He didn't remember anything. He didn't remember her, he didn't remember the pack, his rank, the nights they had spent together. He remembered nothing. She was devastated when she learned this at the pack meeting. He had shown up, apparently bruised, and remembered nothing of them. It broke her heart to know this, as she loved the male very much. He was the first one she had entrusted her heart to in a long time and it had snapped so quickly like that. Her chest ached, heavy with the thoughts of him not knowing who she was. How he had managed to get amnesia she would never know, but it was a saddening thing that he had gotten cursed with. It broke the strong female so quickly when she learned he had no recollection of her.
Evelyn stood upon the stone that sat in the middle of Poppy Meadow, scanning her crimson eyes upon the home that her pack lived in. She had come to trust the equality policy thanks to Keinvarii, and to the others of the pack. She wanted to not believe in such things, especially after what had happened to her by her family, by her old pack. Sadness swept over her as she thought of leaving the Alliance. Kainashi was practically the sole reason she was there, as she did not want to leave him alone. She would never leave his side because she loved him so much, but...because of what had happened to him, she debated in doing so. There was no point in staying if he did not remember who she was. She knew that she would probably never get her mate back because of this amnesia.
Evelyn collapsed upon the stone, laying herself down harshly. The sunset was beautiful, glowing upon her and warming her fur. Hesitantly, she allowed the tears that were pricking in the corners of her eyes to break through her barrier and slide down her face, saturating her fur. She sobbed, allowing herself to get all the emotions out as she cried and cried and cried. She couldn't stop the tears, her heart shredded by what Kainashi had done and said at the meeting. He did not know who she was, he did not remember her. It was as though they had never even met one another, as though all of their time spent together had been a complete dream. The Lumen began to hiccup, then changed the color of her pelt. It went from mostly white with black accents to a soft, pale blue...
It was Kainashi's favorite color.

Her sobs drew him near, he could not help it. He had been watching from a distance, studying her, smelling her. The more he took in of her the more he thought he was missing it. He was missing something that essentially was right there in front of him. It was as if he were grasping at smoke. His memories were smoke in the empty chasm of his mind. She was the only thing that inspired the smoke. It was just... something about her.
He circled her, his head cocked to the side as he neared her. She was upset and apparently he was the cause. How was he to fix this? How was he to make the only thing he remembered happy? He stood still, studying her. He was still quite a distance away but he could not bring himself to remember. He cursed softly under his breath. He had to remember, it was right there! The memories so dear to him were right there! And he was too weak to grab hold of them. He sighed, turning to leave the sobbing wolf. The wolf who reminded him of rich, thick, luxurious honey. The wolf who he knew was important but could not remember why.
He turned midstep and made his way towards her, his mind still as twisted and confused as ever. He nuzzled her gently, wanting to make it better but not knowing how. Wanting to fix things but not remembering what they were. His eyes stared into her tear filled ones and his emptiness showed. The emptiness that he hated.
“Tell me who I am” He said hoarsely, trying to hide the pain in his voice. It was not right, he was not supposed to let anyone know. It took all his strength to stop his face contorting with the sorrow he felt. ”Tell me who I am so I can make it better”

The essence caressed her senses and she loved it greatly, but the thought of how he didn't know who she was hurt her. It pained her to know that she wasn't really even in his life anymore, though he seemed to have some recollection of her. If he was near her, then that was probably a sign that he remembered her in a way. She gazed around at the poppies when he nuzzled her gently, remembering all of the times they had spent here. This was where they had met and it was where they had...mated. She chocked back her sobs and quieted herself, feeling like a fool for doing this in front of him. She couldn't help but stare helplessly at him when he told her to tell him who he was, so he could make it better.
Evelyn's lip quivered and she bit down on her tongue before speaking. "Your name is Kainashi... but you don't like to be called that because it means worthless. You ask everyone to call you Shonen instead. You are the Senior Sage in the Philia Alliance. You are the healer of the pack, the main healer. You've been here for a few months. We met in this meadow and grew close over time. Magispar, the previous leader, is gone now and Keinvarii, the head Lupus at the meeting, is in charge now. Dastang is your Junior Sage, an apprentice of sorts. You know my history and you are the only wolf I have ever given my heart to. To know you have amnesia just breaks me..." She was almost positive he didn't know of her status with him, seeing as he barely remembered who she was.
The Lumen fought back more tears and prevented herself from nuzzling him back. She wanted him to remember first, she wanted him to remember who she was, and she wanted him to remember everything else. She wanted him to remember and be able to recollect everything about his life, where he had come from and how he had come upon this place. She loved him so much, and her heart was so broken by him. However, it was not his fault that he did not remember, and she did not blame him for that. Her pelt remained the pale shade of blue, which was his favorite color. Hopefully, that would spark something. She just needed him to remember a little bit and, even if it took forever, she would make sure he would remember. "I never call you Kainashi in front of others, only when we're alone because I don't want to embarrass you about it." She drew in a sharp breath. "My name is Evelyn...and I'm your mate..."

