The Yagi stretched and yawned, shaking his pelt before jumping down from a rocky ledge. The place he and Tor had called their "home" would soon be no more. He would join them in a traveling circus. It all unnerved him as he sat down and watched the waves in the distance. All cael except him. He wanted so bad to crawl up inside himself and become a black hole. Tor fit in perfectly, but Crow... he was different.
"I wonder where Mari and Bri have gotten to over all this time?" he sighed inwardly as he glanced over the beaches that stretched forever from the cliffs that protected him and tor from possible tidal waves. Lately he felt it was driving him insane a bit to not be able to actually talk to someone who could straight up talk back. Not that he didn't like that Tor was special like that, just that he missed his other friends too. At least Bri would be able to share the same difference of not being a Cael with him.
He jumped, quite gracefully, down the ridges and onto the soft sand as it shifted below his stiff paws. He had to admit... he was getting better at this as time went on. Guess when you get used to having 20 or 30lb protrusions from your head... you had to get used to it. Puffing out his chest proudly, the Yagi licked his long canines in search for some breakfast. Maybe he should get Tor something too? He wasn't as good at catching fish as her but he could make due.
"Some days, Are better than others, But this day, Has got to be the best, Cause, You're here... standing beside me... And nothing else matters..."
The clumsy Yagi wadded in the murky waters as he trailed off into song. He felt bad to sing around Tor since she couldn't hear him. Even if she could tell he sang lovely. He just thought it was polite not to tease her. So when he was alone, as always, he sang.

The smell of salt on the air had the large golden wolf relaxing. It was warm and breezy, nothing like the chilling of the forest where the leaves were withering and showering down upon him. No this place had become familiar, like a second home to him. A place he wanted to show Kaly, though he feared she might not like it as much as he did. Speaking of which, he wasn't sure where she had gotten too.
Brightness could have sworn he had left the young Lyxxus waiting right here while he checked if the coast was clear. He didn't want to run into his brother or any other unpleasant company. And he was slightly hoping to meet Crow or Oomari again. It was hard having long distance friends, it was so difficult to see them. The rowdy Yagi didn't worry him, Brightness doubted it was possible that time could warp their friendship. It would be like picking up where they had left off, it was easy to talk to Crow. Mari on the other hand was sensitive and his prolonged absence may have offended her.
"Kaly?" he called out. Brightness could have been mistaken about the place. And the salty breeze seemed to be all he could smell. Slightly worried he headed toward the cliffs, splashing and a rough song voice catching his attention. Down in the ocean below was none other that Crow, swimming and singing. Laughter escaped the golden hybrid and he began to scale the cliffs to the beach, using his wings to glide down most of the way.
"Crow!" he called cheerfully from the shore, "How have you been? Have you seen a little red Lyxxus around here?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,502,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/mo_avalon/WonderWhy/kalybg.png] Kaly was entirely too pleased to be out with Bri on an adventure, she had left the Children’s lands more times than she could count, to explore other places, but exploring took on a whole new meaning with Bri. Half the time she had rode on his back, gently tucked in between his wings, effectively making him walk…which he should have had no problem with since technically he was still making up for avoiding her for weeks on end. The other half of the trip she walked beside him, trotting actually to keep up, but never once had she complained about the pace, and kept up with him every inch of the way. They were quite the traveling pair in actuality, him with his new muscles and bulk, wings that stretched out seemingly forever, she small in stature, and differently colored from her feet all the way to her back.
She knew the closer they got, the closer they were to water and Kaly had to inwardly stifle her groan of just…horror. How could a wolf Bri’s size and ability want anything to do with water? She herself hated it and she was a tenth of his size. She didn’t dare complain though, which was unusual for her, but she had supposed something special was here for Bri and if anything, if they ran into his brother Kaly would claw his eyes from his socket without asking for a name or permission. The thought made her entirely too happy, and she found herself digging her feet into the ground with a vindictive and vicious mental snarl.
Of course Bri was taking a few more precautions than she was and when they came to the rocky cliffs of the Cove, past what may have passed as a forest if it had more than a few trees, he told her to shelter herself while he checked to see if the coast was clear. Kaly snorted at him in disbelief he would even assume she needed him to defend her. She had claws, and he didn’t, if anything she was more equipped to fight and he more equipped to run! But at the look in his eyes, her tail defiantly stood on end as she huddled between two rocks with some brush on top. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head but she remembered her vision and there was something with horns…hanging around the cove, so she supposed she could indulge him.
