Crystal had traveled a long time and was now bumbling around, scared and hungry. She didn't know how to take care of herself, her parents had always done it for her and that was in the desert. She didn't even know how long ago that was. She had hoped she could find a home no matter how far she had to travel or how difficult it was to get there. But now she was having second thoughts, how was she supposed survive in such a soggy place? She had never been around so much water. The marshy surroundings were difficult for her to maneuver in, every other step she took she sunk into the ground. Her hooves were caked with mud and other things she preferred not to know what they were. She smelled nothing but the stink of swamp and couldn’t see very far. She felt helpless, and that was a feeling she hated especially in these areas of land that she never experienced. She let out a short moan then a long sad howl hoping to attract the attention of a native wolf pack. Nothing changed in the environment around her and she started to doubt any creatures lived here at all. She decided to sit and wait a while just in case something did notice her though.

The white eremus took strides along the bog, her legs elongating in the deeper sinkholes so the ground was always leveled for the female. She smelled the thick scent of the bog around her as a lone jackalope crossed her path. She was tempted to make chase but something else caught her eye from where it had come. A low howl resonated along the bog and nepara couldn't help but feel this was someone she had not met before. They sound like their in trouble...
She took as far of strides as she could, being native to dochi bog made it easier for her to navigate where she was. Nepara blinked her eyes a couple of times as they focused on the other wolf in the distance now. She seemed the same similar color as her friend Orivir and when she turned to meet her gaze, the same double eyelided orbs were staring back at her.
"Are you hurt? Are you okay? You must be lost... let me help you. I'm Nepara, and you are?" She made a mental note to herself to work on the borders more, it seemed like wolves were crossing into pack territory without her knowledge somehow. Her legs shortened and stretched forward onto dryer land where the loner wolf now was as she stood a bit taller than the other female. Definitely a loner smell to her. Her ears and tail stood erect to show her dominance in the pack lands the other wolf now resided in.
Only when she spotted the others toes did she nearly jump from her own skin in excitement. "Are you perhaps, an eremus like me??" she spoke now all bubbly and intrigued.

She hesitated trying to communicate but her fear of strangers was still winning over her. She looked around some more still trying to figure out how any creatures lived here. She wondered if this place could become her home if this other eremus lived here. And also, even though this eremus, Nepara, had a very useful talent that she obviously didn't have, she supposed that it wasn't horribly bad and she could at least try to live here. That is. . . if she could take care of herself. She thought maybe, since she had finally managed to find her way to a land actually inhabited by another wolf that it wouldn't hurt her to ask for a home, but at the same time she wasn't sure about other wolves. She didn't know anything at all about the world out side of the desert she had grown up, and she barely knew anything about that desert either. But she did know she didn't want to keep walking, trying to find a home, but she also didn't want to have to find the courage to speak to this older wolf. The more she considered though, the more sense it made to talk to the wolf. "I'm. . . Crystal. . . and I'm--" she started. "I'm not hurt really. . . but I am lost. And yeah, I am another eremus. Like you, I guess. . . Do you live here?" she finally asked. "And if you do, is there room for another?"

Her tail curled behind her flank as she began to speak up once more. "And here I thought me and Orivir were the only ones left! It's a pleasure to meet another eremus, and yes I do live here in the swamp. I run the pack that resides here, the Sono Nyx. We are still a growing and thriving pack, any new members are greatly appreciated. Might I ask, what brings you all the way out here?" she stated, her tail shimmying back and forth across her back in excitement.
She glanced over the other wolf again before deciding it was best to give a thorough explanation of who, exactly, the nyx were. "You probably have no idea who the Sono Nyx are... were a pack that are ranked based on ability. We relax by day and party by night. Were more of a carefree environment." Nepara plainly stated as she continued. "I almost forgot, anyone who doesn't have a specific power or ability, which are usually newer members, start off at the sonogate rank until they find that special link. And as long as you hold a lower rank you are free to come and go as you please as long as any jesters, or alphas know about it." the white eremus took her time to catch her breath as she stretched and yawned, it was still pretty early in the morning, no wonder the fog was so thick.
"Either way, we would be glad to welcome another member to the pack, your home is our home." she smiled again as she stood up again and licked one of her hooves daintly. | |

Crystal looked around again and wondered why she couldn't just jump around excitedly and shout yes. It would help her more than harm her, she knew that. She had no where else to go and she liked the idea of being around another eremus, even if she didn't know who Orivir was. Plus, the eremus seemed cheerful and friendly and perhaps happiness was exactly what she needed in her life right now. Why can't I just accept it? Why can't I ignore it and just say yes? It's the desert. Why did that have to happen to me?she asked herself. At the same time of the good thoughts, Nepara reminded her of the desert she grew up in. She would always feel slightly uncomfortable around Nepara unless eventually she explained her past to this other eremus. But it averaged out to be better to join the pack than to decline. The other wolf seemed so calm about it yet she was trembling slightly just being in the presence of another wolf. She felt pressured by being around this wolf who just asked her an important question and just standing their so she sat down and thumped her tail against the ground. She finally nodded and answered the question. "I would love to join your wonderful pack."
(Just to point out, I was doing a thread with Eira at the Parran Lake because I was a loner, so does she need to ask to go there for now or. . ? I'm sorry I'm totally new to this.)