It seemed familiar but it was just not there. It was almost as if it was a story that he had heard many times before but he could not quite remember. As if it were a tale told to him by his mother, he remembered her, he remembered his tragic past. He shuddered upon hearing the meaning of his name repeated out loud. It brought back bad things, as if a damn of freezing water had broken his history flowed through him.
He frowned, why only the bad things? Where were all the good things, the happy things? Was his life that terrible? No it was impossible, in front of him sat a fellow lumen who called herself his mate. She smelt of honey and she exhilarated him, his life was good. He looked up at her, not noticing that his head had dropped and all the while he had been staring at the ground while he thought.
It was almost as if he could feel her pain, as if he understood it... but he just couldn’t reach the memories. He instinctively didn’t like that she was sad, it was not right. He was the cause of it. He was suddenly angry at himself and his coat flared red before dimming down to its original colouring. He changed it to what he normally kept it, blue tips and blue eye. It felt right, it felt normal. For the past few days his coat had been starkly white.
”Do we have children?” His tone softened, his eyes studying her. He was trying to find something, anything that reminded him of this wolf. His emotions sparked up and down and he studied the meadow around them. This place was important.

The female could only hope at that point that something would trigger, that anything would trigger his memory. She just wanted him to remember everything, to remember her and the pack. She mostly wanted him to remember her, but she could not be selfish. The others of the pack were truly important to him, important to everything in his past. They were a part of his life now and they were a part of his memory. They were his friends, his comrades. She knew they had to spark something to. He was still here, that was a good sign. It was a signal that there was something familiar about this place to him and that he wanted to try and remember why it felt that way. Such thoughts made her happy, knowing there was still a chance.
Evelyn sat up, shoulders sagging as she watched his pelt change color. It went red, as though he were suddenly angry with something, seemingly himself. It surprised her at the bright flash of coloring, but she was very happy when the colors toned down. It did not return to white, but the white with the pale blue tipped paws and ears, and the spot around his right eye. She smiled softly. Good, that was very good. He was reverting. Slowly and painfully, but he was reverting. He was remembering and that made her happy, knowing there was still a major chance that he could be saved in this situation. She knew, from what Faye had told her once, that amnesia was rare and, when it did happen, that it was close to impossible to fix. That kind of thing put her down, but she was still happy to see this progress.
Her pelt turned a light shade of pink at the mention of children. She remembered the night they had spent in the very meadow they stood in, where they had met, and where they had mated. Her pelt turned a slight shade darker as she thought of the night. The male beside her was practically a stranger, so the thoughts embarrassed her, but she calmed herself, returning to her usual pelt colors. Her ears flattened themselves against her head and she shook it lightly. "No, we do not have any pups...but...we have, um..." She tried to find the right word to say in order to not keep the conversation awkward, but she seriously could find nothing that would help her situation at all. Unfortunately, he needed to know the truth, and she was about to give it to him straight. "...mated."
The Lumen tried to meet his gaze, finding it harder than she expected. He was stoic and, though she knew he was like that around others, he wasn't ever like that around her. He was soft and kind and loving, all over her even. But he was only like that with her, and it bothered her that he wasn't being normal. However, the amnesia was the cause of all this, and she wondered what the cause of the amnesia was. She sighed, hanging her head for a moment before looking at him while he studied the Poppy Meadow. "Please... Please remember, Kainashi. I just want things to go back to normal. I don't want to lose you to this...amnesia..." Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes once more and she forced them back, making sure she would not cry. She needed to be strong, now more than ever.