She waited, and she waited, and she waited, until finally she just couldn’t stand it anymore. She was not a patient wolf, and she assumed it like many of her other qualities were simply because she was a lyxxus, they didn’t seem the happiest type of wolves on the planet, or the perkiest, or the nicest. She slithered out from between the rocks and brush and began to make her way slowly down one side of the rocky surface. It was rather easy because of her size, and she had extraordinary balance, her ears pricked forward only to hear someone near the bottom of the cliffs, speaking to someone else. One was Bri, but she didn’t recognize the other’s voice. As she landed, she walked around the side of the cliff face to see Bri, who had apparently come looking after she had left her, and a Yagi.
The Yagi looked younger, but apparently all three of them were young, she could appreciate what he would become though just like Bri. Although he was singing..or had been singing which was rare for a Yagi, and even rarer for a male of any kind. Her eyes opened slightly as she listened to Bri ask this male about her and she snorted before coming around the side of the cliff. “I guess it’s customary to ignore AND forget me!” She huffed slightly, her fur helping the puffed out illusion as she gave the Yagi a large girth to arrive at Bri’s side. Her posture would have been defensive had she sensed any tension, and if he had been a female, well he could forget her being nice. But for now she simply placed an appraising look on her face and watched the two larger males in front of her. |

[scrolly:h(500), w(340),sy] Crow had heard the other wolf and to his surprise... it was Bri! "Bri!" he grinned as he dove underwater for a moment only to resurface with a couple of fish Shish Kabobbed on both of his menacing fangs. He approached them as he felt the water droplets dripping from his tan and forest green pelt. Not thinking as usual, Crow shook the remaining water from his fur and laid down before them to pry the fish from his "tusks".
"Anyone want some? Freshly caught!" The yagi took a random one from the pile, a plump salmon of some sort. He motioned to Kaly who had just appeared by Bri "Ah, you made more friends while you were away it seems. Nice to meet ya! I'm Crow, looks like you're not lost after all..." He smiled brightly again at his old friend and this new wolf.
"Help yourself, I don't think I caught your name." Crow paused to let the lyxxus speak up as he awaited her reply. Then moving back to Bri again, curious to know where his friend had been and how things had been since he last saw him.
"So tell me everything, leave no little detail out." his tail wagging violently as he bit into the salmon, eyes latched onto the hybrid. [/scrolly]

The sound of Kaly's annoyed voice made Brightness flinch. The trip had been going great so far. Despite a few angry nips or scratches they had been getting on great while traveling. Even when the Lyxxus decided to ride on his back. She wasn't heavy and it was easy to for him to think of it as strength training.
Forgetting where he had told Kaly to wait was a failure on his own part. He dipped his head apologetically and smiled sheepishly. " I'm really sorry Kaly, I guess I don't know the area as well as I thought. I didn't do it on purpose I swear."
His attention was drawn by Crow shouting his name. The large Yagi dipped under the water only to resurface with tusks full of fish. The green and brown wolf waded to shore and deposited his catch on the beach. Water splattered Brightness as the other male shook himself dry.
"Thanks Crow," he said dryly, but quickly smiled , "It's good to see you again. Got better at swimming I see." The golden wolf eyed the tossing sea behind Crow warily. The last time he was in the water had been with a Ceal helping him. He didn't want to return without that help. Brightness could truthfully say that swimming was not one of his favorite pass times. It was odd for a Yagi to like it so much, but Crow had never been normal.
The young hybrid took a fish with a quick thanks and sat down and almost eat it whole. His table manners hadn't improved much from his time in the Mafia but he really didn't enjoy ridding his body of bones later on and had become much more careful of what he swallowed. "I've been staying with the Children, Kaly is one of my pack mates. I've been learning to hunt and fight, building myself up for just in case I run into- anyone unpleasant," Brightness told him, "What about you? Have you seen Mari around?"

