[scrolly:h(500), w(340),sy] Crow rested atop the small island and rolled onto his back to kick the clouds playfully. Man, all this time and he was still wandering around aimlessly. He cocked his head to one side and began to ponder about his future. He shook the sand from his dusty colored pelt as he crouched into a sitting position.
"Hmmm... I could end up staying alone occasionally meeting friends as I go. But I've lived that life enough. Where do I belong?" The yagi sighed and he laid back in the sand, resting his head on his paws as he peered off into the rising morning sun and the waters a mile or so away... Okoe Beach in sight.
Crow couldn't help but laugh and think about what had happened so far, who he had met and what they had shared together. He longed to see them all again, Tor... Bri and hopefully he could meet some new people as well. Who knows what could happen? Stretching out on his side now he closed his eyes to try and wipe away all the rushing thoughts away.
Today he decided, would be his lazy morning in the Cove. [/scrolly]

She caught its every tail flick as it attempted to flee from its cael purser. Bubbles rushed through her fur and scales as she dove deeper, propelling herself even faster with her thick diamond fluke. Strategy was already on her mind as she got closer to the poor bass. She was going to catch up to that little bugger and... whack! She somersaulted in the water and had her powerful tail slamming into the fish's dainty body. Then she stretched her jaws open, making beeline for the dazed fish with water rushing into her mouth. But Tortoiseshell kept all of her attention on her prey, especially when she closed her scalpel-sharp teeth over it and snapped, killing it instantly. The bass's blood filled her mouth and the water all around her started to run red.
Now that her hunting is over, Tor's lungs started to scream. Her pretty head snapped to the surface, her destination, and had her tail to force her upwards. After a brief moment her fish-filled muzzle interrupted the calm surface and the silver-green cael's head bobbed with its nostrils flaring to breathe in the salty air. Her metallic eyes began their search for land; Tortoiseshell can eat underwater easily but she preferred to eat ashore.
After spotting an island, she swam over to it steadily and began to push her waterlogged body up the island's mini beach. There she waited for it to dry and transform and, while she waited, she sniffed the air almost tiredly and flopped on her back. She let out her fish suddenly when she scented something familiar. Crow! Alert, Tortoiseshell lifted her torso upwards with her drying flippers with her ears forwards and eyes wide with interest. Then a mischievous smile made its way on her face. The wind was working with her so Crow can't scent her and maybe she could surprise him. The cael looked back to her damp body then to the rising sun then flopped back impatiently. Hopefully the wind would be happy enough to continue to work with her until her body was completely dry.
Slowly, by one and one, her scales softened into hairs. And soon enough Tor stood up with fish in her jaws again then, hurriedly, she made her way towards her friend. He was closer than she expected. Tor saw him lying down on his side and stifled a chortle. Then she sprinted and leapt towards him. Soon Tor found herself standing above Crow, straddling him and looked down at him and dropped her bass on his flank before giving one of her wide smiles. Hi! Her mind spoke out to his.

Before the young yagi knew it, Tor had appeared out of thin air and dropped a fish on his face. That was enough to excite him and for his tail to thud into the soft sand at a ridiculously fast pace. He let his tongue loll out of his maw as he rolled onto his back and barked back friendly. Am I hearing things or did she just say hi to me, no wait... she can't hear so how can she speak? Did her lips even move? He curiously cocked his head to one side.
Then he thought he'd have some fun. He thought to himself as he looked to her, turning onto his back and crawling from underneath her and scooping up the fish in his jaws and crouching into a playful position. Can you catch me? Crow's tail still wagging furiously as he taunted her and whimpered, his golden eyes staring into her metallic orbs.

The surprise dissolved from his young face as he began to recognise her with a wag of his tail and a soundless (for Tor) bark as he turned onto his back. She laughed as she saw a confusion on his face. Tortoiseshell has guessed how "Hi" sounded and tried it out through telepathy and, apparently, she mind-spoke it out correctly. That surprised her then made her think. Maybe she could learn to speak, just a few words not the whole dictionary. She could feel the vibrations on one's throat and attempt to copy the vibrations in her own throat. The thought excited her.
But her idea was soon put aside when he felt Crow underneath her sliding away, brushing her fur and Tor moved backwards. She watched him snatching the fish up and positioned himself into a playful crouch, looking up at her. Something stroked her mind, something like a noise. Crow was telling her something in her mind but she didn't understand it, Tor couldn't form the sound into words. But she did understand what he wanted. His crouch and taunt were enough, so Tor copied his posture and gave a sing-song bark. Almost at once, her long legs began to move suddenly and swiftly to move forward at her friend into a chase.

He swiveled on his hind legs and sprinted across the open sandy island. Crow glanced back once or twice to see if she was still following him in pursuit. A giant grin plastered on his clamped jaws, the scent of fish making him quite hungry. He checked once more to make sure he hadn't lost her but he didn't see anyone there.
Cocking his head to the side again, fish still in jaws, he blinked a couple of times before dropping it at his paws and panting a bit. The yagi scanned the horizons, was she hiding? Did he lose her? Tor certainly couldn't turn invisible... at least he was pretty sure she couldn't.