This time it took considerably longer than the first time. He mulled around with the thoughts as if he were soaking in a pool of rich wine. After his mulling he felt dizzy and confused, this was too much to take in at the moment. He suddenly remembered everything; it hit him harder than anything had ever hit him. The world spun so fast that he lost his balance and stumbled, falling to the ground. He lay on his side staring into nothingness as his memories filled the void.
As his mind calmed and everything settled his vision returned and he stared at a poppy directly in front of his face. This was an important place, Evvie was an important wolf. She was his; she was the most important thing in his life.
”We should have some” He said softly, smiling to himself at the thought. He really truly did love her. He didn’t move from his position. It was comfy and anyways his head was throbbing. He wondered if she would come lie with him, either way he was happy she was close. ”I remember” He said softly as he continued to study the flower.

He landed on his side and laid there, apparently dizzy. The female didn't move, at first fearing another Lumen, then realized that was not possible. Lumen were extremely rare in these parts and the two of them had only come here for the pack and for their home. The possibility of other Lumen coming to where they were now was slim to none. She allowed herself to relax just a tad at that thought, but she was still surprised at what had happened. Was he having a seizure or something? No, it wasn't that. He remained motionless on the ground, empty eyes gazing at the poppy that was right in front of his face. Slowly, she watched his eyes fill with something familiar:
Life.
A smile graced her beautiful face when he stated they should have pups, and her tail began to wag at the thought of the fact that he might have remembered everything. However, there was still the chance that he remembered nothing. If that was the case, the statement he just made would have been extremely creepy. She waited a moment, the smile and the next statement following confirming everything. He did remember, and he said so himself. His eyes, his pretty pink eyes were completely full of life, of something she had not seen in the last many hours. She was so overjoyed with seeing him at the meeting, then to find out he didn't know who she was had broken her. Now this. Everything was so much better, now that he remembered her. Everything was all right.
Evelyn dismounted from her spot upon the rock and padded over to him, lowering herself to the ground and close to him. She stuck out her pink tongue and licked his shoulder gently, flattening the fur there. There was a smile on her face and she nuzzled his neck gently. "I'm so glad you remember... I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't..." That was a lie. She knew damn well what she would have done if he had never come to remember her. She would have left, gone off somewhere so she could be alone the rest of her long life. She would live a very long time and she would see many friends come and go, but a mate was something else. It made her happy to know there was another Lumen who loved her. At least it was a Lumen, as she did not want to be loveless all her life.
Her fur changed to a light shade of pink as she stared at his face, which still seemed to be focused on the poppy. "If you want to have pups, then..." She sighed, not knowing how to put it all. She wasn't keen on having pups, but only because of what had happened to her when she was young, and she wasn't sure if she'd be able to hold herself together when it came to pups. She was afraid to turn into what her family had been: monsters. Evelyn shook her head, ridding herself of these thoughts. She would not be a monster and, if he wanted pups, then she would at least try. Being a mother did not come easy to any female and she was sure someone in the pack could help her. "If you want pups, then we can certainly try to have them." She just hoped that idea would end well.

The poppy in front of him wavered in the breeze yet it still kept its head up. The petals moved ever so slightly but they did not dislodge from the middle of the flower. The green stem did not break, it did not waver or falter. It simply bent with the wind. It allowed the wind to move it so that it was not destroyed in the long run. He studied the flower, his mind comparing it to their relationship. Evelyn and he would have ups and downs, heck he might even feel like killing her at times... well possibly in the future. They would go through trials, tribulations and everything in between. They would have rough patches but if they remained stubborn towards each other they would break, they needed to flow together. That was why they were such a good match, it was so easy for him to flow with Evelyn.
He nuzzled her, taking in her appearance. He could not help but grin at her colour changes and his own colour changed to match hers. They were perfectly matched, perfect for each other. She needed him just as much as he needed her. He was glad he had gotten his memory back, without it he didn’t understand the full importance of Evelyn in his life. He nuzzled her once more and then stood up, looking around at the poppies, they were all swaying in harmony to the breeze.
“We are like the poppies” He said absentmindedly, he mulled a moment, wondering if he should explain. “They are in harmony with the wind because they allow it to move them.” He looked at her grinning, “We work so well together because we are in harmony with each other. We move each other” He grinned and grabbed a poppy with his mouth and gave it to her.
“Puppies can wait for a bit I think, wanna have more time to spend with you first” He stretched and shook himself off, “Spose we should let the pack know I am not entirely insane hey?” He said chuckling.