It all actually depended on her. The yagi was interesting in that most wouldn’t touch the water for anything, knowing they would sink like a rock. They were land wolves and she had at least known that much. Many of them would only go to water to drink, let alone submerge themselves. But she supposed if he could swim it was just about a good skill to have. Getting through shallow water would have been a trial for her, and there was no way in hell she would go willingly into the water for any reason. Well, any reason that she could think of at this moment any way.
Standing beside Bri she was surely dwarfed by both of these large males, but oddly her superiority kicked in and she felt right at home, it wasn’t until the Yagi re-surfaced with fish on his horns that Kaly’s mouth nearly dropped open, he was the horned thing she had saw in her vision. She had to actually dip her head down to tell her mouth to close itself while she thought on what this could mean. Was she truly crazy, could she see the future, did that still make her crazy? What if she could control when and what she could see? A million questions entered her mind and as if she was in a trance she tried to think of answers to each and every one of them.
It wasn’t until a wave of water crashed down on her that brought her back to reality with a loud screeching noise of shock and horror. Wet….water…on her…..pelt…wet…hanging off her…like…a…drowned…rat…..Her eyes lit with fury and she hissed in sheer rage. She backed away and began shaking at herself furiously to remove the water…”What is WRONG with you…?” It didn’t help that as a Yagi he let loose much more water than she could ever produce….”And what kind of a name is Crow?” She was seething as she stood there, now looking truly small and vulnerable without her pelt fluffed and puffed out. Even though she was muscled, you could now tell she wasn’t eating as she should.
She sighed and chose not to move from that position as not to get further closer to the offending Yagi. She did however reach out with a paw, stick her claw into a rather large fish and drag it over to herself. The look in her eyes while she did was simply murderous. If looks could kill the Yagi would be dead in no time. Her ears splayed back against her skull as she looked at Bri, he could give his friend her name if he so chose to. Kaly was going to begin to eat to stuff anything in her mouth before she said anything else, because the string of words in her mind were far from anything nice. Her claws gut the fish, exposing the pasty colored meat and she began to eat. Surprisingly, she found herself liking the taste of the fish, salty, and different.
Not that she would tell the Yagi thanks or anything. It would take her a while to fully dry and puff out again and until then she was left looking…like this…She listened to him question Bri and knew they had met before and he was interested in what had been happening…but again he was a male, and physically impressive so she left the conversation between them as she ate quietly…still…pretty angry. She looked up and to the side at Bri, when he had smiled at her she had forgiven him, as usual..even after she was annoyed to no end with him. Her ears did perk when she heard a female name…Mari…who was this Mari…and how deep of a friendship did he have with this…Mari…dark navy blue, midnight eyes turned up to glare slightly before turning on the Yagi…oh yes..this would be his redeeming moment, she would hear who this Mari was…. |

Had Crow been any other wolf, they probably would've made Kaly their desert. Seeing as she was Bri's new friend (and packmate) and that the yagi was more clueless than anything... he took her question seriously. "Oh, ya know... like the bird. Though I don't really like them too much, their annoying and mean. Guess that's parents for ya. I never really got to know mine too well though..." he trailed off, memories trying to rush to his mind again.
He forgot about Bri for a second before turning towards him and catching what he had said. He was just as quick to reply too "Ahhh yeah, hanging around the cove can do that to a wolf I suppose..and it's no problem really." he was taken aback by the lyxxus and how much volume her voice held.
"You ever try to sing with that voice?" he questioned honestly, finding it interesting such a small wolf could muster such great force.
"Mari? Oh, nope, she hasn't been around the cove at least... wonder where she went off to anyways." the yagi pawed at a bone and continued "Oh... ya know.... made a bunch of other cael friends. Been staying over with a friend. I don't think you've met her..." Crow felt a blush rush up to his face with the thought of Tor meeting one of his other friends and his friend.
Anything that made new circles of wolves to hang out with brought great joy to the clumsy Yagi.

Brightness had to bite back his amusement at Kaly's reaction to getting wet. If he let a single chuckle slip through her anger would quickly be turned on him. And as cute as she was puffed out in rage he didn't want to fight. Not right now, with Crow being there and all. For some reason he didn't want to seem like a wuss in front of him. It shouldn't have mattered, he had seen him paralyzed with fear before his brother. The bright hybrid felt a growing need to prove himself, both to Crow and to Kaly.
