"Talking!"Normal
She smiled softly and headed forward. After some time she dipped downward and swam deep. She came up under Bri and, using her shoulder/neck, pushed him forward at a quicker speed no faster than her landwalking. She moved her tail up and down slowly, as not to flick him or move too quickly. She smiled underwater, hopefully he wouldn't be mad at her for doing this.
Mari swam out from under the water when she noticed her little cove opening up in front of her. She looked back, and spoke quietly.
"You guys might have to duck your heads to make it through."
She swam forward and ducked a little bit, nosing her way through the wall of seaweed to a pool of calm, wamrm water; like a spring of salt water. There was a flat spot of shale under the surface of water about two inches and she pulled herself up onto it.
"What do you guys think?"

Brightness chuckled at Crow's attempt to mimic Mari. Had he not known the Yagi some he probably would have scoffed but Brightness had already accepted that it was just the way Crow was. He almost wished he could have been like that. Free and open, not afraid to make a fool of himself. But he also knew how naive Crow was, something Brightness never had the chance to be. He didn't envy that part, to Brightness being naive was dangerous.
Caught up in his musings as he was, didn't notice as Mari dip under the water. He let out a surprised yelp as slick fur and scales slid up underneath him. In his panic he almost kicked the Cael but he caught himself before he started thrashing too much. Oomari had to keep herself emerged to be able to carry him. Brightness found this unfair, he couldn't even scold her for surprising him. Though he guessed this made things easier... and faster. When she finally let him off they had made it to her Cave.
He sighed as she told them they had too duck. He guessed he wouldn't complain about her caring him. He almost felt the need to apologize for being a slow swimmer. Fallowing Mari's example he ducked his and swam forward. He pushed past the seaweed without flinching and into the pool. Blue eyes wondered in amazement. To think, if he had never left home he would never have seen this place, or even the ocean for that matter. Then his gaze rested on Mari and Crow. If he hadn't left he would have never met them either. Never have known kindness. Brightness swam over to the Cael and joined her on rock. He stood, only his paws remaining in the water now, and shook without thinking. Sheepishly he looked over at Mari. "S-sorry," he mumbled, "wasn't thinking. It's a very nice place you've got."

He shook the water from his golden forest pelt and shivered a bit. It was nice and cool here, away from the sun. He wondered if she ever had unwanted visitors finding her little hiding place.
"Indeed, very spacious." he added in as he got out of the water and began to sniff about the area in curiosity. It would be amazing if he could find a place so nice and secluded from everything like this. Were him and Bri the first to ever actually come into her hidden home?
"I don't suppose you get very many house guests do ya?" Crow laughed a bit, finding a nice dry place to settle down. [/scrolly]

Narration "Talking"
The blue cael smiled; these two were friends she wanted to keep for good. As Brightness joing her on the rock she directed for him to lay down beside her if he wanted to. Her tongue lolled from the side of her open jaws, but snapped back in when her copper eyes caught sight of Crow sniffing around. Her eyes widened then narrowed slightly in worry.
"Oh hey Crow?... Can you... well please not sniff around I have something in one of those clefts I don't want to lose..."
She dragged herself up the sandy slope to where Crow was scrounging and stuck her muzzle in a small hole; she pulled a translucent/silver dragon scale out from it and tried to carry in away, making sure to keep it hidden from them. She dragged her body to another spot where she dug a hole in what seemed like dry clay and lay the dragon scale softly in it. Too afraid to lose it she covered it up with seaweed. She returned to her spot beside Brightness and hoped they didn't see what she carried. She took a moment to respond to Crow's accusation.
"Actually no I don't. I've been too afraid to let people in and instead hid myself from everyone. That's how I found this. And I don't want anybody else coming here."
Her eyes shifted back and forth around the cavern, and avoided the gaze of the two wolves around her.

Brightness preened his feathers while Crow began to explore the cavern. He startled a bit when Oomara's jaw snapped closed. Light blue eyes watched as Mari dragged herself over to where Crow had been snooping. She grabbed something out of a hole and buried it elsewhere. Brightness was curious but not enough to violate her privacy.
The golden hybrid shrugged and gave his body another shake before Mari returned to her spot. Crow had finally settled down as the she-wolf confessed that she had never brought anyone here. And that she would like to keep it that way.
"We won't tell anybody about this place," he assured his new friend. He was honored that she had shared this place with them even though they had just met. "Right Crow?" he turned his somewhat silly Yagi friend.

