It was spring time so the animals that were previously hibernating, were coming out of their dens. She was feeling rather hungry and so she set out to do some hunting. Though this was not her ideal hunting spot, as there is few greenery and earth around her that she could use to her advantage, the spring usually attracted a couple of jackalopes or mountain goats, so she thought this would be a good starting point.
Cyra lurked behind a couple of large boulders near the stream, her senses sharp. Out of the corner of her eye she saw movement, and turned her head to see a small jackalope. Ok, she thought, this is the time. Cyra moved ever so quietly until she was just near enough to reach the jackalope. She got into position and jumped, going for her preys' throught, but not before she slipped on a sheet of ice. The jackalope then heard her, racing off, as Cyra landed with a thump were it used to be, slipping uncontrollably as she splashed into the icy water of the stream.
The shock was immense, and for a second she was frozen there, unable to move. However she came to her senses quickly and dragged herself out before it could do any damage. She was cold and soaked, and wanted to go back to her pack, but no matter how much she wanted to go back, she wanted to succeed even more. Especially after she just claimed the rank of a hunter in her new pack. She shook her fur so it wasn’t dripping any longer, and went back to her place behind the boulder to wait for another animal to come by.

Dreamith had never been this far away from the water. Her legs were wobbling like a new born land pup and just as accident prone. A few times she tripped over her own feet, not meant to be out this far from the water. Though in the lower part of the mountain, it was still very cold. Had her coat not been able to keep out cold water like ones fur would keep out the cold from their death, she would be frozen sushi right now. Yet, it was still too cold for her liking and yet, she decided to explore farther inland... way farther inland.
Dreamith's eyes caught something. Water! Happily she jumped in and just as fast she jumped out, so fast that her legs and tail were only half way into becoming a fishtail. Everything here was freezing! She had never been in freezing climate making the cold water 10 times more shocking and freezing than it actually is. Now the cold, whipping, wind was making her freeze. She jumped back into the water, though this time, it wasn't as cold. Dreamith went down under the water a few feet. It got dark quick, even for the day still hanging above her head. She closed her eyes and felt air bubbles slowly escape her nose, making it tickle slightly.
Dreamith's opened her eyes wide as something flew into the water next to her then paddled away. She stayed under the water for a moment more, just blinking her eyes. Dreamith quietly got out of the water making the least amount of sound she could. The wolf seemed to have disappeared. Dreamith walked slowly by a bolder. I swear there was a wolf just here...

At least she did not have the frozen wind to contend with as she create a pocket of warm air around her. She had been keeping her self rather secluded of late to train as her old friend had once taught her, but she'd had enough of it and was ready to get back in the game. Her fur had finally shed most of its winter cover and she was back to her blue, white and black brilliant self.
Walking in her protective pocket of warmth Som left a trail in the snow, probably opening the ground up briefly before it would be covered again, the unforgiving bite of the wind disliking the small act of defiance. Reaching a steep crest she glanced down to see another wolf hunting; one she had yet to meet. She cringed as the other wolf hit the water, the cold would be unbearable at best. However they seemed to recuperate rather well. Deciding it could do no harm she made a step to move down the slope and...tripped on the edge of a jutting rock.
Rolling furiously Som briefly lost control of her protective warm air as the edges of the mountain bruised her sides. This whole falling down routine is getting rather old she thought, and if I don't stop myself I will end up in that river too. With a burst of elemental energy she called to the wind to slow her fall, using the powerful gust to bring her back onto her feet as she landed on the ground by a boulder, much more gracefully then how she'd started out. "Hi there, sorry to burst in on you like this, I was going for a more tactful approach but oh well I suppose. My name is Somatra, and I am a Guardian for the Children of Hvitur Ari, pleasure to meet you."Glancing around the corner she said in a slightly dazed voice, [/scrolly]

A wolf, and by the looks of it yet another lupus, tumbling down towards the river as she did. Then suddenly something cushioned her fall, and Cyra made the assumption that she was going to meet a wind lupus. At any other time she would have been pleased to meet another wolf, as making friends was something she enjoyed doing. However, today, she was training and practicing her hunting skills. An activity that she did almost always alone. Hence the reason she came to this cold dessert in search for challenge and to be in solitude.
Cyra let out a snarl between her teeth and had the look of great annoyance in her eyes, when she realized this was NOT the way to greet another wolf, especially one who had been completely nice to Cyra in her greetings. She was upset, but it’s not like the other wolf followed her on purpose and she had to keep in mind that this was not her land (not that she had any in the first place) and the other one may have come here to hunt as well. That and the fact that not only was she cold, but the idea of company was growing on her more and more has the seconds went by. She put on an apologetic smile and said “Hello, my name is Cyra. i am a hunter in the Phillia Alliance. May I ask of yours?” she relaxed her body and tried to warm up as she went out of her hunting mode. She was tired as the cold was taking a lot out of her as she tried to stay warm. She curled her tail around her body and laid down, a second later shooting back up to remember that this was not the forest floor, and ice was cold.

