The last thing she needed was to put her life in danger with another loner or pack member coming by and saving her. Only to realize the scrawny wolf was the alpha of the pack residing there.
She sighed, it was a good thing Nepara had explored most of the other territories before deciding to make her pack a reality. She frowned, things weren't turning out how she had planned. It seemed like all her friends were slowly losing faith in her or disappearing left and right. At this rate, she wouldn't even have a pack. things were only going to get rougher along the way with winter quickly approaching. Hopefully that would bring in some loners out of the cold and into the Sono Nyx's grasps.
"Hmph, I bet I'm the only pack with an eremus is high power...and now I know why.." she sighed as her fell backwards onto her haunches, her ears drooping and becoming floppy. "Gah! Stop it!" she growled at herself, shaking her head to try and straighten her ears, her blonde tuft of fur on her head fluffing out as she shook herself. Nepara sighed again as her ears rested slightly folded in front of her face, just rolling her eyes and giving up at this point.
"I should remark the pack borders I guess..." she sighed, feeling a bit lonely as she made her way close to the edge of the pack lands.

Leo joined with the shadows, keeping his head down, aware that he could not be seen. He was lost within his own thoughts as, shown by the occasional growl that escaped his throat without his notice. He was being led by his instincts, naturally melding himself with the shadows as he moved. As much as he hated what this power meant, he could not deny its uses. It was equivalent to being invisible. That was exactly what he needed now, to be invisible, the closest he could get to non-existence. Some time had passed before he took notice of his surroundings. He paused, recognizing it immediately. The swamp. It meant so much to him. So much had happened here. He could almost smell Nepara, almost hear her voice. He wondered whether she had started her pack. He sniffed the air, inhaling the scent of various wolf. It seemed possible. He thought back to the morning when he had followed the strangely familiar scent, unaware that it belonged to his younger brother. They had looked the same. Last time he had seen his brother before that day, his brother had been a new-born pup. His eyes were burning. It was strange hearing about his mother’s death, knowing that had he not followed the trail, and met his family once more, he would never have known. The pack was also fully Lupus now, the other two wolves having left. Or died. He wasn’t sure, he hadn’t thought to ask. Well, it hardly mattered now. He was no longer a part of that pack. He no longer was a member of a family. The weight of this new found loneliness weighed heavily on his shoulders. He hesitated, another familiar scent mingled in the air. He wasn’t sure whether to follow it or not. But...It had been so long since he had seen her. She had been in his thoughts while he had been away with his birth pack. He sighed, turning to follow the scent. It didn’t take long for him to see her. He stayed as part of the shadows, watching her, feeling like an intruder. She seemed...sad. He didn’t know whether he should say something. He was invisible to her, but as a sudden breeze blew his scent towards, he remembered that he was not undetectable.

She only wanted to have fun, everyone equal to the fame their lives may lead. Did no one think it was a good idea? The eremus' tear swelled eyes paused for a moment as the winds blew her blonde tuft of hair behind her head.
Something so strange, yet so similar, that smell, she knew this smell. A loner perhaps? It was possible, anyone to add to the pack's size brought a quickened pace to her heart as she slowly moved near the brush that was covered in dark shadows. Her head and tail raised high as she tried to see if someone was there. Nepara's tail wagging slowly as she tried to keep confidence in her midst. I smell you loner, come out so I may see you. What business do you have with my pack?" her hair rose on the back of her neck. Could it be? Was she seeing a ghost.
Her blue eyes meet similar lupus ones as her breath shortened and her stance less dominating. Confusion washed over her features as her hooves took a step or two back onto the mushy grass. "L-leo... is it really you?" she tried to hide her excitement but her voice cracked at the end in a slight squeal. Here, all this time, he had simply vanished from her life. But now he was back, standing only mere inches from her, hiding in the darkness.
Something told her to be angry at him, for abandoning her to start her pack on her own without him. But another part of her, wanted to feel his warm body against her own. Emotions going left and right, the jester had no idea what to do next. Then again, she was flexible, so she could make anything work. And this was no exception...
"Where have you been this whole time??" more concern than anger on her expression. "I worried about you, I thought a dragon or something had swept you up and ate you or something.." the tears in her eyes threatening to fall down her flawless white face.