She barked at him with a clear meaning, my fish!. She saw him glancing at her so the lithe cael decided to surprise him yet again; with a sharp turn she disappeared from chasing him. The island was pretty small but big enough to make some surprise turns. Soon she found the yagi standing there, looking around, confused.
She hovered a good way away from Crow's left, silently searching any way to do to win against him. Then, with a shrill laughter, Tortoiseshell suddenly leapt at the young male, paws outstretched, almost touching his side with the intention of knocking him down and attempted to snatch her bass from Crow's powerful grasp.

[scrolly:h(500), w(340),sy] The yagi jumped in surprise and ended up knocking himself over. He was such a clumsy dork at times. Looking up at her he noticed her steal the fish back and he laughed. "So much for that game... huh?" he spoke to her as he thought how silly they were for running around with a fish.
"It sucks you can't hear me sing... I think my voice is pretty good, almost good enough as a Cael. I wonder if you ever tried to sing before Tor..." he thought aloud peering into her hungry eyes. Those lovely droplets of water, staring him down. He felt that he belonged here. With Tor and at the cove. Him and Mari and Bri and Tor... they could live here together! Now he felt he was just being silly...
Crow laid down near her and gave her puppy eyes, his stomach making those grumbly noises. Sure if he really wanted to he could catch something. But he wasn't good at catching fish like Tor. Maybe she could teach him sometime? Yeah. He would much like that. [/scrolly]

But she felt his gold gaze on her so Tortoiseshell met his gaze with her own silver ones. Below his eyes, Tor could see his mouth speaking soundlessly. But he was thinking to her as he was speaking.
The thought of Crow singing then her deafness was clear in her mind. She inclined her head wonderingly, was this yagi actually a good singer? She regretted that she would never hear his voice along just like she never would with anyone. Then a sudden idea came to her. Maybe she could feel the vibrations of his voice while he sings. Tor knew enough vibrations to distinguish whether it was soft and rhythmic or off and rough, after all she was considered as a okay-ish singer. Well, that was what everyone had motioned whenever they had heard it.
Then another thought was being sent to her by Crow; she smiled at him. That indicated a yes. She liked to feel the vibrations of her own voice, especially when it has been soothed into a soft sing-song voice. Also what cael doesn't sing?
The cael giggled when she saw his hungry eyes before turning to her fish. She started to look at it almost longingly before snapping it in a half. With a short nudge, she gave the finned half to her earthy friend, keeping head for herself. She especially liked the various flavours and textures of the head on her tongue and decided to be greedy for once.

[scrolly:h(500), w(340),sy] His tail began to sway in the sand, could she read his mind? When he questioned about singing she seemed to jump back with a smoothing smile. That made Crow have butterflies in his stomach as he sighed contently at her. I think we're different... because you were my first friend. Maybe I was yours too? He asked himself, taking another glance at her cute form sprawled out in the sand.
Then he started to wonder what Tor would sound like if she sang aloud. Surely it would still be beautiful indeed. Even if there were no words... he felt her song would be that much more different and alluring because of that. He scratched the back of his ear with his right hind leg, soothing an itch. I wonder what it's like to have a long fin instead of back legs... he blinked looking back to her.
The young yagi panted with joy, gratefully taking the other half of the fish. He was happy he had friends to share experiences with now. Surely they and other wolves could learn to live peacefully together. The thought made his face lighten up as his tail thudded against the sandy turf again. Crow had to admit, he loved spending his time best with Tor. They seemed to understand each other so well. [/scrolly]

She 'saw' Crow's thoughts in her mind. They were different? Physically obviously but... different? What difference was Crow thinking about? The young horned wolf wasn't looking at her so she assumed that the question was solely for himself but still she wondered. Both of them were fun-loving animals and happy with each other. For her, their friendship fitted neatly just like a jigsaw puzzle, perfect and connected. Tortoiseshell was slightly distracted by her friend's thought when she picked another thought up from Crow. Again, from his lack of attention toward her, she assumed it was for himself. Can she turn it off? If so, how? Some thoughts can be private and she didn't want to know them by accident.
Despite her worries, Tor grinned at Crow widely. She liked his second thought; all caella have the best of both worlds but to describe the feeling when she turned into a finned wolf and used it to swim... It was tough as it came so naturally to her therefore she was so used to it. But she really wanted to describe what it was like to him. Tortoiseshell thought about her transformation; it was like... having her fur absorbing water then the feeling of it hardening. Then the image of her darting through the salty water gave her the sensation of having water rushing at her body, through her fur, ruffling them and over her scales, caressing them.
Suddenly she swivelled her ears forward and looked at Crow with an interest. Maybe she could transfer those thoughts to him... Again the cael began to think about those feelings but this time she was focusing them at Crow. When she thought she was done she began to see the yagi again instead of the image of the sea.