Dreamith held her breath for a moment as two wolves were obviously behind the current bolder that she was in front of. She slowly sat down and listened. She actually got to hear the introductions, not have to be the first to give them. That was a change for herself.
Dreamith wanted to run. She was from a totally different pack than the two other wolves. She knows hardly anything about her own pack. But perhaps her own pack is at war with one of the others. It was quite a possibility. She continued to sit there silently.

Philia Alliance, there was a new one to be sure, so what was their position in this game of territories and packs that was called life? Well there was no telling without first knowing, and perhaps this wolf would be up to some fun...once she got warmed up that is. With that she extend her pocket of warm air so that it encompassed the other female.
Grinning she said, "A raggle taggle fool with air for brains and four left paws. So how do you find the weather up here? I must say, don't think I've ever been hotter, right toasty it is. This Philia Alliance, what is that about? Haven't heard much of it yet, but look who you're talking to." She laughed the merry sound drifting along the gusts of air, if you can't beat em, join em. Just then the wind brought news of a third party and she said to the other wolf, "Hum, do you have friend with you, because it seems we are not quite alone." She turned in the direction the wind had indicated and narrowed her eyes, nose lightly sniffing to pick up any other scents. [/scrolly]

She suddenly felt a thousand times better and more grateful for her appearance. Somatra seemed kind, sharing her warmth with a wolf she didn’t even know, though it must be taking up energy. She looked at Somatra and smiled thankfully nodding her head once in recognition of what she had given Cyra. With Somatras’ next words she couldn’t help but to think that this new wolf was a little funny too. She giggled and said, “Well, I would be surprised if any wolf could come up here and stay on all fours. And for the Phillia Alliance, well I just joined, so I know little about them too. The biggest trait I would think and the reason why I joined is that of equality. Everyone in the pack is said to be equal, and I think that is a new yet great way to have a pack, and I believe it will work out. Our territory is in the Connewa Meadow, much warmer and nicer then over here.” Just as she finished and heard Somatra saying something about having a friend with Cyra, Cyra caught the smell of another wolf. “A friend,” Cyra said, “why no, I didn't bring anyone along.” Cyra sniffed the air once more, and this time she got a strong whiff of the wolf, recognizing the smell of a wolf she had once met, but not being able to put a name to it. Being interrupted while training was one thing, but being spied on, by a wolf that was familiar or not, was another that she would not stand by. She got dead quite, listening to the stranger, and tensing her muscles for a fight if need be. Then she suddenly leaped from behind the boulder hopefully catching him or her off guard, and looked to see who was there, not once letting her guard down.

Dreamith held her breath. They definitely knew she was there. So why just sit here while they are talking about her? Doubt they could see that her tail was still fish. Dreamith sat there for a little while longer. There really was no reason to continue to sit here. What was she waiting for anyways. She closed her eyes for a moment then opened her eyes and was just about to get up.
Dreamith was slammed onto her back with her shoulders pinned down. She felt like she was a deer being pounced by a wolf. Though, technical, she was being pounced by another wolf. Suddenly her mouth opened up and a whole bunch of stuff flew out of her mouth. "I swear I was not spying on you. You see, I was exploring the terrain, never had been over here. though it seemed to have been quite the mistake seen as that I am a Cael and I had gotten quite far from the water, though I am meant more for the water and less of land. I suppose I really did travel to far inward. Once I had seen this near-by water, er, river, I had jumped in eagerly and hadn't even seen anyone else till, i think it was you, who had fallen into the water, truthfully, scaring the crap out of me. I got out started for leaving then caught that there were two wolves and I for some reason stayed to listened and my name is Dreamith." She finely took a breath. She sniffed once, then twice. Oh wait, I have met this wolf before... nice going Dreamith. Nice...

It was a good thing that Dreamith had not been waiting for it as she may have been in a tricky situation. But none the less it showed a degree of courage that was admirable. So this was one of the reputed Cael she'd heard about, half fish half wolf they were a species that interested the wind lupus.
Approaching she sized the other wolf up and tried her best to follow the rushed confession. It made sense to her, caution when approaching strangers never hurt. Strolling closer she said, "The name's Somatra and I must say I've never met a Cael such as yourself before. Can you breathe underwater, can you walk on land, do you prefer water mammals for food, where do you come from, how do you stand the cold, isn't it dark underwater?." Pausing she added sheepishly, "Sorry, didn't mean to bombard you..." Her pocket of warm air kept her from loosing energy to the cold as it cost little to maintain it and she spread it to both wolves. Now that she was warm her limbs sparked with energy and curiousity. [/scrolly]