It was truly amazing, he never imagined such a place existed. But here they were in a cavern where the only way in or out was in the murky depths of the water.
He stretched and shook his pelt, laying down now he yawned, for some reason water and him made him sleepy. But at the same time he was curious to get to know more about his friends before him.
"So... Bri..." Crow shifted his gaze towards the hybrid."what was the name of that pack you were in that made you so skiddish about new people? They don't seem too friendly the way you described them." he added in, worry covering his face.[/scrolly]

Narration "Talking"
"Thank you guys!" |
She flicked her fish tail up and down gently with happiness. She was moody, or at least appeared so. She lowered her head to her paws, her lower jaw submerged in the water. Her copper orbs looked around, only half listening to their conversation. Slowly she drifted into her subconscious, where her soul rushed through cool feshwater rivers besider Isaac, her dream-mate. All of a sudden, his pelt shifted to a yellow-gold and small appendiges sprouted from his shoulders; wings. Startled, she stopped and sunk slightly before darting to break the surface and she snapped back into reality. She gazed around, hoping the others wouldn't've noticed her daydreaming. She scolded herself quietly. "C'mon Mari keep it together. Stay down to earth for them. Plus, you'll never know if they find your dragon scale." This snapped Oomara awake and she raised her head to try and stay in the conversation. She listened intently, but her gaze darted from each wolf to the water to where she hid her scale. She sighed; this just wasn't working. The Cael needed to tell someone about it before she went insane; oh wait, they probably already thought she was. [/blockquote]

A sigh escaped from Brightness' chest at Crow's question. He had not meant to make the Children sound like an awful place. Many of the wolves there were quite nice. And they protected each other, the pack meeting had shown him that. They were a family, one that Brightness felt he wasn't apart of.
"The Children are friendly enough," Brightness explained, "One of their pack members saved my life. Well it's complicated but she got hurt and I helped her back home. But you see, where I come from wolves can't be trusted. They are cruel and most are insane. It's why I left, but I understand Reynard's wariness toward me. But he his doing me a favor and I respect him."
He hoped that he hadn't said too much. Or made himself sound suspicious in any way. He didn't want to loose his new friend because of where he was born. He didn't have any control over that. He peered over to Oomari to see is she had minded anything he had said but she seemed a little spaced out. Brightness almost wanted to laugh. It seemed he was good at making friends with rather odd wolves. But it was refreshing to be around those who were not always so serious.
"Are you alright Mari. Are you not feeling well?" He asked his large head tilting to the side and friendly concern in his eyes.

The young Yagi rolled on his back playfully and batted at Mari with one of his paws lightly. He was in a pretty good mood lately and wanted to do something. He just couldn't figure out what.
Looking at Brightness he noticed the other wolf was enjoying himself as well, that was good. He liked when his friends were happy. He also wondered what had Mari going back and forth about something, he kinda shrugged it off, seeing as it didn't have anything to do with him.

Oomara looked back at Brightness and lowered her gaze; blushing beneath her faded fur. She wanted to hide it quickly. She avoided his friendly gaze, lying to hide what was really wrong.
”Yeah yeah I’m fine. I’m okay. Just kindof trying to figure something out.”
Crow seemed to wonder what her issue was as well, but she shook her head in shame. Maybe she could tell Bri but not Crow; he seemed just a little too happy and optimistic and just out there for her to trust him. He was a good guy; Mari had to admit that much. But she just had issues with people like that. She looked up, her eyes wide; Just like Simon. Tears began to well in her eyes as she thought about her old home, where everything was good until her father tried to attack her. She lowered her head, turning her gaze from them. Shifting her weight she stood up; not realizing when she was stressed or under pressure she had steady legs. She dragged herself to the sand where she shook off and her tail morphed back into wolf legs. The female walked over and picked up her dragon scale, shimmering silver. If any wolf had any sixth sense, they would see a wave of energy ripple throughout her body, glowing blue. Her pelt turned a deeper shade of cloud blue, and her tail (when she got it wet again) was more of a dark navy, almost black. Laying the scale back down she somehow felt more confident on her legs and padded forward to lay beside Brightness again, and her hind legs shifted back into her natural form. Her copper eyes looked more rusty and she noticed nothing differently.

Brightness' concern grew as the she wolf avoided looking at him. Had he done something wrong? Had he offended her. The young male shifted to get a better look at her. He opened his mouth to say something but he saw the tears collecting in her eyes. What every he was going to say was forgotten.
"Mari?" he asked, not sure of what to do. He had never seen a female cry. Well that wasn't true. He had never seen one cry up close. He watched as the Cael dragged herself back over to the sandy spot where she had buried whatever secret thing she hadn't wanted Crow to find. He glanced a Crow, confused. Not that he knew anymore that Brightness did.
Something about the Cael changed when she picked up whatever she was hiding but Brightness couldn't put his paw on it. He watched curiously as Oomara swam back over and settled next to him again. "Are you sure everything is alright?" he asked again. He didn't want to be a bother but he also wanted to make sure his new friend was okay.