[scrolly:h(500), w(340),sy] [[It's okay xD Im having trouble with muse here lately too @_@ can't wait for the cael circus! Then we will have some action x3!]]
Crow finished eating when he looked up at Tor and they seemed to lock eyes together. She turned her ears towards him, was she trying to listen to him? But he wasn't speaking? Then the yagi thought about how she seemed to be able to read his mind and the spark ignited the flame in the horned wolf's head. She was trying to speak to him, through thoughts of her own!
He continued to stare at her, then he closed his eyes for a moment, and it was there. It felt like he was really experiencing it himself. The water hardening his own back legs and replacing them with a scaly fin. He felt a new sensation take over his fur as the water went past his own body. Then he saw Tor as she rode the currents, he felt to chase after her. The thoughts making him oblivious to the rest of the outside world.
Crow sighed in contentment as he reopened his eyes and leaned in to nuzzle the right side of her face with his own. It made him so happy they could share such thoughts together, he almost felt like he himself wasn't a yagi anymore... but when he glanced up at his own forehead... he was indeed still the same purebred he was born. Horns and all. He whimpered in sadness that he wasn't the same as Tor and that he may never ever be able to live in the same way she does. [/scrolly]

She smiled happily as she saw his eyes awaken and his muzzle moving toward her face. As he nuzzled her cheek, she purred. She wished that this moment could last forever; just her and Crow against the world. She dropped her body to ground gracefully and shuffled up against her friend's warm body and closed her eyes against the warm solar rays.
She opened her eyes again after a moment or so and looked up at Crow. His face was contorted with sadness and his mouth formed a sigh. Tortoiseshell moved her head away from him and looked at him with a puzzle look on her face. Her confusion was cleared when she spotted him trying to look at his horns. Realisation crept to her slowly as she struggled to understand him. Who wouldn't want to be themselves? Tor was perfectly happy with herself but Crow-- Oh. Crow didn't like how he looked? She looked at him and shook her head almost pleadingly. No. No.
She gave the memory of her and Crow meeting the first time to him, and the rest of their meetings. In those memories it was painfully clear that she liked him no matter how he looked. They had played, communicated and curled up with each other. And not once Tor had resented him just because he was a yagi. If he wasn't a yagi then he wouldn't be the Crow she knew.

A soft smile returned to his features, guess you're right Tor... we are only this close because of who I am right now, not what I want to be. The yagi yipped happily as he bore into the other wolves shining orbs, he wanted nothing more than to be with her, by her side. Even if he couldn't really protect her, he would die trying at this point. Sighing in relief and new found self cofindence in himself, Crow sat up straight and looked out onto the world below and beyond them, towards the sea.
Determined thoughts ran through his mind, I will need to learn then...while I'm still young! Then and only then will I be able to protect you Tor. Im sure these horns and fangs weren't given to me for show..."I just can't imagine hurting someone though..." he thought aloud as he looked back to the cael before him. How much her pelt glistened in the afternoon sun. Just realizing how much beauty the young yagi found in Tor. He couldn't help himself anymore.
Crow nuzzled her affectionately once more and licked her ears. He yawned as they watched the sun start to set... come to think of it... he didn't really get much of a nap... No thanks to Tor!Silly Caella! he barked and panted at her playfully, placing his front forepaws over hers and licking her face. Maybe I could stay the night again? Since I don't have a place to call my own just yet...? Crow jumped back and shook his hind end in the air before releasing another yawn.

She didn't like seeing him moping around, wanting to be a completely different species. She saw his face transform, from the soft features into a determined look. Tor soon pick up what he was thinking and with this, she was alarmed. She had never thought about Crow's species properly. Yagi was naturally aggressive and defensive species, completely proud in themselves. She did not once thought this yagi would want to be part of his species. But then it was good for him. At least, if he decided to make the most of his unique attributes he wouldn't have to be miserable with an impossible desire to become a cael.
She huffed sharply when Crow thought about fighting to defend her. But her small outburst was interrupt by an unexpected move of affection made by her friend. She grinned widely, completely surprised by the action. It was nice to have friend who care. She returned his affection with a nuzzle to cheek. Then he asked her if he could stay for one more night. She wrinkled her muzzle and furrowed her brows as if she was considering it but the amused twinkle in her eyes betrayed her. She would really love to have Crow. He was a lovely company. Tor didn't like being alone either.
She watched him retreating and yawning but Crow's thought of her being defenceless didn't leave her mind. Defenceless was she? She snorted and leapt to her paws. She saw how defenceless Crow was and dashed toward him, preparing to leap at the right time. Defenceless, eh?

Completely caught off guard, the yagi yelped in suprise as he jumped backwards and landed on his back. He glanced up at her light and delicate form that was standing above him now. Okay... so maybe he had gone a little to far with saying she needed him to protect her. Heck, he could barely protect himself... how was he going to protect Tor?
You're so cute when you're rambunctious...
He licked her face playfully as his tail began to wag in the sand again. She had lots of spunk for someone who was frail and fragile. Crow panted and bore into her water droplets that gazed upon his own face. He let his body go limp as he closed his eyes and stopped moving.
Okay, guess you win... you're too strong and powerful for me... almighty Tor! he slightly opened one eye to see her expression.
It was true, Crow was not the fighter.