The large wolf heave a sigh of relief as Crow, ever the oblivious one, brushed off Kaly's hostilities. The Yagi's response was comical, but again he refrained from laughing. Kaly might think he was laughing at her. Bri concurred with parents and their naming habits. If Brightness Darkly wasn't a prime example of an ironic name he didn't know what was. Then again his mother was more or less crazy.
"Sorry Kaly. It's warm here, and breezy, so you should dry off soon," He said sympathetically touching the tip of her ear with his nose.
His attention was drawn back to Crow with talk of Mari. His spirits dampened a bit at not being able to see the pretty Ceal again. She had stood up for him in the face of his brother even though he was much larger than her. He had been touched and was hoping to find out if she was well.
" Oh that's too bad," he said meaningfully. But he quickly let the subject drop as Crow mentioned other Ceals around. This friend he spoke of made Crow tone change. The sound puzzled Bri it almost reminded Bri of how Mari had spoken about her adoptive brother. His ears perked up as the thoughts connected. "Do you have a girlfriend Crow?"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,502,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/mo_avalon/WonderWhy/kalybg.png] Kaly was never truly worried about anyone fighting with her over anything, no matter how big they were. This Crow was just another big brute like Bri, although she knew she probably wouldn’t feel as close to this yagi as she did with Bri, but they had different circumstances, and he had gotten her wet! She was still seething inside, even as she licked her muzzle and sliced up more of the fish to satiate her hungry since her seething anger seemed to always result in a need to feed. Perhaps it was better if she had something in her mouth so that she did not further insult Bri’s friend. Although besides him being Yagi, and weirdly able to swim she didn’t see much upside…besides the fish. Snorting slightly while eating she waited eagerly for Crow to tell her of this other female that were talking about.
She actually tilted her head to stare at him, as though there might be something wrong with him when he actually began to describe his name and such to her. Did he really think the little nasty tempered lyxxus cared that he was named after a bird that enjoyed eating dead things? No they were not the nicest bird, but the fact that he was rather large, and horned did speak of a certain type of irony. Still she remained quiet, which was definitely a feat of agony for the lyxxus who typically had no problem shoving off at the mouth of anyone who dared to get her wet, insult her or be anything but intelligent. As was witnessed by her account with that pathetic sack of bones she had met in the Prairie weeks ago. Her claws stick into the fish viciously at the thought.
There was banter back and forth about swimming, and she frankly didn’t care how good the Yagi could swim, get on about the female! Her mind screamed with the effort of needing information, before he turned to her and asked if she had ever tried to sing…sing? Who sang?! Besides this rather weird example of Yagi flesh. “I. Don’t. Sing.” She pointedly made the statement to hope he got the point. Not only did the lyxxus not know how to sing, there was no way she would embarrass herself in front of Bri by trying to do something she knew damn well she was not good at. Perfectionist to a ‘t’ and if she couldn’t manage to be perfect she either didn’t do it, or definitely didn’t in front of anyone until it was perfect.
She listened with intense satisfaction that the female had not been around…perhaps she had drowned the female lyxxus thought with devious intent. Her ears came up from her skull and pricked forward, now avidly listening that she had her information that she wanted. She listened about the Yagi having new Caella friends…how much weirder could he get. Yagis were the most stuck up, stay with your own breed she had ever heard of, and here he was making nice with…half fish people! This day couldn’t cease to be more amazing. Then she listened as his voice changed slightly when talking about a cael female….he couldn’t really like a cael could he? She snorted and look at Bri to see what his reactions where.