Something in the mood of the whole area seemed darker or gloomy. The care free Yagi couldn't put his finer on it and just shrugged it off. What was going on outside, he wondered. Tired of being cooked up in the cave he stood and made his way for the exit.
"I'm feeling a little stuffy in here. I'm going to take a look outside. Need a breath of fresh air." Crow gave a weary smile and sauntered in the murky waters, now up to his ankles. She turned to Brightness; his kind and gentle heart she felt was reaching out to her. She looked him straight in the eyes for a few moments before speaking.
”No I am not. I’ve got too much going on in my head and it’s literally killing me.” The cael sighed. She wanted to tell him, but she didn’t know if he would listen to her. She’d been hurt enough times already she wasn’t sure if she could trust someone else so soon; but Bri seemed to have a good heart. She lowered her copper gaze away from him, not sure if she should start her story or not…
In a split second her mind shifted into a dream state where she had first obtained the dragon scale. The cold night wind sent chills through her skin when it flowed through her thin pelt. She wandered, stumbling, into a dry sandy clearing where she first spotted an unmoving shape across the way. Fear running through her veins she walked up to the thing and soon realized it was the carcass of a young silver dragon. The scent aerating from it told her it had only recently died; probably only about a half hour ago. The aroma of the meat was tempting, but she had been told many times that it caused very bad problems, so she only tore off one of its smallest scales. A loud screech sounded when it slide out, and in her terror she raced off back to the shore on steady legs under her full control. ‘Twas then she realized with it she could get some sort of strength from it. Oomara snapped back and lifted her gaze back up to Bri, watching her family’s memories flash past her vision. Was she ready to tell someone? Was Bri the one she wanted to tell? [/scrolly]

Narration "Talking" [scrolly:h(75),w(375),sy,c()]
Brightness' attention was divided. His carefree friend seem to be uncomfortable but Mari seemed like she needed his attention. The young hybrid was torn.
"I'll meet you out there in a minute, alright?" he offered to Crow. He hoped he didn't seem as if he was ignoring one friend for the other. He returned Mari's gaze, feeling as if the Copper eyes were searching him for something. He hoped whatever she saw in him didn't disappoint her. It wasn't often that he let others see the real him and he wasn't comfortable putting himself on the line like this.
Brightness felt a little disappointed when Mari broke her stare as she spoke. She sighed, and her gaze lost focus. He gulped when her probing eyes met his again. Like she wanted to say something but didn't know how.
"My mother and brother used to beat me," Brightness blurted out. He froze, he hadn't meant to say that. He had just wanted to find a way for the Cael to trust him. Like if she told her his story she would share hers," I was my brothers punching back for a year and a half before I ran away."
He looked up and stretched his wings. It felt kinda good to tell someone. To let out the pent up frustration he had all that time, "Life is better now. I've found wolves that I can care for, and care about me. I'm not so scared anymore," Blue eyes returned to meet copper," It's alright." [/scrolly]

He was a punching bag for his family? This big guy? With his size she asumed he was the one beating up on them; but then again, she noticed his quiet and gentle dimeanor. She tilted her head slightly, and her copper gaze turned soft. when she spoke, her voice was soft as well; like when she was talking to a young pup or a close friend. Maybe too soft she realized a little too late.
"If you're trying to tell me that I can trust you, I already can. I can tell. I'm glad you at least found people who can care for you and you can care for. All I've got is you and Crow, and no offence to him he seems a little too rambunctious."
She tried to add a bit of humor and laughed lightly to herself. But it faded as quickly as she came up with it. She lowered her gaze and her head, and reached her muzzle out to nuzzle Bri's fur. His scent was warm and soothing to her; a symbol that she could fully trust him. And when she nuzzled him, she meant to show that he could trust her as well if he wished. She pulled her head back and turned her gaze, not wanting Bri to see her blush under her fur. After a few moments she decided to speak.
"My main problem is... Crow reminds me too much of my brother Simon. He was the last one I was to say goodbye to but never got a chance because my father ran me off." Her copper eyes welled with tears that streamed into her faded blue fur. "I have no one, and no one has me. I just wish someone could find a way to realize I'm not any crazier than they are; I just choose to use it in a different way. My daydreams." Mari turned her blurred gaze back to Brightness, looking right at him to hopefully make this easier on her. "My father exiled me because I wasn't like them. A cael midst a family of yagis and lupuses? It just didn't work. So I ran after my father decided to hunt me down. While wandering I came upon this..." She stood up and dragged herself to grab the silver scale and back. "...silver dragon scale. It gives me any sort of strength I need for a short period of time. I haven't shown anybody because I was afraid they'd steal it from me. It's basically the only thing I have that still matters..."
She dropped the scale in front of her friend and nudged it to him, the thing shimmering in the shallow water like a rare treasure. She was hoping he could take it; maybe it would give him the same strength it gave her. This was also her only test to see if he really did care. If he refused, she would know he wasn't too keen on staying her friend. Accepting, and she would be overjoyed on the inside. The cael lifted her copper gaze to meet his, her eyes portraying every emotion she felt. Fear, sorrow, pain, hope, and a longing to let go and move on, with his help. After a moment she lowered her gaze and cried, her tears speckling into the water like little silver droplets.[/scrolly]
