"Talking!" Normal
The blue cael female closed her eyes for a moment, breathing in the salty sea air that rushed through her fur and making it feel like she was surrounded by a cloud. Her mind felt somewhat at peace; which is very rare for Mari. Her mind's usually spinning with daydreams. The shale stone beneath her scales was comfortably warm, and her wolf front half laid down to warm her pelt. In a flash her tail gave a powerful throw and she jumped off the stone into the cold ocean. Bubbles escaped her throat with pleasure as she smiled and her tail whipped back and forth; propelling her forward with adreniline-pumping speed. The salt water rushed through her fur, and slid nicely over her shimmering blue scales. They tinkled quietly, almost impossible to hear. In a split second decision she darted upwards and leapt out of the water; sending a call of joy in a single word...
"Woohoo!!"
She splashed back into the water and her paws tightened to her sides to slim down her figure; making it more aerodynamic. She slowed her pace, looking at all the colorful fish and secret underwater world she loved so much. A dogfish paddled up to her and she nuzzled it softly; it gave a tiny noise of happiness as he swam away. Her legs moved from her sides and she paddled forward gently, as to not scare the other fish. Her head broke the surface, and she took in a deep breath of air. It refreshed her lungs; she swam over to the cove, and carefully pulled herself onto the sand to warm her tail by the noon-time sun.
"Isn't this great Mari? Just being out here, alone, where it's quiet and you can daydream..."
She heard a voice respond in her head, quietly. Yes, it is great. This has to be the perfect day ever. She closed her eyes, and her easily imaginative mind drifted off to her favorite spot... Swimming beside her perfect mate. He didn't exist of course, but she still found it fun to imagine him. He had a white gold tail (basically a really pale version of gold, almost silver), with shimmering white fur and liquid brass eyes. So beautiful; you get lost in them. She called him Isaac. She couldn't really ceom up with anything better, so that's all she had.
Mari wasn't asleep, only lost in her daydreams as her eyes opened and gazed out over the blue sea. That's where she stayed for about four hours, her tail gently drying and beginning to form normal legs; they were very thin from ill-use of them because she spent so much time in the water.
"If anyone cares, will they please come swimming with me?"
She called out quietly in her dreams.

Brightness had been wondering when he came across the Cael lying in the sand. He had been scouting, if that's what you want to call it. He knew he couldn't stay with the Children forever, he needed to find a real home. But being here, this close to Mafia lands, was making him nervous. For a moment he thought the blue wolf was dead, like so many he had seen before, dragged in for lunch. Not that he would eat it.
He heaved a sigh a relief as the she-wolf quietly spoke. She was lonely? His paws twitched, and before he knew it they had carried him to the beach's edge where the dirt faded into sand. He almost stopped, turned tail and ran, but recent encounters stopped him. Not all wolves were out to get him. He knew that now.
Gingerly he stepped out into the sand, though he didn't venture to far. He tucked his awkward wings in closer to his body to seem smaller, Brightness knew his size was intimidating sometimes. "H-hello," He stuttered, unable to keep the slight rasp out of his voice.

He had met quite a few people now and was beginning to form friendships. When he noticed Brightness he barked out after him.
"Hey! Bri!" was he following him or something? Kinda creepy. Maybe it was just a coincidence? Either way until the young male got closer did he notice the other lupine laying in the sand. Half fish... like Tor. excitement bubbled up inside of him. The last wolf like this one was very nice to him. But was she deaf too? Only one way to find out.
"Hello?" he gently nudged her motionless form.[/scrolly]

"Talking!" Normal
The relaxed blue wolf jumped as she was nudged by something. Her eyes snapped open, and her legs stiffened as she tried to stand; but her back legs quivered and she fell into a sitting position. Her copper orbs looked lazily at the two wolves near her; from the scared small one to the horned bold one. She tiled her head softly to the right, looking calmly at the wolves.
"Who are you guys? Why'd you guys come to the cove? I thought I'd be the only one here. But I'm glad there's some others. Please don't be offending if I don't seem to be listening; it's a habit."
She looked calmly at the horned one. Stocky, but in good shape. She might like him. Then her gaze directed to the small one. So tender and full of new life. Or maybe that's just the vibe she got from him. She closed her eyes and opened them again, her mind making her vision swirl with colors of gold, blue, pink and purple; the colors of her dreams. She smiled playfully as she laid down again.
"Oh by the way, I'm Oomara. But call me Mari if you wish."

