trying to decide whereto snap. She shrugged mentally and reached out, nipping his side above his back leg. It wasn’t gentle, but it was too sharp either. Just enough like a bee sting; hurts for a moment.
She jumped back and stood with her head high and gaze level, waiting to see what kind of response he’d come up with.

[scrolly:h(370),w(405),sy] Faye silently walked along the meadow, enjoying the flowery scent that wafted up at her, and the sun's spectacular display of color. The lightning Lupuse was content with her life, her pack and her friends, and she smiled to herself. The flowers covered her blue markings on her legs, and her yellow eyes were happy looking.
Suddenly, she noticed Raynor sitting and watching the sunset himself, and she decided to join her Cael friend. However, before she got the chance to move, another figure emerged from behind him, the new Lupuse, Nova. Faye watched her curious: What was she doing? Then her eyes widened as the younger Lupuse snapped at him. Faye's eyes narrowed and flashed dangerously as she ran to meet them. Get a hold of yourself... She mentally warned herself, but the she-wolf was now severely pissed off. She considered Raynor a very good friend, even more, and Nova was angering her.
Storm clouds quickly gathered in the sky, dark grey and black ominous things as she glared at the other Lupuse: "What was that for, Nova? You have no right to be sneaking up on other pack members like that, that's not how the Alliance works!" She growled at her, her teeth bared, though she stood tall and not crouched to attack. The sight of Nova biting Raynor was engraved in her mind, and the more she thought about it the more irritated and angry she became. "Honestly, how would you like it if another wolf came up and bit you? I'm tired of how you treat other pack members, this has got to stop!"
Lightning flashed and hit the ground witha crack nearby, and Faye closed her eyes for a moment, counted to ten and opened them: The clouds were gone, as if they'd never been there, and she felt more calm and in control. She looked at Nova, and still felt shocked: Why did I do that? she thought wildly to herself. She was seven years old, and controlled her powers perfectly, there was no excuse for them to get out of hand like that. She looked Nova in her bright purple eyes, and stopped baring her teeth, relaxing a little.
"I apologize Nova, you didn't deserve that. I should not have yelled at you, or used my powers in such an irrational way." Faye apologized, and looked at her, truly meaning it. "However, that wasn't very polite of you." she pointedly added. She wouldn't tell her to apologize, she wasn't any better than Nova, that was up to Raynor to decide. Faye stood, still shaken from her outburst.[/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Raynor watched the sunset with golden eyes, already feeling calmer, when a sudden sharp pain bloomed on his left flank. His defenses went up, as well as his hackles, and he swiftly turned around, snarling, his eyes narrowed. Suddenly he realised it was Nova, a fellow pack member, and he straightened, rolling his eyes and giving her an irritated look. They were on the same pack, why would she do that? This wasn't the mafia.
The fighter in him wanted to tackle her and defend himself, but he resisted the urge: If Stone and Evelyn trusted her enough to let her in the pack, then he would accept that. He smiled politely, and stood to face her: Patience was key, that's what Faye had taught him. He was no longer the angry, hurt and violent animal he had used to be, but a full grown Cael, with friends and a wonderful pack. Suddenly Faye bounded forth, and threatening storm clouds gathered overhead. Raynor stared in awe as she yelled at Nova, and if it had gone any farther he would have stepped in. However, he tursted Faye, and sure enough the clouds dissapeared as well as the lightning.
He waited a beat, and stared between the two, oddly touched that the advisor had reacted so storngly for him. However, he remained silent, waiting to see how Nova would react first.[/scrolly]

