The steep ledge that the sennyo trotted on would easily have crumbled for anyone of a larger build, already soft pieces of red stone fell to the canyon's belly like flakes of dried blood. But the periwinkle blue wolf did not pay head to the impressive sight that seemed to pull at him from below, he was much more focused on what lay ahead of him. Which is to say a gaping hole of nothing that did indeed separate him from the other side of the ledge. That being said he was quite stuck and dutifully forced to choose to pretend to fly and fall to a steep death or turn around and risk the climb down.
Sighing in exasperation Daedalus said, "Oh bother, would it not figure that in this dry land a great wolf such as myself should be faced with a trivial but highly aggravating test of this nature? Is there no hope for the enlightened traveler in this disgustingly barren territory? Woe is me..." Shaking his head he turned about gracefully, green antennas nodding in distaste. One fang protruded from his curled lip and Daedalus huffed in absolute dejected despair. Glancing below him he saw the sharp ledges that seem immeasurably smaller now that he was climbing down. Surely one of my intelligence should be able to handle this matter, he mused as fear started to ebb along his mind. Perhaps following the path had not been such a wise idea after all, though he would NEVER admit to that.
He began his long descent, more pieces of flaky rocks breaking under his paws as his dainty claws scrapped along their jagged surface. As he placed his front paw down a large piece came dislodged, sending the sennyo sliding down a long slide of death. Desperately he dug his claws into passing ledges, keeping his fall under a barely registered sense of control and he gave little growls of fear. Finally he could control no more and with a final desperate attempt at grabbing on to a ledge he plummeted below, only to have something knock his head and lead him into early darkness.
Daedalus woke some several hours later as the sun was setting to find himself not dead but actually resting upon a slim ledge in the face of the great canyon. His heard hurt and black spots danced in front of his eyes and the splitting headache seemed to be trying to crack his skull in two. Beneath his head lay a small pool of blood and with the sun setting and his current state there was no question he would not be able to push on. Whimpering in disappointment he heaved his body under the shelter of a crack in the cliff to lie down and watch the darkness grow. "Confound it all ol' boy, what have you done now?" His green and blue eye watched warily at the growing shadows, knowing that only certain predators could reach him at this spot.

[scrolly:h(455), w(340),sy] As the sun beat down on the barren land, a dark spot showed in the cloudless sky. That spot was none other then Ardent the firebreather. This female was a full blodded fire breathing dragon. Her black scales glistened in the sunlight, rainbows seeming to radiate from her as she lazily glided along the air. Her eyes twirled a beautiful silver from her happiness of just being with this pack and seeing how they worked. She helped bring prey in sometimes when the hunters could not find any. Right now she was full the pack seemed okay and she was just having fun on the vents. However she heard a howl of a wolf before it was cut off abruptly.
Raising a dragonic brow she looked down and saw a dark shape twitching on the rocks below. Her eyes widen before narrowing as she takes in the form. It was not one of the wolves of the pack unless it was someone she hadnt met yet. WIngs close as she tuckes them to her body and she goes as fast as she can to see the creature. With a snap her wings opened back up so that she kinda floated down to the sennyo. She tilted his head as he spoke and chuckled softly , floating above him wit her wings slowly pumping, only enough to keep her up.
She hissed softly as she got her mouth to move in the proper way to speak wolf. "What happened? Did you trip? Shall i take you to the top?" She was new to the way of wolves and knew that she couldnt take this male to a piece of true pack terra but she could take him to a safe spot. [/scrolly]

What was this? A great winged predator to come and take what was left of his life? Oh the sorrow, the despair the absolute injustice of it all! Daedalus would never get to present the findings of his research to the world, the idea of this reality alone enough to drive the Sennyo to depression. The black beast of death that floated above him was sure to unleash the flames of hell onto his poor broken body, darkness claiming his soul and dragging him into the next world. What cruel fate was this, robbing the world of the most intelligent creature to have ever graced it's surface?
All his loves would surely morn his death, perhaps even ending their own lives now that there was no meaning left to them, a tragic affair indeed but only befitting a great wolf as Daedalus. "Oh world, why art thou so merciless as to plunge me into the abyss only to pluck me out for burning?! Why...?! I need to know before your great beast plunges its fangs into my life force!" Through his laments he barely caught the dragon speaking out to him, luckily he did get the gist of the message and stopped his tyranny abruptly, staring up to gaze at the silver eyed dragon.
In a matter of fact voice he said, "Oh, well that is acceptable enough. I most certainly did not trip, I was brutally attacked by Mother Nature and all her crowning glory. Humph." He attempted to stand but barely managed to sit upright, stars exploding behind his eyes. It suddenly occurred to him that the flying reptile had spoken, a beast that he assumed to lack the required intelligence to form coherent thoughts had spoken. In that respect she could be intelligent enough to convince him to allow her to take him up and then devour him whole.
"Bother..." he muttered as he contemplated his options which were slim at best. True, he could tell the dragon to leave him be, but as a thin sennyo he would stand no chance should she grow angered at his refusal. But to accept might be the catalyst to his death,of course the dragon could have eaten him already except....Perhaps she could not reach him under his little ledge? The possibility was sketchy at best and even if he did stay here she could wait for him to emerge and then kill him. In essence it appeared as the only logical course of action was to accept the offer with a degree of good grace to avoid angering the creature.
He nodded his agreement, "Very well kind creature, I accept your generous offer. I should rather hope you do not have intentions of eating me, I assure you I make for a dry snack, not tasty nor worth the effort at all." He gave the dragon a concerned glance before dragging himself out from where he was partially concealed shaking his soft blue pelt out from the red dust that had accumulated from his fall.