OOC: Sorry Krypt, I should have mentioned earlier but Brightness is about two years old and has grown into his full size. He probably one of the largest wolves on wonder why.
BIC: Brightness jumped as a familiar voice called his name, well the shortened version he had begun to use. He turned to see the Yagi he had meet not to long ago walking toward him. He turned to look at the beached wolf as Crow noticed and greeted her.
The Cael tried to stand and failed to stand. 'It must be difficult' he thought ' trying to use appendages you only have once in a while.' She eyed them for a moment before rapid fire speech hit him. Honestly, Brightness was a bit taken back.He hadn't been expecting her to say so much, or reveal that much about herself. Then she went quiet again studding them.
"Oh by the way, I'm Oomara. But call me Mari if you wish."
" H-hi Mari," He dipped his head in a bow of greeting, "I'm Bri. I'm just," he searched for the word to place why he was here, "wondering I g-guess."

He stretched and yawned, when he sat up Crow stared at Mari and closes his eyes in embarrassment.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude if you were perhaps sleeping... It's just the last I met of your kind was deaf. They couldn't hear so in case all of your kind was like that I kinda just thought, ya know..." he wagged his tail nervously.
This was becoming fun for Crow, meeting people and seeing them again. Maybe he didn't need a pack. Maybe being a loner was all he needed to be? Besides the fact he would probably stay on his own. He liked that kind of life. A no strings attached world. Lot's of adventure and zero responsibilities! Of course This Yagi was young and possibly foolish at that not to think of the dangers that come with being a loner as well. [/scrolly]

She smiled happily at the two wolves beside her. The Yagi would be fun to play with/get to know. And the winged one -Bri, she remembers- would be great to have in company. Her tail began to wag happily, and the tip touched the seawater. In a split second her back end transformed back into the shimmering scaled tail that she loved so much. It flicked and she slid backwards into the Water. Oh how wonderful it felt to her. She kept her head above water and treaded, to still hopefully talk to them. She pulled herself forward so her tail was still submerged yet her paws and front half were on sand.
"Well nice to meet you Bri. If you're just wandering aimlessly, can I show you the cove where I reside?"
She looked back at the Yagi who yawned as he stretched. His fur was an intriguing mix of ash to earthy browns. He seemed to be looking at her expectantly, and she snapped back into reality.
"Oh, no we're not all deaf. only few of us are. I hear quite well actually; because I spend so much time in the water I need sensitive hearing. You seem nice. Do either of you like to go swimming? There's a tidepool in my cave that's got very calm water."
She looked at them happily, eager that they accept so she could show them. She hadn't had company in a while, and she didn't want to scare them off so she thought she'd better calm down before they found her too annoying. She lowered her head and tilted her ears back.

He almost laughed as Crow explained that he thought that all Cael might be deaf. The Yagi really was silly. Brightness flinched as Mari's body suddenly transformed. He had know he could do that but the unexpectedness of it shocked him. The gold and brown wolf looked to see Crow had noticed his reaction. Brightness knew he shouldn't care but he didn't really want to look weak in front of this guy. The Yagi was the first wolf he had ever really felt on equal terms with.
His eyes flicked back to Mari as she asked him if he'd like to see her home. Did she live alone? It did seem so. He was already feeling a little nervous with two wolves present, but a least Brightness had meet Crow before and Mari did seem nice, if not a bit spaced out.
He waited till she had explained to Crow that not all Caels are deaf. At least she was nice about it and didn't tell the guy he was stupid. Then she proceeded to ask them if they would like to swim. Brightness was apprehensive about that. He was built more for the land and air than he was for the water. In fact he would probably sink and drown.
"Maybe," The hybrid conceded," If the water is not too deep, you could teach us how." He said 'us' figuring Crow either wouldn't mind or at least wouldn't fault him for offering his company as well.