Not really meaning too, but the jump was good and it pinned down the other wolf. The other one started spewing out words that Cyra didn't catch, when Cyra realized that yes she did indeed know this Cael. Cyra quickly leaped off her and looked down sheepishly. The cael finally slowed down and at the end she heard the name Dreamith. Aaahhhh that's the name, Cyra thought. Well, so much for hunting.
Cyra was about to say something to Dreamith, when Somatra started asking Dreamith an enormous amount of questions. She stepped back in shock of how fast these two wolves could talk with a bewildered expression on her face. Somatra finally finished, and usually Cyra would’ve given the other wolf time to reply before she started talking, but his was different. She could stand there and not say anything. “Hello Dreamith!! I am so very sorry about that. I did not realize it was you.” If she knew it was Dreamith, one of her friends, she would have never leapt on her. She could tell Dreamith was sorry and a little nervous because of Cyras actions, by the way she just didn't stop talking. Dreamith didn't mean to spy on them, and that was enough for Cyra. “So,” Cyra continued, “it’s nice to see you again! But as I recall, the last time we met we were on the beach. What brings you out to the cold mountains?”
She was about to wait for a reply from Dreamith, when she realized she just completely interrupted and ignored Somatra. “Oops, sorry Somatra. I didn't mean to interrupt I just needed to apologize.” She stepped back after saying what she needed to say, and with a smile, looked on for them to continue.

Dreamith sat up slowly as her shoulders were released. She sat on her fish tail. It was quite nice to breath again after that long explanation. She listened to Cyra's apology. "Heh, sorry for that little out-burst of words and its really alright. You probably make a good hunter." Dreamith said also trying to lighten the mood some from the kind of awkward situation.
Dreamith's head kind of spun round as a burst of questions came from Som. "Well... Yes I can breath underwater for long periods of time, I can walk on land though it is rather difficult most of the time for I am very accident prone on land, I do prefer water mammals then land mammals, I last came from some beach, it is extremely difficult to stand this cold but it is helpful that Caels fur are more adaptibal to be able to go into cold water and warm water that would be a bit more difficult for land wolves to stand, and it's not to dark underwater at the top but the farther down you go under the darker it dose get." Dreamith did not say this all in one breath though she was kind of rambling off with answers as well. Dreamith looked at Cyra. "Yes, I was at the beach but I thought I would explore some inland and ended up going to far and ended up here." At least this answer took less effort and less breath.

Other wolves were always a subject of interest for the lupus, and where they originated and evolve was no doubt a fascination. Curiosity satisfied for the time being she became aware that the three of them would do well to seek some shelter.
It would be just their luck that there was a small cavern in the side of the cliff none too far from where they sat, and Som hoped that the other two would be inclined to prefer the warmer space to continue this discussion in. Inclining her head to the side she suggested, "As I recall there is a small cavern just around that ridge," she paused to point her nose to the right," and it might be a better location to talk in." Turning she parted the wind to allow them to move without much hindrance. She left tracks in the snow as she trotted along, using the air to guide her to the irregularity in the mountain face, checking back to see if her new acquaintances would follow.
The loud sound of the open mountain dimmed dramatically once in the dark cavern, and not but a couple whistles of wind and the trickle of a small pool of mountain spring in the corner could be heard. Concentrating she warmed the air up and fine tuned the whistle of the wind into a soft melody. The atmosphere was great despite the lack of much light and Som moved over to the side, circling on the spot before lying down and placing her head on her pure white paws. With a great yawn she remained still to see if she would be joined.

Those were wonderful, reassuring words to hear as she would be horribly disappointed in herself if she could not be a good hunter for the pack. “Thanks Dreamith!” Cyra said.
Then Somatra said something about going into cave as a better place to talk in. Cyra didn't know her reasoning as it wasn’t much warmer inside a cave but she decided to follow. She entered the cave to see Somatra lying down, and suddenly knew her reasoning for being inside the cave. The walls around her kept in some of the energy from the warm air that Somatra had filled the cave with. Felling warm and cozy and now completely dry she lay down, glad she had met some friends. Then she also heard the melody that was playing in the wind, and smiled as the winds beautiful voice carried into the cave.

Dreamith smiled and nodded toward Cyra. She fallowed the two others to the cave that Som had recently mentioned. All she could think of on the way to the warmer cave was, warmer than out here... cold... right..now... cave..., and so on.
Once they all got there, Dreamith hurriedly ran into a corner, curling up into a ball for a moment. The stone walls were just as cold as the air around them. She jumped up and started to look around. She went to the back of the cave to a large wall of rocks. Dreamith curiously looked through a very small open space. "Hey... there is something on the other side... wanna check it out since we are stuck in here?" She smiled and looked at the others.

She moved through the now heated air, the luxurious warm a caress on her muzzle, and made her way over to Dreamith. Tail swishing in interest she sniffed at the pile, her nose attuned to any change in the scent and flow of the air. The spring mountain air quickly changed to a dusty closed in space smell and she could perceive the exchange of air in the gap. Ears pricked straight up she crouched by the hole, tail in full swing. With a burst of energy she focused on the air and let it flow through the hole in an attempt to determine the depth of the hidden cavern. Her powers would not be of much use moving the boulders, but at least she could help determine what awaited them on the other side and from her findings, the cavern was more of a lengthy passage.
Moving aside she turned to her two companions, almost bouncing with excitement and said in an eager voice, "There is definitely a elongated passage behind there, but I can't move this boulders with my power." Consternation marred her white and blue faced as one ear turned it black tip back wards. They may have discovered a hidden passage that no other wolf had ever set foot in. The concept sent chills up her spine and set her nerves a tingle.
