Narration "Talking" [scrolly:h(75),w(375),sy,c()]
Brightness stiffened as Mari nuzzled him. Heat rushed to his face as he looked down at the light blue Cael. He gulped as he forced himself to relax. She needed comfort, Brightness realized. Something he was unfamiliar with was physical contact that didn't ultimately end in pain. Nervously he mimicked her motions to nuzzle her back.
The golden hybrid listened to Mari intently, never letting his attention waver. She was like him, she also had a difficult past. Something that scarred her heart and made trust that much more difficult. He understood what she said about Crow. He was hyper, but that was what he like about the Yagi. His blind innocence made him special. It was something Brightness admired because he had never had that. It seemed Mari couldn't because she had once been innocent like him but had it ripped away. He appreciated her being kind to him anyway.
Brightness placed a large golden paw on the edge of the scale, gazing upon it in wonder. He had never seen a dragon, though his mother had told him horror stories, mostly involving her feeding him to one.
"I don't think your crazy," Brightness said with conviction in his voice, "Your special. You are stronger than you think." He licked her for head, and nuzzled her ear, fallowing some unknown instinct. He found he cared for her, even only having meet her today. It was the same with Crow and Moonrose. They had given him a reason to fight on, like this dragon scale had for Mari. It was something to protect. But an inanimate object could only sustain a wolf for so long. "Don't cry," he consoled,"I'm here."

Love. Whether as a friend or as a mate she couldn’t tell yet. But he was kind, soft-hearted, protective. She really liked him, and she realized she had a new reason to fight. A new reason to move on. The scale couldn’t do much more than a stone could, but this was more valuable to her. She listened to his words with calmness, tears continuing to stream down her cheeks. Special? Strong? How? She was as weak as a newborn pup when it came to… well… everything.
How? How am I strong? I can’t even barely take care of myself… let alone guard this scale any longer. I don’t have much left to live for… but now there’s you.
As Brightness nuzzled Mari, her skin flushed pink under her faded blue pelt. His touch was gentle; she hadn’t found anyone like that since she ran from her home. She was almost uncomfortable with it if it weren’t for his warmth calming her. The tears slowly stopped, and her sorrow started to fade. The cael nuzzled her friend’s neck, taking in his scent and letting its soothing sense wash over her like the water. After the soft moment was over, she asked if he wanted to go back outside and meet Crow. She thought it was about time they left the little cave and moved on. She didn’t even want to think about what way he liked her; for now she didn’t care.

Narration "Talking" [scrolly:h(75),w(375),sy,c()]
Brightness smiled sadly. He knew he wasn't the best at the comforting thing. Listening to her say she didn't have much to live for hurt. It wasn't that long ago that he was ready to give up. Ready to die, and really he was too young to be thinking like that and so was Mari.
"Your strong cause you've held on this long. I think strength isn't just about being physically strong. It's also about never giving up, no matter how bad things get."
He licked Mari's ear as she nuzzled him again. He nodded when she suggested to go meet up with Crow. He knew the young Yagi would be curious. Brightness could almost imagine the guy bouncing around and asking questions. Not that he thought that Crow really wanted to know about something this heavy. It would probably too much for his fun loving nature. [/scrolly]

Crow had decided what better way to impress Tor than to get better at water aerobics? So he splashed and crashed around in the murky depths. He found himself becoming tired soon as he panted and laid out on the oceans shore, letting the tide come up and down his back.
"Man, I guess there's a reason I'm a Yagi and not a Cael..." he pouted, his spirits seeming crushed for the moment. Shaking the water from his pelt as he got up and perched himself on a rocky stone above the shores, he thumped his tail to an unknown tune. Before Crow knew it, he was singing a melody he had made up of his own.
I can't think of the reasons, Wonder why it was this way, Noticed your silence, It had me swayed.
Until we can meet, When the waters high, I will be forever swimming, Regardless of the tide.
Splashing around clumsily, Paddling for dear life, You make think it's scary. But I will always be alright.
Taking in a deep breath, he laid out on the rock and watched the sunset. Crow had forgotten the other two in the cave and started drifting, thinking of that other wolf. He began to wonder if it was fair. That she was how she was, and that he was different. It made him a bit sad to think about it, so he tried to shake the thought off and rolled onto his back, paws high up in the air...
"Just a few... more minutes..." he exhaled as he closed his eyes began to daydream of her.[/scrolly] | |