That sounds like a great idea Bri!" The rambunctious Yagi wagged his tail furiously as he stood up and scanned the area to possibly spot the place Mari resided.
Crow took in the scenery around them, it truly was a sight to behold. The sun was nearing it setting and the clouds seemed vibrant with the calm waters pigmentation. The sky equally as beautiful. His pelt shimmered a golden dust storm, pieces of shrubs caught it the mixture. The Yagi grinned the best he could with those obnoxiously huge fangs.
"What are we waiting for? Show us the way Mari." Crow was excited beyond belief. He wanted to make another friend, he liked having friends he could share stuff with.[/scrolly]

Her scaley tail wagged gently making the water splash softly. She stood on her front paws and told them to come to her. She looked at them both softly.
"Well, Bri, you seem a little frightened. Now I wouldn't normally do this, but I'm going to let you hold onto my fin or tail okay? The shallowest it gets is ten tail-lengths. Just as a guesstimate. And you, Yagi, you can probably swim easily. There will be stones to push yourself forward and the water will be calm so don't worry."
She smiled, and turned her tail to face Bri so he could grab on if he wished. She nodded to the Yagi and started forward gently. She looked back to make sure Bri and Crow was following.
OOC: sorry for the shortness. XP

Crow's excitement might have infected Brightness if the large hybrid hadn't been so afraid of drowning. He reluctantly crept closer to the water's edge where Mari offered her tail. He considered for a moment trying to fly to where they were going. Sadly he was sure his wings couldn't support him in extended flight. So he placed one golden paw in the water, then another until the waves lapped at is belly.
Blue eyes studied the scaly tail before him. He wasn't sure about how to grab on without hurting the Cael or dragging her down. His wings flapped involuntarily at his discomfort, like a bird trying to take off. He waded in a bit deeper and tested doggy paddling. It wasn't so bad as long as he kept his wings tucked close.
"It's alright," he mumbled, kicking his legs some to practice," I don't want to bother you too much. I think I could get the hang of this.. maybe."

Wagging his tail above the water and thrusting one paw after another in front and his back legs failing every which direction.
Doggy paddle had to be the easiest way to swim, He began to wonder what way Cael's swam. They had a tail on their side anyways, could they even do cool tricks like back flips?
"Hey, Mari, can you do any... ya know... cool things in the water with that?" The young yagi referred to her long flowing tail. He was really curious if they could and in turn if he could learn a thing or two. Maybe he could impress Tor next time they met? [/scrolly]

"Well I'll always be here to help you if you need it hun."
She spoke softly to Bri. She felt the water ripple as both wolves walked into the water. Her heart jumped with the fact that maybe, just maybe, she had some new friends. She paddled out faster up until she heard Crow ask a question. She paused, treading water calmly.
"Actually I can do tricks. I can show you my favorite one, a logroll flip.!"
She spoke excitedly. The blue Cael flicked her tail quickly, increasing her speed as she dipped downward. When she felt she had enough speed she headed towards the surface, and twitched her body slightly as she broke to air. Her body lifted into the air, spinning quickly and controlled as she dived back into the water. She paddled back to the two, and smiled brightly. She headed toward her cove and constantly looked back at them.

Brightness felt his cheeks heat up as Mari spoke softly to him. He swallowed and nodded, shying away from the female. He had only really know two types of females. His mother, who had beaten him, and Moonrose, who was more like a big sister. Never had he met a girl so, not delicate but elegant. It could be the scales or the fact that all other females he knew were covered in scars.
"Th-thanks," he cursed his stutter. There was no need to be nervous, it wasn't like he was in danger. But Brightness couldn't help it. Girls just seemed to make him nervous.
The golden brown hybrid was thankful for Crow asking her about tricks. He watched curiously as Oomara dived down into the depths of the water. He steadily worked his paws to keep him afloat. His heart rate increased as the Cael rocketed from the water. She spiraled as she fell back toward earth and dived in gracefully. Brightness was awed, he would never be able to do anything that beautiful on land, in water or in air. He wasn't built for it.
"That was amazing," he praised and he swam, slowly but steadily, after her.

I wish I could do that!" he blushed thinking if he could do such tricks he could impress any Cael. He was determined to prove he was worth teaching.
Crow went a bit deeper under the water too and jumped an inch above the water before losing his balance and splashing into the depths again.
He resurfaced and laughed light-heartily, so he wasn't as good as a Cael. But they had the advantage and he did not so he figured it was a good enough try. With water dripping from his maw he glanced at Bri and thought he was being silly the way he was swimming.
Then again he wasn't a pro swimmer either so he couldn't really say anything.[/scrolly]