Nova smirked. The way Faye snapped at her made it appear she had a crush on Raynor. How amusing. This would be fun. Although Raynor’s response to her wasn’t what she planned, just a simple snarl and then cooloff, Faye’s snappiness was what she was expecting. She purposely made her fur bristle and gave a threatening snarl to the other lupus and then chuckled to herself.
I was merely just playing. Surprises are my specialty, and are fully for my own amusement. I don’t like to hurt other wolves, but I like to scare them little. Of course, though it may be my own pack members, that makes it even more fun.
The word pack still tasted sour on her tongue, and she wasn’t too keen on using those terms yet. She sat down, her forelegs placed close together and her deep chest exposed in what appears to be a very feline-like sitting position. Nova tilted her head slightly to the side in a playful way, and her ultraviolet eyes sparkled mischievously. Then she focused her gaze on Faye, and a smirk played on her lips.
Looks like someone has a huge crush on you, Raynor. I don’t know if you know, but I find this highly amusing that a gentle lightning lupus like Faye would crush on such a noble Cael.
Nova shrugged and stood to walk off. She played with her lightning and left deep tracks that sparked with purple lightning for a few minutes before going out. She was headed towards the shade, and lay contently down beneath a lone tree.

[scrolly:h(370),w(405),sy] The advisor listened to the female's words, and watched her with catlike eyes as she sat underneath a nearby tree. Faye had calmed down enough to know that it wasn't worth frying her on the spot, and she had more self-respect for herself and love for her pack then that. The comment about Raynor had been childish and almost expected, but still stung nonetheless: A wolf like this grated on Faye's nerves, and she wondered how she had ever been accepted into the Alliance at all. The Lupuse respected the creed of equality, but violence was another thing entirely.
She realized she might be hurt, or scared or whatever, but everything about her made Faye turn back the clock to when she was three and still living with her old rigid pack. You have a choice, she told herself, you can let her bother you or not. Faye smiled at Raynor: "Don't look so shaken Ray, every wolf can get angry, including myself." She stood up, her long legs easily carrying her over to Nova. She sat down in front of her, her yellow eyes curious.
" Be that as it may, playing is different if you're a pup: You're obviously a grown wolf, and tricks like that won't get you many friends. If I may ask Nova, if you dislike being in a pack so much, then why did you join the Alliance?" Faye watched her coolly, and decided that maybe she wasn't wrong to distrust her at the meeting. But every wolf deserved a chance, including her. "Hey, I said I'm sorry. There's no need to be angry anymore, and you don't have to answer any questions if you don't want to." she added, her voice soft, and she smiled gently. [/scrolly]

[scrolly:h(197),w(410),sy] Raynor watched them both, glad Faye had cooled down. However, he still didn't like, and more importantly distrusted Nova: The reasoning didn't work to him, especially when she mentioned the part about pack members. He laughed when she tried to embarrass Faye in front of him. He knew Faye liked him, and he liked her, what more was there to it? However, he didn't mind being bitten himself, but her being mean and rude to Faye infuriated him.
He followed Faye, and sat down beside her, his golden eyes assessing Nova: It just didn't add up. The Alliance was known for being a peaceful pack, so why would she join and try to cause trouble? Was she a mafia spy? However, that didn't add up either, and so he waited to judge her fully. He nudged Faye to show support, and stood by to make sure both females behaved.
He glared at Nova for a moment: "Playing or not, it was a stupid joke, and next time I might not register it's you before I attack." he warned. It was true: Doing stuff like that was not only a danger to other members, but herself. [/scrolly]

I know I won’t get friends for playing jokes but I don’t want them! And the only reason I joined this crazy pack was because I was tired of being alone and useless.
Her words started out being snappy like she hoped but faded to a sorrowful end. Her eyes glistened with growing tears but she held then back. There was no way she’d cry in front of these two pack members. They didn’t trust her anyways, so they would think she was all one big joke. The smirk that played on her lips before was erased as quickly as it had come.
She avoided their gazes and focused her eyes on the ground at her own feet. The words Raynor spoke did not give her fear, but instead depressed her further. She snapped her head up and locked her tearing gaze into his own copper ones, giving herself a few seconds to think about what to say.
Well go ahead. The next time I attack, go ahead and finish me off. I’m no use here anyways.
Her gaze darted to Faye’s and she cringed slightly at the gentle smile that played on her lips. She sat up, her back straightening and she held her gaze level. A single tear dripped from her maw, but that was all that exposed her emotions.