She appreciated his seriousness on the matter of getting wet, because had she become the butt of any rat jokes, they would both be blinded for life and Kaly would have no problem going through with that threat either. When he touched his nose to her ear she huffed slightly, and reached up to put a paw to his nose, a rather affectionate, if not playful maneuver, she supposed telling him she knew she would dry, but it was still annoying. She had also seen his look of sadness when Crow said the other female had not been around, and Kaly in turn turned redder underneath her sopping pelt. So he did like her, like her enough to be sad she wasn’t around! Her mood immediately darkened, her eyes turning to slits as she listened between the two. As the subject changed to the romantic life of the other brute she looked up at Crow, pointedly not looking at Bri as she waited for his answer, after firmly finishing her fish and kicking the bones up behind her, entertaining the idea of “accidentally” kicking them onto Bri. But she’d never get away with it being accidental. |

[scrolly:h(500), w(340),sy] Crow didn't pay much mind to the scene playing before him with Kaly and Bri, in fact he was completely oblivious to it all. His mind wandered of what Brightness meant by 'girlfriend'. He felt his face wrinkle up in confusion as he turned to the hybrid. "What's a girl....friend?" oh boy, now Crow would be completely lost for the rest of his existence. He quickly corrected Bri since he had no idea what he was talking about as he started to bury what was left of the fish he caught. He would get one to Tor later if she wished. "Nah, she's a good friend... first friend I made even before I met you actually. Tor is really nice and friendly to everyone... I'm sure you guys would like her if you met her." he added in, now really wanting to check and see if she was around.
He shifted uneasily as he continued "And we're gunna join the circus..." pausing akwardly as he found it hard to finish his trail of thought "I'm the only other type of wolf in it right now actually. The rest are all Cael. While they are nice and stuff... I just miss you and other wolves I met that I could share the common difference with... ya know?" he hoped he had not lost Bri and Kaly. "And it's a shame, I be you have the voice of an angel..." Crow teased her, not in a foul way... more in a lovingly friend way. Even though he had barely gotten to know the lyxxus. If she was a friend of Bri's she was a friend of Crow's.
"So what else were you guys planning on doing today? I wasn't expecting you to just waltz over to the cove like this..." he chuckled light-kindheartedly, that was crow for ya. The goofy yagi that was too oblivious to know anything super important. [/scrolly]

Brightness chuckled at Crow's cluelessness. He should have know the Yagi wouldn't know what that was. The wolf probably didn't understand his own feelings. Taking a deep breath the hybrid quelled his laughter and shook his head. This was one matter Bri didn't care to explain, he'd figure it out on his own eventually. "If she's a friend of yours I'm sure she's charming."
It was a good idea to come to the cove, Brightness decided. He hadn't felt this good sense Kaly showed him her home. It was a warm feeling, being able to be with friends. Bri laughed again and gave Crow a skeptical look," A circus? Really? Made up of Ceal and you?" The idea was humorous but the gold and brown would couldn't help but think it fit his Yagi friend's personality. Not to mention the fact that he seemed to be doing it all for this girl.
And the laughter stopped abruptly at Kaly's anger to Crow suggestion of her singing. Brightness wasn't so sure that Kaly had the voice of an angel. He couldn't help but think of all the times she had screeched in his ear. It made him wanna wince. Though it was surely true she didn't have a bad voice when speaking in an acceptable tone, well it seemed to Brightness that Kaly rarely spoke in an acceptable tone.
"We were just visiting. I promised to show Kaly where I've been sneaking off too and it's starting to get chilly in the Valley and I've never lived in cold temperatures," Brightness shuttered at the thought of how the winter would be like. He turned to Kaly, who had been mostly quiet during the whole conversation. "I was thinking we could explore around her for today and then maybe go see places I haven't seen yet. I've only ever been here, the jungle, the prairie and the valley. If not," He shrugged causing his wings to shudder, "We could just go home."

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,502,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/mo_avalon/WonderWhy/kalybg.png] She found herself between two rather large males, bantering back and forth about this and that, things that Kaly found obviously boring, and had it been any other time she would have no problem stalking off to explore on her own. She smacked her teeth together loudly as the fish was clearly finished, more than anything now she would like a drink, but she was perfectly aware of just how nasty ocean water could be, with all that salt. The Yagi, for all that he was could have been a Cael, she heard they were pretty oblivious and not nearly as mentally gifted as other species. But she supposed when you spent half your life underwater, well it might have impacted their brain somehow, or at least that was how she thought. While she knew Bri had potential, she didn’t know about the Yagi before her, he didn’t seem particularly strong, or smart…or anything actually. He seemed rather ordinary, besides the whole singing, and circus thing.
When he asked what a girlfriend was Kaly burst out laughing and had to take a few steps back to try to control herself. Even she knew about the facts of life, and love and all that insane nonsense most wolves wanted more than anything else. Kaly was too strong for that, and perhaps too crazy as well…”Girlfriend…as in…love…like…want to be with…you seem nervous enough to make someone believe she is…” Regardless of what the Yagi thought in his head, it was pretty obvious by the way he spoke and tried to half ass defend her as a friend that he liked her…well at least to Kaly it was obvious. Shrugging while snorting slightly with humor she sat back down, her tail swishing into the sand lightly, enjoying the sensation.