Leo couldn’t help but wonder what the use of this power was, when the moment that someone knew you were there, they could see you. Although, he couldn’t say that he regretted it. “You started the pack then” He commented, examining her. There was some strange feeling in the air, which he couldn’t place. He glanced around the clearing for a moment, half expecting to see pack wolves hiding in the shadows. Well, if he could do it, why not them? He realized that he had tensed. He forced himself to relax, narrowing his eyes slightly. He expected her to be angry with him, but this was different. He was prepared for the question that he knew would come, but still...how to answer it. He wasn’t sure he was ready to tell anyone what had happened while he had been gone. That was locked deep within him. He was the only one that had access to the knowledge of what had happened and he would like to keep it that way. She hadn’t appeared to have noticed his new power, properly assuming that he had just been hiding in the shadows, rather than becoming them. He remembered when he had first met her, entering with an extravagant light display, all in order to get a drink. He felt the familiar fizzle of energy building up, a small coat of flame forming over his fur. He had often starting performing this simple action, to insure that he had not lost one power in return for another. However, he had managed to keep his fire power intact, although he still had the worry. He tilted his ear forwards, hearing that she had worried about him. He knew he shouldn’t be surprised, but he was. Their relationship had grown closer before he had left, and he often wondered what would have happened had he not left. “I...stumbled across my old pack, and spend some time with them” He said, telling a half-truth. That had happened, but it hadn’t been the full story. She wasn’t going to get more out of him though. “So how is the pack going?” He asked, expertly changing the subject.

[Bear with me, its on mobile and maybe sloppy or have typos Dx]
nepara had never thought about who leo might have been before she encountered him, much less if it would effect him. she grew up as the laughing stock of her whole birth pack. she would never go back and see them again. no. but leo, he seemed to care for former ties to the past. she began to wonder if he would want to move on or go back. would he leave again so soon when he had just come back?
Then he asked the big question, she wanted to stab him in his heart with a bitter reply like 'it could have gone soother if you were here...' but she couldn't bring herself to do it. It just wasn't in neparas nature. "Fine, a bit rough of a start, but were making due.." the eremus had to ask, she couldn't face it any longer. She had to know, it was now or never.
"Leo, would you like to... maybe, join the pack like you intended long ago. Or has the past change your mind on the future?" Clearly she couldn't force him into the Sono Nyx, but she had to try and convince him. If she couldn't convince one of her best friends, how would she bring in complete strangers? "I need all the help I can get.." she smiled softly, her ears drooping and making her look more mundane than she intended. Though maybe this worked out better for her and for him?
Thoughts raced in her mind, wondering if he might reject her offer. Nepara wasn't sure she could take being let down by one of her only true friends.

Sorry, a bit of a late reply, i had a bit of writer's block for a moment. [atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q21/winkatuck/leoleoleo.png]
Leo was silent for a moment, contemplating her offer. He had decided to join last time he had been here, that was true, although initially he had thought the pack would be a stupid idea. His tail tip twitched, annoyed at himself for thinking such harsh thoughts. From the sounds of things, the pack was up and running, although he guessed it was going as well as it could. Nepara was too kind to be an alpha by herself. To be a leader, one needed to be bold and decisive. They needed to evoke the right mix of fear and respect. Too much fear, and the hate you. Too little, and you’ll get someone who challenges you. He thought it would be a good idea to join this pack, he couldn’t go back to his old pack, and last time he was here, he had made an enemy of all the other packs. And, he couldn’t remain a loner forever. Plus, he did owe her, for disappearing for so long without a word. He’d sometimes thought about going back to tell her, but he simply had got caught up in the drama of his old life. Plus, if he went away, he was sure that his father would move the pack to places unknown and he would never see them again. It turns out that probably would have been better, than what had happened. He pawed the ground, thinking about his answer. Although he felt like he was already decided, he knew that this was a major decision that would affect the course of both of their lives, and it couldn’t be rushed. He wanted to join, that much was certain. But what then? The pack was still a work in progress, and if he joined, he would have to help it become a large, thriving pack. They would need a reputation that would invite prospective pack members. The pack was highly isolated here, which came with many advantages and disadvantages. It would be a challenge, but it would be interesting. “I maintain my previous decision of joining the pack” He commented. Feeling a familiar sense of ambition he continued to ask, hoping it wouldn’t be taken the wrong way. “Although, what rank would i be given?”

The only thing keeping her grounded being her furiously wagging tail. She was glad to know someone else would finally be on the nyx's side. Then the decision of rank came up. What would be a good rank for him? She thought curiously, he wasn't just a loner, he was a close friend to her before she began the pack. She intended to give him a higher rank, but his absence made her weary of keeping that kind of idea.
The thought of giving him a beginning rank would be degrading. Seeing as he meant more than that to her. Though with the absence of one of their founders, she found it almost too fitting for him to take the spot.. "Well, I was going to give you a higher rank if you were to help me and Artellia found the pack. But you disappeared so..." she began, seriousness covering her usually bubbly features. She looked back up at him with a soft smile though. "But, we did have our third founders bail on us twice... and I would love to make sure the last member of us was someone I could count on when I need them.. do you think you could do that Leo?" she was so giddy she was almost blushing profusely.
"They would have the rank of a chosen.. the most adept in their talent or skill. I know you probably haven't mastered your fire power yet, but I know lupus' specialize in certain elements and it is certainly yours..." she giggled now, her serious facade disappearing just as quickly as it had formed. She needed someone in power than could keep the balance between her soft kind nature, and though she saw Artellia around often, she knew the myou was almost just as soft as her. "Your name of course, would be completely determined between the jester and yourself, which right now the only jester is me..so. Chosen of... well fire sounds too cliche... flames... hmm... as long as it fits who you are.. then that's all that matters Leo." Nepara sighed merrily, waiting for his decision. Was she giving him too much power? If she didn't think they could be more than friends possibly, she would have even considered him for a second jester, but her rules were clear. No two wolves that were mates would be allowed to both be jesters.

Might be spelling mistakes, didn't have time to check. Also, sorry about Leo thinking he has to change everything all the time, his a bit of an ambitious git, although he has his lovable moments lol. [atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q21/winkatuck/leoleoleo.png]
Leo nodded, pleased with his rank. It was probably more than he deserved for disappearing like that, but he was unlikely to join a pack if he didn’t have a good rank. Did this mean Nepara would be a higher rank than him though? It probably did. Oh well, that was a minor annoyance to his pride. Besides, he doubt he would be punished for disobeying the occasional order. Although, he wouldn’t tell her that. “We can work on the name later, first I want to know more about the pack” He responded, narrowing his eyes at the suggested names. He felt a bit irritated that she seemed so chirpy when it came to a name. He always believed that a naming ceremony should be serious. Not that he had ever had them in his pack, but that had disappointed him. Originally he had been for all intents and purposes the alpha, but didn’t have the exact rank to prove it. He didn’t know what rank he was when he returned, but he defiantly wasn’t the alpha. His father had taken back control. That’s probably why some of the wolves left. He wondered what the pack was like. He could guess that his pack ideal would be very different from Nepara. Hopefully that wouldn’t cause too many conflicts. He liked their friendship, and he didn’t want it strained, although that would depend on her. He knew he would follow his ambitions and not his heart. That had always been the case, and he was unlikely to change anytime soon. Maybe their different ideals would be good. She would listen to him, and if he had a high rank, so would the other wolves. He could probably make changes if he saw fit. He knew that he might make a pack too bloodthirsty...as much as he hated to admit it that was true. He would cause far too man disputes between packs for it to be peaceful, but Nepara wouldn’t. Nepara would lead the pack peacefully, and that was good. You needed a mix of bloodthirsty and peaceful. One thing that did worry him however was how close they were to the Mafia. He wondered what Scorch what make of him. Did the mafia even know of this pack?

"Sure. Anything! What would you want to know more about first?" Nepara raised a brow as she took her time to stretch and lay down, feeling more comfortable knowing leo was with her 100%. she worried he would leave her like everyone else had been doing. "If anything interests you, I bet the summer festival will..." the she wolf raised a brow and smirked, crossing her forepaws over each other. "Once a year we hold a contest for all of the pack to join in on. Even the chosen must compete. They all go under whichever title they have and prove to huge audiences that they are better than the competitors. The new winners get the rank of chosen until the next year's festival.." she giggled, imagining Leo scorching the battlefield with extra precision and strength, knocking his opponents clear out of view. Speaking of scorch and the mafia..
As if to read his thoughts, she changed the subject. "I guess I should at least re-introduce myself to Scorch. He doesn't even know the empire disbanded. A shame really. Though I'm sure he would love to make an alliance with us since we live so close to one another.." Nepara added in lastly, slowly getting up and pacing a bit back and forth, her ears drooping up and down. "Hmmm, maybe I should do that.. no. Or maybe... nah, that won't work either. Either way.." she paused and looked back to Leo. "I'm excited you wish to stay, don't let me down Leo! Remember Artellia? She's the other founder of the pack, cool beans, huh?" the stretchy eremus smiled, completely unphased by the idea of being alone with Scorch.
"Oh, and while you were gone, I met this other eremus! It was soo cool! I made my pack not long after we met! He says he'll come back sometime. He wanted to travel and see the world. You can't miss him, he has large handsome yellow eyes and a soft sandy pelt...I mean. It's a shame you didn't get to meet the guy. He seemed pretty nice." she tried to avert her gaze, a faint blush creeping onto her maw. "Anyways, what else did you want to know about the nyx?" she smiled almost awkwardly, trying to changed the subject once more back to something less personal. She hoped it wouldn't bother Leo. She never thought it wrong to like two guys at once.