The way that he described the female made Kaly want to lose her lunch. Here was another wolf who was head over heels for someone and was in complete denial. How many where there she thought petulantly…did love make you suddenly stupid? Unable to see what was right in front of your face? She was so disgusted by the entire concept she could have spit, or threw up her lunch. But since she was vain enough to care how she looked she had no intentions of making herself look bad, in any way in front of Bri let alone a complete stranger. She listened to the whole circus idea, and her nose wrinkled..what the hell did you do in a circus anyway, especially when surrounded by other’s who could swim so well they make you look like a rock?
Some wolves just didn’t have the amount of sense she had she finally concluded and looked up at Bri. Her head tilted and she turned it back to Crow…voice…of…an…angel…she could not keep the look of horror off her face. In fact she was horrified…utterly so. She wouldn’t dare..in fact she thought about screeching and hissing at him to prove her point. Instead she simply said, “Yeah, well I’m sure we all can’t have the lung capacity you have to belt out those high notes…” For whatever reason the insult lacked fire, more like a statement of matter. Crow was just so weird, she could not put her paw on why he was weird to her, he just was. She couldn’t help but feel an itchiness in her paws to get going.
Charming! So Bri thought this female would be charming eh! She took her paw, claws extended, and smoothly, although inconspicuously placed it on top of his paw and pushed down. Now ordinarily her small paw would do nothing but she was sure he would feel the pin pricks of her claws in his foot as she looked up at him, ears back against her skull for a moment. She did not think she was doing this all out of jealousy but the fact that Bri seemed to be happy here, and if he was too happy, with too many females he would leave her. It was not as though she thought she was die without him but if it was within her power to make him stay, she would. At Bri’s suggestion of exploring, and then going other places her ears perked up and she slowly, and again, slyly stuck her paw back to herself. She liked the idea of exploring with Bri…though she had a hard time believing while they were in the Cove they wouldn’t be hanging with his friends, but that was temporary, then they would move on to other places. For the first time since she met Crow she genuinely smiled at Bri. “That sounds like a plan…exploring around and avoiding the cold is always a good thing. Who knows WHO we might run into..” She said turning to glance at Crow.. |

[scrolly:h(500), w(340),sy] "Awwh, you don't have to leave so soon! You have barely just gotten here. Well if you are heading out on your way, just be careful you don't run into another Yagi. He's not very nice..." Crow paused for a moment before shuddering inwardly to himself as he remembered his meeting with his crazy uncle from the mafia. Sparta couldn't still be lurking around, could he?
"Yeah she's really nice..." he still didn't mention that she was deaf and therefor was pretty much mute as well. Crow didn't find that part important. Stretching, the male perked his ears at what Kaly had said "Love? Never been in love. Have you been in love or had a mate before?! What's it like and how do you know if you want someone to be your mate?" he was suddenly really curious and interested in what the small lyxxus had to say.
"And I think it will be fun... just waiting for us to travel and meet other packs and wolves...it's really exciting! And thanks Kaly..." he simply took her insult as a compliment. Too dense to take the insult as expected. He didn't even take in the fact that talking about Tor phased her. Though Crow laughed lightly when the little female seemed quick to get moving.
"Eh, I won't keep you guys waiting if you guys want to get going... and so are you Bri's girlfriend then?" since Crow was still curious as to what a girl....friend... was anyways. [/scrolly]

For reasons unknown to Brightness, he didn't like when Crow suggested that Kaly had been in love or had a mate. First off she was too young for that kind of thing and second... well Bri wasn't sure of what the second fact was but he knew there was one. The thought of Kaly having someone she liked didn't settle well with the golden male. But for the life of him Bri couldn't figure out why he cared.
It didn't really matter though, Kaly couldn't have someone like that. He would know wouldn't he. But then again, he had been absent for a month. Who knows, she may have found someone she got along with, though Brightness thought that would be a miracle. 'She gets along with you, why wouldn't she get along with others?' he thought traitorously.