Leo tilted his head, thinking about the summer festival. She was right when she said it would interest him. He was always in the mood for a fight, especially when it was one of honour and pride. He imagined that joy of victory, as he clashed tooth and claw against another, his flames roaring towards his enemy, scorching them. The shock when he vanished into the shadows, his opponent unable to see him until it was too late. Yes, he would enjoy it. “I suppose I want to know more about the ranks.” He added, turning his thoughts to more serious business. There was one question he desperately wanted to ask, but he was unsure. He would have to word it carefully. “I suppose I should ask about the rank of chosen first. Must the chosen only have one power, or skill that they specialise in?” He asked, sounding nonchalant, as if he was simply asking in order to acquire nothing more than general knowledge. His ear twitched. Re-introduce? Hmm. He narrowed his eyes, wondering when she could possibly have met Scorch, and how she could see him as a potential ally rather than an enemy. He did not see Scorch forming an alliance with a pack that had no interest in bloody wars. Still, it would be interesting. “Are you sure the mafia would be allied with a pack like this?” He asked, expressing his concerns. He frowned, hearing her talking about the other eremus. He quickly schooled his expression into one of indifference. There was something distressing about the way she talked about this other wolf. It filled him with a fiery passion, that made him want to sink his teeth into flesh, and feel warm blood seeping out. It was surprising how often he had been filling this emotion since his run in with his old pack.

"Why you ask suddenly Leo? Have you found more powers than just your flames?" Nepara's eyes filled with excitement to see him perform for her and show off his new abilities. Could he levitate or read others thoughts? She let the possibilities run through her head as she eagerly watched him.
The male lupus' question perked her interest, the mafia.. not liking her pack? What a silly idea, she thought as she voiced her opinion. "Oh silly, scorch loves me! I performed for his pack once at a festival, they love to party. Of course he'll want to make an alliance with us." she mused, sitting now and letting her tail curl back up over her rump as it shook violently.
She decided to change the subject with the lack of response she got from him about Orivir. "At least I finally got to meet another eremus, now all I want to meet is a uhh.. I think they are called kukkien... lovely plant covered wolves that don't live long I've heard. They seem realyl sweet and nice though.." the white eremus coed as her tongue lolled about. | |

Sorry it took so long to reply, i got caught up in coursework! Due to my hectic schedule this hasn't been proof read, so sorry for any mistakes. [atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true] | [atrb=background,http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q21/winkatuck/leoleoleo.png]
Leo narrowed his eyes at her, knowing he shouldn’t feel suspicious of her, knowing that he did trust her...But knowing that this was his secret to keep. It was better if no one knew about his power to blend in with the shadows; otherwise he would lose his advantage. “I have lots of talents,” He replied, dismissing her with a sly smile. He snorted. The mafia, liking to party? No, he didn’t believe that. They were worse than him when it came to morals. They were all depraved individuals. “Doesn’t sound like the mafia to me. When I met them, they clearly had no interest in partying,” He replied, wondering under what conditions she had met the mafia. Clearly, it had been during happier times. Well, he had after all started a fight, but he had his own reasons. Besides, there was also that wolf that tried to steal his eyes! Not to mention all the rumours that surrounded the pack. His lips stretched into a tight smile as she continued to talk about the eremus. His tail lashed behind him. Then she changed the subject, and he latched onto the new topic. “Yes, I have seen them a few times. They don’t general socialise with other species, although they are getting less rare,” He said, thinking back to the few times he had seen the species. It reminded him of a time when he had been happy with his pack. Well, maybe not happy...but not this.