Brightness felt a little better when Kaly seemed interested in traveling more with him and nodded to her. "Maybe we should go west. I believe it's drier there," he said knowing that the Lyxxus would probably like that better than the swamp.
Crow was fun but Kaly didn't get along with him. Well Mari hadn't liked Crow much either. Bri found the Yagi to be refreshing, the innocence he had never had. The horned wolf was friendly to all and never suspicious. Though Brightness had to admit Crow would not be the first wolf he would turn to in a pinch.
Just when the conversation had seemed to calm down Crow said something to upset it again. The golden wolf flushed at his suggestion that he and Kaly were together. He sputtered, wings ruffling in embarrassment. Brightness had never considered taking anyone as a mate. He was too big, and useless and cowardly. "K-Kaly and I are j-just friends," Brightness said," Pack mates, gezz where did ya get that idea. I think you've inhaled to much sea water!" He wasn't trying to be mean but he was flustered. He knew Kaly was probably about to blow a fuse. Oh this was not going to be pretty. Next time he wouldn't bring anyone with him to visit Crow. Better safe that sorry.. like he was about to be.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,502,true] | [atrb=background,http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i369/mo_avalon/WonderWhy/kalybg.png] She listened to Crow, and while it was obvious he wanted them to stay longer, which they probably would, it was also obvious he was not the type to force anyone to stay somewhere where they really didn’t want to be. While some of the area looked nice, Kaly would personally be more happy when she was land locked by slow moving rivers or lakes. Things that couldn’t swallow her up whole like her parents had been. The memory stabbed a painful knife through her heart whenever she thought of it, and the pain of grief almost caused her to whimper as though she were in physical pain. Her eyes began to cloud and so she closed them quickly before anyone could even see what was going on. Her pain was her business.
When Crow decided to ask her if she had ever been in love or had a mate she turned her up at the male, did he even know how old she was? She wasn’t even old enough to mate, let alone mate for life. What would she want with a male anyway? All they did was run around, and try to be better than her at everything, and pick fights, they were only good to piss off like most of the rest of the world. She snorted slightly and rolled her eyes, her ears flattening against her smaller skull. “I don’t have any use for males or mates, and no I have never been in love. However, I have seen plenty of other wolves fall for it, acting all googly and stupid. Some wolves say it’s good, and some say it’s the most horrible thing to happen. So I guess it depends on a lot of things, whether the person you ‘love’ likes or loves you back and a lot of other things….”
She shrugged slightly, how did she know when you wanted someone to become your mate? “I guess you like spending time with them, they make you get all warm and fuzzy, and you want to be with them all the time. You’d protect them, feed them, travel….” She cut off mid sentence….wait a minute. Could she….could he…? No, what insanity. There was no way Bri and herself, no. Snorting again to clear her head, “I guess in general love is caring for someone and never wanting that person to leave you, so it looks like you love this girl Crow.” She suddenly felt much older than she actually was. When he opened his mouth again to call her Bri’s girlfriend her mouth dropped open.
She truly couldn’t help herself, and it would be long moments later until she finally figured out to close her mouth. Just when she was about to respond Bri cut in for her, and informed him they were only friends. While a good majority of her wanted to believe that and be happy with that a small part of her was disappointed he didn’t seem to like her in that way. Then she simply got mad at herself and berated herself inwardly for even thinking like the idiot, bird-brained Moonrose back in the Children’s territory. She turned her dark midnight eyes to look at Bri, and it wasn’t entirely friend. The rest of the trip would be interesting to say the least.
“Drier would definitely be preferred but if you wish to stay in the Cove for a while longer, look for this Mari person, then that is fine…” The way she said the female’s name with such acid said exactly what she thought of the female and how Bri felt about her. Her tail was sticking up dominantly and aggressively as she looked at him. The fact that he was nervous and immediately answered for both of them had upset her for some reason, and although she was still berating herself now she had a new qualm. Of course Bri would like this Mari person, or anyone else, she was small, and mean spirited. She had scratched, screeched and in general made his life miserable, of course he would prefer anyone else, you bitch! She was trying to squash her own thoughts as she looked ahead.
With her eyes she told Bri in a thousand mean screeches she would repay this little conversation ten fold. Truly she would seek vengeance against the bigger, golden male. |
